SUPPORT AMERICAN TROOPS! What does this statement mean?

SUPPORT AMERICAN TROOPS serving in Iraq & Afghanistan!

What does this statement mean exactly?

I am anti-war. Period. I was in the Army for 4 years. I signed the dotted line. I was 18 and legally an adult as far as the government was concerned. According to the government, I was able to make my own decisions (except of course I could not decide if I wanted a beer or not. The drinking age was 21. The government thought I was old enough to die for my country, but not old enough to have a beer, go figure. We’ll discuss that at another time.).

Soldiers join the military for many reasons. GI BILL, adventure, to get away, learn a trade, and yes there are even those Nationalistic ‘ate-up’ ones that join to kill a Commy for Mommy. Point is, regardless of the bells and whistles the Military provides; we all join a War Machine.

That’s it.

By joining the military, like it or not, you are supporting war. So don’t be surprised when they call you up (Reverves, National Guard included) to ‘serve’ (i.e. kill others and perhaps be killed) your country. You sign the dotted line, you are THEIRS.

That brings me to ‘Support The Troops’ and its implications. We all make mistakes. We’re Human. It is what we do: we fuck up all the time. But most of the time, no one hates us for our mistakes.

For example; we may be disappointed when our children do something we think is wrong, malicious or stupid; but we still love our children, we still nurture our children, we show the children where their mistakes are. We still give the children food, clothes, our love. We don’t put the child out into the street, spit on the child, beat the child.

In short we Support the Children, just not the (stupid, malicious wrong) actions they do.

Support the Troops. Indeed. But let’s not get that confused with Anti-war which the Media and those that watch Foxnews or listen to Glenn Beck (there are people take that guy seriously?) seem to muddy.  To see how this statement was received – Read the comments below then leave your own.

Peace in the Middle East.

What does it mean to support the Troops?

Discussion from Facebook

Quite Interesting Take a Peek.

Leon Rene LaPointe

We have to send them money?
Julian Bush
it means get them home!
Leon Rene LaPointe
Kinda like starving kids in Africa… Support a soldier, make sure he learns to read and write, goes to school, every few weeks you get a photo and a thankyou letter… I think?
Leon Rene LaPointe
Oh? So by supporting a soldier, the American army will send one to live with you at your own house?
Larry Glasco
it means stand behind them no matter your belief as they are only doing thier assignement or job as you do every day you have a choice to do your job or not they do not their consequences for not following orders are much more severe then you not … while you sleep or play on here they hardly ever sleep while you go shopping they wear the same clothes for days so yes please support them and let them no they are loved and cared for
Leon Rene LaPointe
I support the troops under that definition, I even support the war in afghanistan, but I do not support the war in Iraq…
Mars Alexandre
Like… psychological support ? Well , under those circumstances of “no choice” and go follow orders like a dumb dog , I guess it is fare at least thinking people feel pity on them and show some compassion…
Can you imagine the feeling of guilt after know that the whole thing was just a mascarade to steal a whole nation’s oil?
Well…I do believe in Obama’s intentions of peace , but that doesn’t erase that they massacred and destroyed a whole nation and murdered thousands of human beings under the new Hitler’s regime (Bush admin) Just for oil… or money or what ever the hell the son of a bitch was thinking …
Yes I do pity them (it is some sort of support isn’t it?)
No offense here , the U.S. are beautiful people and I can say that because I have very good friends there , just … thanks God dark ages are over , and finally U.S. can have a breathe … and so the rest of the planet…
Leon Rene LaPointe
Why else wage war? Oil is a pretty good reason to wage war! I think the thing that pisses people off is that they weren’t up front about it, if they had slick commercial made about how cool oil is before they invaded everyone would totally be for it… The mistake was not the act but the message. Hire better propaganda ministers is my opinion.
It means to send them care packages and let them know that you appreciate their service regardless of what you believe. As the sister to Paul’s COUSIN (yes that makes him my cousin too but the lack of support he has for my brother makes me feel less like family) who is deployed in Iraq as we speak, I find this sort of cruel and idiotic banter offensive. I don’t believe we should be at war but its not the soldier’s fault. I’m sure if any of you were in his place right now you’d be upset by the lack of compasion and understanding found here. I’m not stupid and I know all about your war for oil crap but I don’t care about that any more, what I care about is that my baby brother comes home safe. Talking about how there should be a war doesn’t make it go away!!!!! Voting the right people in does. So shut up and do something or go stop making asses out of yourselves by babbling sarcastic comments about men and woman who are doing a Jon most of you can’t do if you tried
Leon Rene LaPointe
Yeah, we understand all that but its more fun to be sarcastic on the internet.
Nicki Dunton
Well I’m glad that my 19 year old brother, soon to be father, risking his life round the clock provides you with hours of entertainment. *note the sarcasm* ignorance is bliss.  I’ve stated my mind and now I’m going to bed. Karma is a bitch 🙂 have a good night or day, what ever time it is where ever you are.
Leon Rene LaPointe
Oh c’mon now… Cheeky internet chat is not going to lose the war.
No its not, but I’m not concerned about losing or winning. Just my brother. I don’t find this “cheeky” either. I’m probably too tired to joke about my brothers life, goodnight
Leon Rene LaPointe
I erased my last reply and it was not related to any of your spelling or grammar. So you replied to something that I wrote before that made little sense… I said before previously that I am not against the troops, I stated before that I am anti-Iraq war, pro-afghanistan war… Anti-peace, pro-calm… And support your brother, but have no support for the crap that got him involved in an unjust war in Iraq. Cheers!
You must have erased it while I was typing my reply. Sorry. And frankly I was more upset with “mars” and their comments than yours. I have also previously stated that I don’t agree with the reasons we went to war either, but all that goes out the window when some one you adore is fighting that war no one likes. Your focus becomes them and their life, yes you still vote for changes etc but arguments like these become transparent and meaningless. Not nearly important as your loved one’s life. Yes, I’m passionate about this, its my brother that I love dearly, and I’m passionate about the people I love, don’t even get me started about my kids lol
Dwayne Young
The war in Afghanistan is just as unjust as the war in Iraq is in my opinon.
I can’t see how you can be pro one war and anti the other.
What has Afghanistan done to deserve what they got?
Is it because the Taleban supposidly harbour a fugitive that was supposidly “the mastermind” of 9/11…(the same Taleban who wiped out herion production while in power but which now flourishes under “occupation”)
Why not find the “fugitive” and leave the people alone!
The Taleban is the people of Afghanistans problem not the U.S or anyone elses problem. There is no need to meddle in their internal politics.
That is a problem for the people of Afghanistan to solve. The C.I.A has proven links to terrorist organisations…Does this then give permission for countries to go and liberate the people of America from tyranny???
It’s fuckin madness. Both wars are being fought on fraudulent fronts.
Damian Randall
I’m with Dwayne on this one.
Mars Alexandre
About your brother my friend , yes , I agree with you and understand and support your comment , I know that feeling as well, I also went to war but I refused to follow orders as I was fighting for a cause , not for money and I sure faced the consecuences. we all have a choice my friend , it is the beauty of being human … Free will…
M.A.D. Mutual assured destruction … When are humans going to understand that we are 1 species… I know war better than what I would like…pain, suffering, stress , it affects not only the victims and the soldiers , also thousands of families and relatives as it is your case, trust me I know…
I apologize if my comment was some how … offensive… But same as me , hour brother has a choice , we all do , follow , fight and even die is worth if it is for the right reason , to protect those we love , for freedom , for a noble idea . I do not support genocide under any circumstance. Get your brother out of there.
I admire your passion and support and understand your feelings.
Jennifer Marie Williams
Supporting troops also means being there for the families left behind. As achild of a military parent, I understand the psychological damage to the families and soldier this causes. Just as I know the consequences of themnot following orders like a “dumb dog”. If Boston is using this platform to provoke thought or change. What good does the sarcasm and bitching do for the rest who are passers by? I’d rather appear thoughtful, passionate and open to others perspectives than slinging insults whether intentional or not. Of course if the nternet is your alter ego… Makes me wonder what’d you do when the worlds ills are again at your front door. Will you stand and speak for yourself? Or will you look for that Persn in camoflauge to do the dirty work? Or that officer in blue you taunt at rallies? Curious.
Craig Zaidel
***i apologize for the length of this***

paul, it cant possibly mean something ‘exact’ for anyone. the statement itself has been been politicized since september 12th, despite the fact we have been intervening militarily in both afghanistan and iraq since the 1980s. ‘support the troops’ has become a red herring argument for both sides of the spectrum, thus deflecting attention away from why there is such a need for a military presence in the middle east in the first place. you people are debating in a house of mirrors. its sometimes embarrassing to read, but they represent baby steps.

the easiest answer is the right one – the US will never withdraw troops from the middle east because it never has. theyve been there for 30 years already. this is a global, imperialist, strategy set in motion a generation ago. geo-politically, the US govt knew it must maintain their ground, along with corporate and national ties, to stay afloat in latter half of this century. russia has resources that china will need once the mediterranean shipping lanes and, most importantly, pipelines (see afghanistan), will be auctioned to the highest bidder (and by bidder, i mean the one with the biggest gun – a.k.a. the US). the chess pieces just arent already on the board, we are halfway through the match. … See More

most people dont even realize theres a game going on.

the amazing thing about revisionist history is that most people dont read what comes before it, deluded by the belief that as the species evolves so will the integrity of our intentions, or, at least, the integrity of the literate. ironically, history has shown us the opposite, which is why its imperative to absorb as much as we can from all viewpoints and all times.

we sit and read/watch another report of a suicide bomber blowing up a crowded market, or listen to absurd shit-politik and we take our anger to the only place we believe to have a voice… the internet. and we yell things like, ‘tyranny,’ and, ‘no blood for oil,’ and other meaningless statements like, ‘support the troops serving in iraq and afghanistan!’

however, i have friends in those countries right now and i would like to see them again. this is why i suggest that this statement cannot ‘exactly’ mean the same for anyone.

Brian Michael Fall
“Support the Troops” What does it mean? It depends entirely on who says it.
To one, it may mean “shut up, look the other way and let us do what we what, right or wrong.”
To another, it may mean “stop wasting them in foreign lands and bring them home to serve where they’re needed, respected, wanted and loved.”
Whatever reason you say it’s for, the fruit has rotted and fallen off the tree before it even ripened.
Where’s the cheap gas? Where are the shining new democracies of the middle east?… See More
WWII was fought over 6 years covering an entire contintent ( I’m only referring to the European theatre here) involving many countries against an army that even at that time makes the best of today’s middle eastern armies pale in comparison.
I think the relevent question is why the hell isn’t the job done yet?
If you were performing your job in this half-assed manner, you’d have been sacked ages ago.
In short, political and military leaders of today are disgracefully useless, incompetent and inept.
The only I agree with Craig is that it means something different to everyone. The rest goes back to what I said about how all of these political and philisophical discussions become mute when we are waiting for a loved one to come home safely. I appreciate all the positive and understanding comments made. Sitting here debating on facebook ISN’T going to change the world or humanity, living your live positively will. and in one of my lasts posts it should say that he is soon to be A father, I Re-read it and realized it sounded like he was going to be MY father lol
Yeah. Oil and in the name of god. Two perfectly good reasons to wage war *rolls eyes*. Hey, just think, if the world hadn’t used either of those for that very reason, we may only have Hitler to blame for anything, right?
Kristen LeNormand Arute
So much commentary from such uninformed people! Like being an authority on parenting when you don’t have any children of your own! Having an opinion is one thing, but the sarcastic pseudo-intelligent comments are pretty ridiculous. Nicki, my brother-in-law didn’t meet his son until he was 5 months old because he was stationed in Kuwait 19 years ago. It was very difficult on my sister and the whole family. I hope your brother doesn’t have to wait 5 months to meet his baby. I wish him a safe return home.
Thank you so much Kristen! His son is due in December, he is going to to get his mid-your leave for that time but no guarantees, he may have to wait just as long unfortunately.
Kristen LeNormand Arute
Good luck! I hope it works out. And he could be home for Christmas too! 🙂

Support the troops by supporting peace!
Hey, my cousin was 6 months pregnant at the time of 9/11 and was due at work in the north tower that morning. She had morning sickness and missed her commuter rail into Manhattan. Thank the gods for small favors, or I would have lost more than the one relative I did that day (cousin whom I didn’t know related by marriage on one of the planes that went down). My boyfriend is former navy and very proud of it. We all have our reasons to support or not support the military in whatever form. Here, I’ll open a whole new can of worms-Bush was a fucking idiot who should have been shot and put out of our misery.
Yeah but its not the military’s fault, the politicians control the military so its rather ignorant NOT to support our soldiers who are in harm’s way. My brother didn’t cause any conflict with Iraq or Afganistan, but its him over there, (saving lives mind you as a crew chief of a med unit) not bush or any other politicians. Direct your anger at the right people and leave the people who die for YOU out of it.

What does supporting the troops mean? To one Army Mum that has started a program called Operation Desert Swap (a group of people who actively support our troops with letters cards, care packs & books) it means that there are peoples sons/daughters, fathers/mothers, sisters/brothers, nieces/nephews, grandchildren, aunts/uncles, cousins, and friends who are far far from home in conditions that a family member or friend hates to see them in. A dangerous place, a place far different then they are used to, who deserve to be remembered, cared for and appreciated.

To clear the muddy waters you all have created let me tell you that there is a difference between supporting the war(s) and supporting the human beings invovled in it/them. There is a difference between fighting for your country and fighting for your gov’t. You ppl act as tho America is a home of politicians. America is filled w/ millions of ppl, ordinary ppl who want to be protected against terrorism (which includes being terrorized by our gov’t)

Over my dead cold body will my son and the others who serve be treated like my husband was treated when he came home from Vietnam. They are only the game pieces not the game players. Keep your criticism for the players.

For a group of ppl proclaiming love & peace, you sure are filled with hate, intolerance & disrespect….hypocrits.

Now, I am done, for those w/o the brains to figure out what that means, it means I will say no more on this subject.

  • “Now, I am done, for those w/o the brains to figure out what that means, it means I will say no more on this subject.”

BP Note: I love this line. Now I am done and you know what that means? I’m finished. I will say no more… really! That’s it. No more on this subject! The end!

Isn’t it pretty similar, actually, to “support your local convenience store sales clerk”? I mean the functionality is fairly similar right? They both give you things you don’t need at a fraction of what they cost in terms of resource availability. And they both smell of ointment… sometimes. At least my local one does… haven’t smelled any soldiers lately. I think it’s late.
Mars Alexandre
Who ever it is that has a brother overseas …
I see just a blank silhouette with no name on it , so feels like writing to a ghost here …
So what you are basically saying here is that your brother is a volunteer victim of the system , and you are deeply worried about him? (Don’t mean to be rude here bro , I really know what you are going through)
1) Who named US “police of the world”?
2) Why US has troops in the middle east?”Terrorism”? or just has military advantage so can invade any nation that has something US wants…… See More
3) I am not against US , I am against war … ANY WAR! and I do believe at this point of evolution humans SHOULD UNDERSTAND THAT WE ALL SHARE THIS PLANET AND HAVE NOWHERE ELSE TO GO.
4) So they are rebuilding what they messed up , and saving the same people they murdered?
5) No matter the excuse army has to be in foreign land , just the fact they are there it is an invasion.
So , if some bigger nation invade your land and kill your family , would you love that nation?
6)THE GREAT MENACE OF TERRORISM… let me try to find something that actually makes sense on that one… Oh yes … money…
7) So , if 9/11 was a legitimate terrorism attack (With all do respect for the victims and their relatives) means it is a license for murder anywhere any time , even send your brothers and sisters to a living hell and cause pain and death to so many people?
8) Why US military has to make sure no one else has nuclear power? (I AM AGAINST WEAPONS OF ANY KIND)
9)Who can certify that US military has no nuclear weapons? So the rest of the planet can sleep in peace.
10 Gorge Bush … same as Hitler … Will he ever take responsibility for his actions and go to trial?
Brother , your brother is risking his life in a war that is not his war , you are in a horrible pain because of that just to make millions to the Bush family.
Tell me: Are you still support this criminal?
I sure hope your brother returns home safe , you can be sure he will be in my prays.
Leon Rene LaPointe
Go live in Afghanistan… The thing is pre-gulf war II anyone could have lived in Iraq with very little problems in a vaguely secular society… Afghanistan has been fucked for ages. I support the NATO intervention in messed up country that treats its citizens like shit beyond any of the little tears the oh-so oppressed western world has with all these oh-so terrible conspiracies we have all the time in the world to follow, while people are getting their heads chopped off in afghanistan for being gay or a supposed adulterer… Fuck peace, I support moments of calm. Peace is achieved when humans get a new brain or finally die out and replaced by the next bunch ass-munchers.
Mars Alexandre
The world is divided …
Proves that humans are no longer one species…
So sad…
Anyway … internal politics of another country…
How is that US concern? Is it humanity?
Or just a chance to find an excuse for an invasion , stealing resources and make millions?
Well , let me rephrase that…
How is that Gorge Bush concern?
Leon Rene LaPointe
By all of your hippy dippy wishy washy logic we should have allowed the Nazi’s to totally eradicate Europe. People who can afford that form of logic are usually the privledged. The rest of the world has to eat what is put on the plate while we get our panties in a bunch over a slice of meat…
Leon Rene LaPointe
The world aint divided, there ain’t two species of mankind, there is just humans and human problems… In order to remove the problems you must remove the dynamics of the human mind, you must remove variables , you must remove drama, to remove these aspects of the human mind you create machines, peaceful machines at the expense of all this chaos makes us non-human… I would rather live here on this flawed earth than an eternity in heaven or an engineered heaven on earth ran by men who ideologized peace, for heaven if it does exist would very quickly be just like earth if humans are in anyway involved…
Leon Rene LaPointe
Mars Alexandre
Mr. LaPointe:
1) “By all of your hippy dippy wishy washy logic we should have allowed the Nazi’s to totally eradicate Europe.”
ISN’T GORGE BUSH EXACTLY THE SAME AS ADOLF HITLER? (answer depends on which side of the line are you , as everything else is relative , isn’t it?)
2) “People who can afford that form of logic are usually the privileged.”
Maybe , yes , I have two master degrees and very proud to say I made it myself , I was a street child and remember looking for food in the garbage outside the local restaurants , I cleaned toilets to pay for my studies and still now feel I am the same , only have acquired knowledge (in the end , that is all I will take with me , things will remain here)… See More
It is how you rule your thinking , your mind and your heart what makes you get out the hole… and become who you truly are.
But this argument is not about you and me and how different we think as we have no power to change anything , only let go a little bit that bitter feeling all this oil-money war parade has left within all human kind.

Leon Rene LaPointe
George Bush was/is hardly Hitler, as much as that would be nice for us to have a super villian in our generation. Obama is actually the anti-Christ 😛 so touche Hitler!

Your ability to even go and get an education is because of this evil conspiracy against humanity society we live in. I don’t think children in Afghanistan get that option in the slightest unless their parents happen to have tonnes of money. I am not saying that it doesn’t happen, but it would be fair to say that an average impoverished westerner has a better oppurtunity to elevate themselves than one would in Afghanistan prior 911.

The world is not a battle between good and evil or black and white… It is merely a clusterfuck of grey.

Mars Alexandre
Ha! There we go! Yap , have them both and love them both.Well… I can perfectly imagine Bush and Powell “The great dictator” Haaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!!!!!
Leon Rene LaPointe
Mars Alexandre
Mr. LaPointe :
When and where I grew up had very similar conditions to those places you mention (Yes an average of 100 murders a day , and police doing nothing but stealing and assaulting , oppression as you have no idea) Still I will not deny I was lucky to scape…

“The world is not a battle between good and evil or black and white… It is merely a clusterfuck of grey.”
I like this one , and totally agree.

Sure, just ask and I’ll share.
Leon Rene LaPointe
Mars I enjoy finding out your view on these things, trust me I not hell-fire and damnation or even actually concerned about world politics, I do admit that I don’t toe the popular line on a lot of issues though, I am neither democrat or republican. I personally believe that the only real peace a man can hope to achieve is hopefully within his own family or a small group of friends. Strive for the small victories, I guess…

Everyone wins in internet debate!

It is the beauty of free will , my Grand Father used to say : “Respect for others rights and choices is peace”

POLITICS:Military News Network Dialogue: September 11, 2009

1st MNN Dialogue that I was involved in:
I saw that a member of my family, who has a son in the Middle East, was in this group. I went to check it out. Saw some comments made about the steel from the 911 being used to build the Navy Ship: USS New York. Thought I would re-post the comments made by the Patriotic Americans.Feel free to add your thoughts: reports: on this 8th anniversary of 9/11, that steel from the World Trade Center was used in the construction of the new US Navy ship USS New York. The ship’s motto is Never Forget.

Some of the comments that transpired (BP is #17)

2. Glenda Ramos: Wow what a way to Never Forget 911. Awesome!!

3. Heather Milyo Bellantone: Great to hear that! I will never forget seeing those tractor trailers hauling those steel beams on the Staten Island Exp for weeks following 9/11. Good to know some of the beams were used in the construction of the US Navy Ship USS New York. Thank you!! We will never forget!! God Bless!

4. Joe Martino: send it to the middle east and BLOW THE SHIT out of them

5. Fred Shields: republican powers active

6. Steve Compton: Charlie Daniels summed it up best, when he said…. “Dedicated to the memory of the people who did nothing more than go to work on a Tuesday morning. God Bless America.”

Just because the media does not give this kind of attention to our soldiers at home or abroad doesn’t mean they aren’t remembered every day of every week all year long. Since when do we need the media to tell us what and who to remember!

We should never forget that it happened, HOWEVER I don’t need it crammed down my throat and continuously replayed every year. Yes, we remember D-Day, Pearl Harbor Day, etc. but we don’t have to rewatch it to remember. What we need to remember is that it is possible to rehappen, and how to prevent it… not how it happened in the first place.

I don’t mind having 911 as a reminder. We Americans sometimes need a kick in the pants to remind us of the devastating time it was for us and the famlies of there lost ones. The wars are and will always be a reminder, but it was only 8 years ago and it should not have happened to us in this time. Do you realize what is going on in our country? We are at war! Lets not forget it.

I think it’s a great idea for them to let us remember 9/11 …. it is the main reason why we are doing what we are doing in the middle east and YES, we should remind people because it’s easy to forget with all the negative light on the war, it’s good to remind people just what we’re there for. I think it should be done every year. Remember, just because you don’t think it needs to be “crammed down your throat every year”, it’s a good way to remember all the people that died that day and give their families ONE day out of the year to grieve and remember their loved ones. Try to remember to have compassion for the families of every last 3,000 people that lost their life that awful day. I hope we never keep showing and refreshing people’s memory of exactly what this country is made of. GOD BLESS AMERICA!!! And Samia, we do have things every year on Pearl Harbor day, being I lived in Hawaii on the island of O’ahu, it’s still a big deal there.. that’s why the Arizona Memorial (cont’d)

“We may do a little bit of fighting amongst ourselves, but you outside people best leave us alone. Cause we’ll all stick together, you can take that to the bank. That’a the cowboys and the hippies and the rebels and the yanks” – Charlie Daniels. This may not be the exact wording, but it gets the point across. War is the one thing that every person wants to avoid. Especially the front line soldiers. But if we had turned tail and wimpered away, how many other innocent people would have been killed (there were more than just Americans in the towers). I am proud to know that there are the brave men and women in the military that will stand up to the terrorists and take the fight to them and not wait for the fight to come to us. I pray for them every day, but I also know that not all will come home. No matter what our political beliefs, we need to support them.

I love this. It’s so great that they are using the beams from the twin towers to build something so magnificent. I will never forget where I was, what I was doing, or who the first person I called was. That day will stick with me forever. And I think it is great that we remember that day the way we do every year. I hope they never stop doing this for many years to come. Doug Peppers, I love that quote from Charlie Daniels. That is one of the best quotes that I have ever heard. Really sums up America. My thoughts and prayers go out everyday to my nephew who is serving in Iraq right now as a Marine and all those serving with him and their families. May they all come home safe to their loved ones.

A Glen thanks for the stats! As far as Forensics go though, someone should have let the boys do their work before they carted all the evidence away.

But that didn’t happen.

I was wondering if anyone thought it a bit odd, that the steel from the 911 tragedy was gathered up and sent out within a couple of weeks. Much of it was sold to China and some of it was used to make the USS New York.Ground Zero was a crime scene, no one is supposed to touch anything at a crime scene until forensics and other professionals have gathered all the evidence possible to determine what happened.

Cops/Forensics Officers will spend months, sometimes years investigating a murder of ONE person. They go back to the crime scene – left untouched – to gather as much evidence as they can, sometimes the scene is left alone just in case there is new evidence to be found. How is it then that the murder of 3000 people was investigated for less than a couple of weeks and then much of the crime scene’s evidence (the steel) was sold to a Communist country?…

Food for thought.

Politics: Military News Network Dialogue~ TOPIC: Photos from the Frontlines/January 20, 2010

This thread is an interesting one.

Observe the reactions/responses of Patriots (often Conservative, Fundamentalist, Protestant Christian somehow connected to the Military) when asked about America’s Wars in The Middle East.

We pray that they do not represent the majority of Americans.

In this thread, observe the reactions of the ‘Patriots’ when I ask why we are in the Middle East. Not one of them answers my Questions. I am trying to get my head around how me asking a simple Question: ‘Why is the U.S. in is in the Middle East’ equates with ‘not Supporting the Troops’.

Interesting Read…

Read on…

Thread from MNN:

  • says new photos from the frontlines includes Soldiers from the 4th and 17th Cavalry Regiments and the 501st Infantry Regiment, Marines at Observation Post Huskars, Marines of 2/2, and more!
GOD BLESS THE TROOPS! keep watch of them and bring them all home safely !

come on? If you don’t know by now, they could bite you in the a– and you still wouldn’t get it.
Ann P. Lee
You know Boston Paul if you don’t like what our military personnel do by leaving their families & going to foreign soil to protect our borders from afar, and help rid those countries of the the Al-Quaeda/Taliban morons, then you need to get off your ASS & move to another country! Stop berating families who care for this country AND LOVE THEIR LOVED ONES & WHO BELIEVE IN GOD, not some metaphysical being! I am the grandmother of a 20-yr. old Marine and don’t tolerate you peace loving hippie styles!
Carl Hendricks
Lisa Governo
God Bless You Ann P. Lee…I agree with you, Boston Paul has no right to call himself an American…move to Afghanistan and maybe you’d appreciate our soldiers. My son is in Afghanistan fighting for your freedom and I can’t believe there are people like you who don’t appreciate the sacrifices they and their families make, just hoping they will come home safe. Boston Paul you should be ashamed of yourself!
*My Note: I asked a Question.  Why should I be ashamed of myself for asking a Question?

Boston Paul

Greetings all.
None of you have answered my Question.

If you feel I am not a Good American (UNAmerican), you must also feel that Thomas Jefferson was UnAmerican as well.

Thomas Jefferson gave us the Go Ahead on asking Questions like this.

I served my Country with the élite 82nd Airborne Division for 4 years.

I am a combat vet.

Call me a Militant Hippie then.

Bombarding people with Nationalistic Rhetoric (as you have done) to People who ask questions is Un American.

Freedom of Speech and Freedom to Question the Government. The U.S. Constitution &  Bill of Rights demands this.

Ann P.: You don’t like Peace Lovers (be them Hippie or not)?

That answers my question in part then.

Would anyone care to give me intelligent answers to my Questions?

(I have added a couple more)

1. How is the American Military protecting our Freedoms in another country?

2. Why is the US Military in The Middle East in the first place?

3. Where are you getting your Information concerning Military Activities in the Middle East?

I do appreciate your thoughtful responses.

Lisa, I was in Afghanistan in the 80’s when America was ‘friends’ with the Taliban.

Then, the Taliban were called the Mujahideen.

Does anyone remember the Rambo Movie when he was fighting with the ‘Freedom Fighters’ against Russia?

Well that was Rambo helping out the Mujahideen that later became the Taliban.

Does anyone here know the history of Afghanistan?

Have you thought about how one minute they can be friends of the US and the next they are foe?

Is there anyone here on this thread intelligent enough to discuss my questions above?

Don’t we all want Truth? In the Search for Truth, we must all agree to disagree.

There is no need for mudslinging and name calling in scholarly discourse.

Why did the American Government Invade (and are now Occupying) countries in the Middle East?

Are you a real American? Then ask these Questions and find Answers!

This is what Real Americans do.

The Fathers of America demanded this.

They included it in our Constitution and our Bill of Rights.

Stop with the Fox News dribble, the Glenn Beck Spew and all that other Ridiculous Rhetoric many of you regurgitate from the Corporate Media.

Think for yourselves. The ‘Fathers’ of America did.

Boston Paul
As usual, the silent ‘moral majority’ is silent.

Steve George
I respect those soldiers who think they are fighting for freedom. With those brave young Americans in mind I think the question is important – how are they keeping us safe?

They are being treated unfairly and lied to by their own government.

It’s not their fault.

The government is risking the lives of the soldiers that so many of you know and love. I think that you owe it to your loved ones to question your government. Support the troops and keep them from unnecessary harm and danger.

The US military is not keeping America safe by invading other countries.

They are Stirring hatred and creating terrorism – desperate, angry people from war ravaged countries are going to fight back.

I’m sure that most of you would prefer that your loved ones were at home instead of overseas fighting. So would I.

Ann, was that some sort of typo, or did you really say that you don’t tolerate peace-lovers? Shouldn’t we all hope for Peace, even if we disagree about how to achieve it?

God Bless each and every one of our troops and thank you for keeping us free you are all in my prayers
Boston Paul
Greetings Kwinn! Besides Fox News and any of the corporate media outlets, do you have any evidence?

Who were the Terrorists that flew the planes into the Towers?

Why did America Invade Iraq then?

Iraq had nothing to do with 911.
America invaded the country of Iraq under suspicion that they ‘might’ have weapons of mass destruction (again NOT because of 911).

Weapons were never found.

Why is the US still Occupying this country then?

Appreciate the thoughtful response.

LaTonia Huckabee
Ok Boston Bettis , you sound like a muslim loving freak , why dont you go and stand in front of our troops you idiot and see how much love those murders give you . YOU ARE DISPICABLE get off the computer before you really piss me off !!!!!!!!!!!!
Linda Yaeger
LaTonia be respectful of others and it migt help us all. Not everyone who ha an opinion is a lover of an enemy and not every Muslim is a terrorist. That kind of thinking creates wars nd I love and respect te troops too much to put them in more harms way because of thet kind of dislike/hate.
LiAnna Mearing
Ok BOSTON, Seriously if you don’t like what we are doing why don’t you go over and try to reason with them. I wouldn’t mind you standing between my husband and the enemies guns!!!!!!! Lets see if they listen to you or just shoot you in the face! I bet they don’t give two shits about what you would have to say.
LaTonia Huckabee
I dont repect any one that dont know who flew the planes into the towers , did you read his comment ! Maybe you should re read it , and if you think it puts our troops in harms way for me not to like muslims , then maybe you better rethink a few things ,do you think they love you ? I have a grandson in the Military that has been to Iraq to protect the rights of idiots to say stupid things , does that ring a bell ?
Boston Paul
Thank you Linda and very well said.

Greetings LaTonia.

LaTonia, you did not answer my questions and calling people names gets us no where in scholarly discourse.

Do you think you could mull it over a bit LaTonia?

A real American asks Questions like these. The Fathers of America encouraged that we always question our government.

Most American do not really know why we are there.

I would like to here your thoughts.

We all want Peace (one hopes). We all want to get our Troops back on American Soil. We should find ways to do that, and one way to get them home is to ask, why are they there in the first place?

Your Thoughts?

Could you please humor me and tell me who was responsible for flying those planes into the towers, and please include a source.

Fox news and the like are not reliable sources.

I am enjoying the discourse with you in our pursuit of Truth.

Boston Paul
  • Greetings Kay. Actually, I have not given an opinion, jack-ass or otherwise. I asked a few questions (see above) and still no one has been able to answer them.

I have been posting here for a few months, I have asked this question quite a few times, and so far no one has answered the questions I ask. Why not?

    Real Americans Question their Government.

Here are a few quotes from someone we all know:

“The spirit of resistance to government is so valuable on certain occasions, that I wish it always to be kept alive.”

“The will of the people is the only legitimate foundation of any government, and to protect its free expression should be our first object.”

“Conquest is not in our principles. It is inconsistent with our government.”

“Educate and inform the whole mass of the people… They are the only sure reliance for the preservation of our liberty.”

“I predict future happiness for Americans if they can prevent the government from wasting the labors of the people under the pretense of taking care of them.”

“That government is best which governs the least, because its people discipline themselves”

“War is an instrument entirely inefficient toward redressing wrong; and multiplies, instead of indemnifying losses. “

“When the people fear their government, there is tyranny; when the government fears the people, there is liberty”

    ~All Quotes: Thomas Jefferson.

    Why is America in Iraq?

    Why is America in Afghanistan?

Explain how American Troops are protecting our Freedoms by invading and Occupying 2 countries?

    Fellow Patriots: Your Thoughts?

Boston Paul

  • Here are a couple more…

“Am I not destroying my enemies when I make friends of them?”

“America will never be destroyed from the outside. If we falter and lose our freedoms, it will be because we destroyed ourselves.”

    Abraham Lincoln

    Knowledge is Power.

    Always Question Authority.

Elaina Jordan Robinson
I wish everyone piece of mind and to believe that your families are holding it down for u. There is support here and we will not let u down. Be safe and thank you.
LaTonia Huckabee
I will leave one last comment as too the idiots writing here , like Boston Paul and Linda , do not call me your fellow patriot, we have different beliefs and you sound like an uninformed pholosipher on crack . Keep your stupid remarks to yourself . OUR TROOPS ARE THE GREATEST IN THE WORLD AND DONT NEED STUPID COMMENTS BY YOU OR ANY OTHER NUT CASE . GOD BLESS OUR TROOPS AND KEEP THEM SAFE …OOHRAH
Kay Collins
Boston I did not or choose not come to this site to answer your questions,I don,t owe you any answers, once again let us get our military news and send our blessings to the troops! So what is your point of your input,my opinion to argue or debate your thoughts,I think u are a jackass and thats my opinion, just as you have yours,
Boston Paul
Kay, Latonia, I am simply asking questions. Which to date, no one has actually answered. I have not stated any opinions. I have not said anything negative about the Troops.

And speaking of the Troops…

I know all about the Soldier and their lives and the Sacrifices they make. I was in the 82nd Airborne for 4 years and I am a combat vet. Kay and LaTonia, I assume neither of you have ever been in Combat (and though you may have loved ones in the Sandbox and emotions run high, you will never know what we Troopers go through)…. See More

The beauty of a Child is that they are never afraid to ask questions. We lose that as adults. I’m not sure why. But perhaps it is because when someone does ask a Question, they are berated, ridiculed and scorned.

I ask anyway. As we all should.

Indeed Kay, you did not come to this site to answer my questions, you could have ignored me completely as most have done in this thread. You don’t owe me any answers, but you did choose to engage, spew your sentiment and yet still not address the very direct Questions that I have asked.

LaTonia, ‘Uninformed Philosopher on Crack’. Well done! I am using this one. That being said, since I am uninformed, I am asking these questions… perhaps someone could inform me?

Bring me up to speed?

I have been living abroad for a good many years and am trying to get my head around these Questions – see above.

Peace and Much Love to all of you.

The Dangers of (Bovine) Milk

The Dangers of Bovine Milk

The purpose of this article is to let Readers know about the Dangers of Bovine Milk and dispel any Myths.

MILK: Nothing For Everybody I first introduced this topic in The Taichung Voice June 2008 (Vol. 5 Issue 6).

Milk is UNhealthy and long-term use could be detrimental. I know this may be hard to swallow since we have been brainwashed since children to believe that milk is good for us. This report includes detailed information on a substance that is Taboo to talk about negatively in the Mainstream Media.
The DANGERS of Milk. Milk? You ask.
I grew up on milk! You exclaim.
It’s healthy! You cry out.
It MUST be good for me! The Commercials say it’s true!

How did Milk get to the status it enjoys now? Good marketing to be sure. Not just from the corporations, but even the Bible talks about the Land of Milk and Honey… Now who can argue with GOD? I won’t get into the Bible here, but there was definitely meaning Lost in Translation. I mean, really, ask yourself:

How Natural &  Healthy is an animal’s milk for a Human?

When a puppy is weaned off its Momma’s Milk, does it seek the milk of a goat or a cat? Why do people think drinking milk from an animal is Natural, yet when a pregnant woman (for fun – and I have seen this) asks: Would you like to try some of my milk? People crinkle their noses and shudder? They would rather drink milk from another species than from their own?!

Think about that.

Generally, mammals are exclusively breast-fed until they have tripled their birth weight, which in Human Infants occurs around the age of one year-ish (though there are no adverse effects in drinking Mother’s milk until after two years old.) In no mammalian species, except for the Human, is Milk consumption continued after the weaning period. NONE. Calves thrive on cow milk. Cow’s milk is for baby cows. Human milk is specific for the development of the Brain. Bovine milk is specific for rapid body growth for the calf. So yes, there are stats for breast-fed babies on average having higher I.Qs than an Infant that was raised on cow milk or formula. No pun intended, but it seems to be a no-brainer! More on Breasts Part 5 below. I’ve broken my terrific, titillating tirade into 7 parts:

  • 1. What We’re Led To Believe
  • 2. What’s in Milk and its Dangers
  • 3. The Milk Industry Politics & why the Korporation is full of Bull-dung
  • 4. Milk Alternatives
  • 5. Breast Milk
  • 6. Conclusion
  • 7. References

1.What We’re Led To Believe

The advantages of milk, they say, are numerous. Millions of dollars a year are spent in corporate advertising so that We the People are kept up to date on the ‘value’ of milk. The corporation spends these millions of dollars every year because they’re selling a Product. They won’t tell you the adverse effects of milk because it’s not in their best interest. It’s business. Let’s break down what we’re led to believe. We are told that the benefits of drinking milk include:

  • CALCIUM: The myth is that the calcium in milk builds strong teeth & bones. What they don’t tell you is that you need vitamin D and magnesium to synthesize the calcium. That is why you see “Vitamin enriched!” on the bottles.

If milk is the Perfect Food, as the industry claims, then why are they adding vitamins to it?

*NOTE: synthetic vitamin D is known to be toxic to the liver.

Do we really need milk calcium for strong bones & teeth? Have you ever thought where the cows get calcium for their big bones? The calcium they consume from plants has a large amount of magnesium which is necessary for the body to absorb to use the calcium.

The calcium in cow’s milk is basically useless because it’s lacking magnesium content. Isn’t it interesting that those nations with the highest amount of milk/dairy consumption also have the highest rates of osteoporosis?

Although the calcium & protein in milk are important nutrients, telling us that dairy sources of calcium are required for strong bones is pathetic.

You’re probably wondering what happens to your bones & teeth if you stop drinking milk.

The majority of the world’s Population takes in less than half the calcium that Americans do and much of the world Population is also to some degree lactose intolerant.

There is a reason why most of the world is lactose intolerant.

This is Nature’s way of telling us enough is enough.

  • PROTEIN: Ok, so you might think; I drink milk for the protein benefits! Let’s look at that for a moment too. Milk has been called “liquid meat” because of its high protein content. BUT the way bovine milk has evolved (proteins working in concert together), actually leaches the calcium from the body. Countries that consume high protein diets (meat, milk and dairy) have the highest rates of osteoporosis.

*Also please note that 80% of the protein in milk is casein. Read about that below. It’s a Myth that you need to eat meat or drink milk for Protein. Protein is in everything. *Also note that some of the biggest Land Mammals on Earth- the elephant for example –  are Vegetarian. Where do they get their protein? We are told that we need to consume milk to prevent bone diseases, yet if we consider what happens in Nature we can look to our Paleolithic ancestors; these skeletal remains reflect great strength, muscularity (the size of the muscular insertions show this), and total absence of advanced osteoporosis. We should consider this since our modern Human genes are programming our bodies in almost exactly the same way as our ancestors of 50,000 years ago.

When do mammals excrete Milk? If I walked up to a woman with a cup asking for some of her milk, would she be able to part with a bit? ANSWER: Only if she was pregnant, and er…  willing. Are we then to believe that millions of cows stay pregnant all year long and year upon year? Of course not. How are they able to produce all this Milk then? Un-natural ways to be sure!

2.What’s in Milk and its Dangers

The UN-informed may think that Milk is the secretion of a Cow intended for human consumption (isn’t it interesting that we automatically think “cow” milk when we hear the word milk) and that there is Protein & Calcium in milk which is good for a Human’s muscles & bones. They may urge you to drink quantities of it. Indeed, there is calcium & protein in milk, as discussed earlier, but we have learned that it doesn’t matter because our bodies have better/safer ways to get these Nutrients. If you’re drinking milk because of what’s in it… …then let me tell you what else is in Milk:

  • BACTERIA from FECES: Cow’s milk is allowed to have a bit of poo in it. This is a major source for the bacteria in your milk. Milk is typically pasteurized more than once before it gets to your table… each time for only 15 seconds at 162 degrees Fahrenheit. To sanitize water, it should boil (212 degrees F) for several minutes. Hhmmm. At room temperature the number of bacteria in milk doubles about every 20 minutes.

That’s why milk quickly turns rotten.

  • PUS: A cubic centimeter (cc) of commercial cow’s milk is allowed to have up to 750,000 somatic cells (i.e. pus) and 20,000 live bacteria… before it is kept off the market. That amounts to 20 million live bacteria and up to 750 MILLION pus cells per liter.

Would you suck the pus out of someone’s wound?

Would you rather suck it off a cow?

  • CASEIN: Casein is a powerful binder… a polymer used to make plastics… in other words, a glue that’s better used to make little projects with kindergarten kids or stick labels on beer bottles. Casein is in thousands of processed foods as a binder. Look for it as ‘something’ caseinate. Casein is a powerful allergen… a histamine. 80% of the protein in milk is casein.

  • Growth Factor ONE (IGF-1): By a freak of nature, IGF-1 is identical in cows and humans. Consider this hormone to be a “fuel cell” for any cancer. Even the medical world says IGF-1 is a key factor in the rapid growth and proliferation of breast, prostate and colon cancers. Many scientists suspect that most likely it will be found to promote ALL cancers. IGF-1 is a normal part of ALL milk… because a newborn is supposed to grow quickly.
  • Bovine Growth Hormone (BGH): This is the latest high-tech onslaught on the poor cow. The government agency that’s supposed to protect The People from harm concerning food & drugs AND has not failed to make itself the Laughing Stock of the World, is called the FDA. If the FDA had not been guilty of approving drugs in the past that have actually killed people or made them sicker (oops we better RECALL that drug!), they’d certainly be comical.

Unfortunately, they’re not to be taken lightly. BGH is FDA approved and used by dairy farmers to increase their milk production. BGH also decreases the body fat of cows. Unfortunately, the body fat of cows is already contaminated with a wide range of carcinogens, pesticides, dioxin, and antibiotic residues. When the cows have less body fat, these toxic substances are then transported into the cows’ milk. Bovine Growth Hormone (BGH) is a genetically engineered drug that is supposed to stimulate milk production but, according to Monsanto, the hormone’s manufacturer, does not affect the milk or meat (coming from Monsanto Corporation… look at their track record… I smell BS). There have been no long-term studies on the hormone’s effect on humans drinking the milk. Other countries have banned BGH because of safety concerns. One of the problems with adding molecules to a milk-cow’s body is that the molecules usually come out in the milk. I don’t know how you feel, but I don’t want to experiment with the ingestion of a growth hormone. A related problem is that it causes a marked increase (50 to 70 per cent) in mastitis. This, then, requires antibiotic therapy, and the residues of the antibiotics appear in the milk.

  • Posilac: Cows have been tweaked and shot-up with Posilac to produce up to 55 or more pounds of milk per day… almost all year long.
  • Estrogen: Cows are milked even while they are pregnant. As a result of the pregnancy, cows secrete high levels of estrogen into their milk. This is very interesting because 10 year old girls in America are developing breasts and ‘maturing’ earlier and earlier… and so are the boys.
  • Anti-biotics: Because of the living conditions of milking cows, they are often sick or carrying diseases (which you also ingest) they’re shot up full of medicine that is ingested every time you pour yourself a glass or use it in your corn flakes.
  • Cow Blood/Pus: This is pretty gross. The inspectors are asked to keep it under certain limits. The USDA allows milk to contain from up to one and a half million white blood cells per millilitre. The white stuff that oozes out of scabs is also found in your milk.
  • LIQUAMYOCIN 200. The FDA recently approved this powerful liquid antibiotic for lactating dairy cows.

The U.S. government does not deny the above information. They support what’s revealed here by ‘allowing’ a certain amount of it in your milk. They have ‘standards’ to ensure you are not getting ‘too much’ of these substances in your milk. I equate this with the following example: If I were to make a chocolate cake and put just a minute bit of dog feces in it and then bake it… would you eat it? There would be no smell, you wouldn’t taste it, but you knew it was there. You are getting lots more than that in your milk.

The Adverse Effects of Milk:

1. CROHN’S DISEASE: Mycobacterium paratuberculosis causes a bovine disease called “Johne’s.” Cows diagnosed with Johne’s Disease have diarrhea, and heavy fecal shedding of bacteria. This bacteria becomes cultured in milk, and is not destroyed by pasteurization. Occasionally, the milk-borne bacteria will begin to grow in the human host, and the results are irritable bowel syndrome and Crohn’s Disease.

2. MAD COW DISEASE: There may also be prions (PREons) in milk and meat. This crystalline substance acts like a virus with an “incubation” period of 5 to 30 years. So that steak you ate last night could manifest itself in your body and make you into an incapacitated dribbling invalid in a few years and there is nothing you can do about it.

Medium rare please…

3. POLLUTION: There are over 9 million dairy cows in the U.S. A cow excretes around 275 pound of urine and feces per day for a daily total of 2.53 BILLION pounds of pollution. Per year… that amounts to around 923 billion pounds of UNTREATED pollution entering our streams, rivers, lakes… and drinking water systems (add that to the extremely toxic fluoride they put into the water and you have quite the cocktail.).

4. OTHER DISEASES and DISORDERS: Cow’s milk is the number one allergic food in this country. It’s been well documented as a cause in diarrhea, cramps, bloating, gas, gastrointestinal bleeding, iron-deficiency anemia, skin rashes, atherosclerosis, and acne. It’s the primary cause of recurrent ear infections in children. It’s also been linked to insulin dependent diabetes, rheumatoid arthritis, infertility, and leukemia. According to Consumer Advocate, Mike Adams; milk consumption is linked with constipation, sinusitis, digestive disorders and hearing disorders.

3. The Milk Industry * Politix * Corporations full of Cow-dung

Do you remember the “Basic Food Groups Pyramid?” I remember these charts in the classroom.  Dairy was usually placed near the top. What I didn’t know, and what most of us don’t think about, is that the dairy industry provided the chart for free! Here are a few tidbits concerning what goes on behind the ‘milk’ scene:

  • 1. Corporate-owned factories where cows are warehoused and treated like milk machines have replaced most small family farms. Fifty years ago an average cow produced 2,000 pounds of milk per year. Today the top producers give 50,000 pounds. Over 20 times more than they would produce naturally.

How was this accomplished?

Drugs, antibiotics, hormones, forced feeding plans and specialized breeding with genetic manipulation and intensive production technologies. To keep milk production as high as possible, farmers artificially inseminate cows every year. Growth hormones and unnatural milking schedules cause dairy cows’ udders to become painful and so heavy that they sometimes drag on the ground, resulting in bleeding and frequent infections, thus the overuse of antibiotics.

You are drinking all this.

Cows— like all mammals— make milk to feed their calves— not humans.

  • 2. The American Dairy Board has done a very effective job of marketing this product. Most people believe they need to consume large, daily quantities of milk to achieve good health and as we are learning: NOTHING could be further from the Truth.
  • 3. MONSANTO (Monsanto Chemical Co.), maker of fine poisons such as DDT, agent orange, Roundup, rbGH (Posilac), and more… spent half a billion dollars inventing a shot to inject into cows.
  • 4. After genetically engineering BGH, Monsanto learned that cows were getting mastitis, painful ulcers on their udders which resulted in an increase in pus, blood and bacteria in milk. Monsanto arranged to have their top scientist, Margaret Miller, who was hired by the FDA. She reviewed her own research. Aware that dairy farmers would have to treat cows with more antibiotics, Miller simply raised the allowable levels of antimicrobials farmers could put in milk. Corporations do this ALL THE TIME.
  • 5. The Dairy Industry is big business, with milk sales over $11 billion annually in the USA alone. Expect hard-line marketing from them. Would one expect them to aggressively sell their products if they were known to be harmful to people, especially to women & children?

The Dairy Management Inc.’s purpose is to build demand for dairy products on behalf of America’s 80,000-plus dairy producers.

  • 6. A vice president for public policy at Monsanto was opposed to labeling because the labeling would create an ‘artificial distinction’. In other words, people using Monsanto products (and you use many of them whether you realize it or not), do not know what is going into their body.

Why not give conscience labeling? Are there any reasons why a company would not want to label what is in their product?

I can only think of one answer why.

  • 7. If you are an American vegan, you’re paying for dairy products! The industry produces more milk than consumed. Tax payers pay for storage costs because the law requires the USDA to buy any surplus of butter, cheese, or non-fat dry milk at a support price set by Congress! For example, in 1991, the USDA spent $757 million on surplus butter, and one billion dollars a year on average for price supports during the 1980s (Consumer Reports, May 1992: 330-32).
  • 8. The dairy industry is diligently trying to convince humans that a nutritionally formulated beverage designed for baby cows should be routinely consumed by human beings.
  • 9. Authorities test for only 4 of the 82 drugs in dairy cows. Yet the Milk Industry Foundation’s spokesman, Jerome Kozak claims, “I still think that milk is the safest product we have.”

Question Authority.

  • 10. The United States General Accounting Office (GAO) tells us that the FDA and the individual States are failing to protect the public from drug residues in milk.
  • 11. Michael Hansen of Consumers Reports testified and brought attention to Congressional committees that 52 drugs are known to be used as antibiotics to treat mastitis. According to Consumer’s Union, FDA had approved only 30 of those antibiotics. Milk is routinely tested for the presence of six different antibiotics. Farmers are aware of the antibiotics being tested. Could they be tempted to use any of the other 46 not currently being tested?
  • 12. When something doesn’t work for the dairy industry, the FDA often helps private industry by changing the standard. This does not make the product any safer but it does allow the FDA to officially state that the drug residue is “well within safe levels.” This is usually done at the expense of the consumer.
  • 13. In her book Food Politics, Marion Nestle writes how lobbyists have influenced the government’s nutritional guidelines. “It’s the profit motive;” she explains in her book. “Food lobbyists ask government officials to make rules or laws that will benefit their clients’ companies, whether or not they benefit anyone else.” If a particular type of food gets the governments’ stamp of approval, then sales will probably increase. The dairy industry spends millions promoting consumption, such as the “Got Milk” ad campaign. Most recently there have been charges that the dairy industry is trying to boost sales by claiming that eating more dairy helps with weight control.

  • 14. The milk of each of the over 4,700 mammals on earth is formulated specifically for that species. There are special lactoferrins and immunoglobulins (cow specific immunizing stuff) that in humans serve as allergens.

Doctors tell pregnant women that they should not take any medicines and be careful what’s put into their body, toxins in lactating mothers are transferred to the baby. All lactating mammals can excrete toxins through their milk. Why is it then that milk with all these toxins are deemed safe for humans?

This is absolutely RIDICULOUS.

Why don’t people think about this? When you drink bovine milk, YOU ARE DRINKING antibiotics, pesticides, chemicals and hormones. No matter how healthy you think milk is for you, it DOES have these poisons it. Why would they still sell it then? Because The CORPORATIONS DO NOT CARE ABOUT YOU.  They care about profits. Will the FDA protect you? Hell no. Many higher-ups in the FDA were also in private business and visa versa… it’s about money & power. It’s a club for the chosen few… and we’ll never get membership to that club… unless of course you’re an apathetic moron and are willing to hurt others so you prosper. There is no lack of scientific information on the subject of milk. The information many Truth Seekers have read is appalling. Concerning scientific studies, no independent scientist publishing a report on milk promotes cow’s milk as an excellent food that is free of side-effects. We’ve been led to believe by the industry that milk is the perfect food. But as I have shown,  indeed (cow) milk is NOT the perfect food.

4. Milk Alternatives

While the focus on calcium intake appears to have resulted from the prevalence of osteoporosis among Caucasian women (and the influence of the dairy industry), this isn’t to say that a certain amount of dietary calcium isn’t needed by those in other demographic groups. However, calcium is readily available in sources other than dairy products. What do green leafy vegetables such as broccoli, Brussels sprouts, mustard greens, kale, turnip greens, beans (e.g., pinto beans, black-eyed peas, and navy beans), bean products (such as tofu) and collards have in common? They’re rich in a form of calcium whose absorption is better than that of milk with advantages (excellent sources of phytochemicals and antioxidants, containing little fat, no cholesterol, and no animal protein) that dairy products lack.

5. Breast Milk

Babies who are fed bovine based formula have: *5x the risk of dying of SIDS *6 to10x the risk of developing necrotizing enterocolitis *45 to 4x the risk of developing various common childhood cancers (depending on the type of cancer) *6x the risk of diarrhea *3x the risk of respiratory illnesses *5x the risk of infections in infants in the intensive care unit *6x the duration of upper respiratory infections in preemies *3 to 4x the risk of ear infection *10x the risk of being hospitalized for any bacterial infection *Lower IQ score by 7 to 10 points Formula fed babies also have higher risks of the following: * sepsis and meningitis due to enterobacter sakazakii (a frequent contaminant in powdered formula) * diabetes; formula feeding accounts for up to 26% of insulin dependent diabetes mellitus in children * high blood pressure * apnea *double the episodes of oxygen desaturation *less growth * longer hospital stays * weight problems including obesity * poorer vision *need for orthodontics * tonsillectomies * contracting influenza * pneumonia * respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) * gastrointestinal infections *allergies *Chron’s disease *ulcerative colitis in adulthood *severe vaccine reactions *kidney problems *appendicitis *juvenile rheumatoid arthritis *eczema

The list goes on.

Mothers who do not breastfeed have a higher risk of: *postpartum hemorrhage *having another child before she is ready (exclusive breastfeeding is 97-99% *effective in preventing pregnancy) *slower loss of pregnancy weight *breast cancer *ovarian cancer *uterine cancer *osteoporosis *high cholesterol *high blood pressure *coronary artery disease *of postpartum depression and psychosis… and more. (*please search these stats for yourself!)

6. Conclusion

Human milk is ‘designed’ specifically for humans. It has the right amount of nutrients in it for Brain Development. Human milk is for the development of Human Brain. Humans must think to survive. Bovine milk is for the calf to become big as possible as fast as possible. Cows are dumb animals. So yes, a baby drinking mother’s on average will have a higher IQ than a baby who has had formula. It’s a no-brainer (this time the pun was intended). Vegetarians will need about 50% less calcium than meat-eaters because they lose much less calcium in their urine. People always ask vegetarians, ‘if you don’t eat meat where do you get your protein from? (Especially if one is not your stereotypical, skinny vegetarian) Remember,  EVERYTHING has protein in it. How do you think those big lumbering cows (before humans injected hormones, fed them meat, did not let them exercise. ETC) get their protein? We do a lot of things we are not supposed to do as a Species. Often we do this out of naiveté, ignorance or brainwashing (subtle and otherwise). Many of us are resistant to change or feel that our one voice does not make a difference. Those who seek Truth are often shunned, ridiculed or ignored. We have developed considerably as a species over the last few hundred thousand years, yet we still hold on to what Timothy Leary called 2nd circuitry (mammalian) thinking. We have the ability to use our Minds rationally & logically. We have the ability to Reason, and all we need is Good Information to be able to make rational, logical decisions about how we lead our lives.

Always Question what you believe and always question Authority.

Absolutely awesome! Thank you so much for you time putting this up to educate us. I need to send this to my mother, I hope you don’t mind. Poor cows. Poor people. PS. Why do you spell America and corporation with a k? Just curious.
I read a book called Fit For Life and it made similar arguments, although not as in depth, as you. I printed this off for the family. I’ve been looking for an article like this to offer them in an attempt to stop the madness.

POLITICS: OWNERSHIP. Do you really own your House/Land?

Discussion about Land Ownership we had over at from F.Book.
The Comments are Excellent.
Please leave your Thoughts.
The Question:
OWNERSHIP: For those who have bought a house/land or are thinking of buying a house/land:
Do you really ‘own’ that house/land?
Some say you do not.

Your Thoughts?

1. Helen Gu: well-asked!

2. Daniel Ship: I’ve always thought it was an arrogant and extremely destructive concept — ownership. Having said that, I would love to have my own island somewhere with coconuts and fish and a garden!

3. Tobie Openshaw: If you’ve paid for it, the deed is signed over to you, then yes, you “own” it in a legal sense. And you could say “Oh well, I don’t REALLY own this land you know, it belongs to the greater cosmos.” but only until someone lese comes along and tries to run you off it. Then there’s of course also teh idea that if you have occupied land for a period of time, worked it and developed it, put in your sweat and toil, that that somehow gives you ownership rights of it.

4. Thomas Steenson: The oligarchy of each nation actually owns the allodial title to land. You pay taxes (rent) directly to them who own the banks. They have the monopoly of murderous violence by which they “protect” your property rights within their zoo.
If you did actually own the allodial title to someplace, YOU would be the King, and you could make your own law and so on.

5. Boston Paul: Tobie, what happens when you don’t pay taxes on that land/house? 😉

Thomas, I was waiting for you bro… I needed to learn the word ‘allodial’ again. Thanks. Hope to see you soon.

Daniel bro… when you get that Island let me know.

I’ll help build.

Looking for those who have bought a house to pipe up. 😉

6. Michael T. Lane: I own a house. Well, no I don’t. In Taiwan, for a foreigner to own land is a process far too long and arduous to undertake when you can just own it in a spouse’s name. But we own it as far as the bank goes. It’s ours to do with as we will and our burden to bear if we don’t make the monthly payments.
I don’t know how I feel about whether I own the house or the land, but I do know for certain that I own my “home”. Anyone comes on “my land” unwelcome, I will call the cops and settle it judiciously. Anyone comes in my home unwelcome and I won’t think twice about driving them out in a far less civilized manner.

7. Tobie Openshaw: If you don’t pay the taxes etc. to which you agreed to in the democratic system, then you could lose ownership of your property, yes. The state does have that right (and that right also protects YOU if you are the wronged one.)

Oh and yes I owned a house before.

8. Dwayne Young: What if ya own ya house and then the Govt. decides to put a highway through where your house and land is situated?
You have no say,you have to sell your house to them for the said price…is that really owning your house/land?
This is happening to people here in Auckland now and i know it happened in China prior to the Olympics.

9. Boston Paul: I bought a pen. It is mine. I own it. I can do what I want with it. It’s mine. The tax I paid was included in the payment.
A ‘home’ is a bit of an abstract concept.
A home is something we make and it can be anywhere.
Interestingly the translation of home in Chinese is ‘jia’ which also means ‘family’ while a ‘house’ is a ‘fangzi’, the Chinese separate the two.
Tobie, did we actually agree? Did we do so reluctantly or unwittingly? If the State can take it away for whatever reason, then it is not actually ours, then is it? At least I am sure of my trusty pen. 😉
Dwayne hit the nail on the head there.
Owning a House is then a Fallacy or Farce, isn’t it?

10. James Murray: The state could just as easily take away ‘your’ pen, should they pass legislature to that effect… All ownership is conditional, houses and other fixed assets are not in a unique category of ownership…

11. Lance Carroll: unless the government or some form of law needs that pen more then you – then you forfeit the right to the pen based upon Eminent domain.

12. Cousin Avi 1. Don’t take legal advice from people who don’t know what the fuck they’re talking about. Especially people with silly ass notions about squatters eventually gaining ownership by the application of effort over time. It ain’t that simple.
2. You can only buy the rights that are owned by the vendor. For example, if they own a share, or a life estate, or some other form of limited rights, that’s all they can sell you. If you want to own the property in fee simple, you need to be certain the vendor can convey same (and is so doing). This requires the services of competent counsel.
3. Ownership in fee simple may or may not include the mineral rights, water rights, air space, etc., depending on statute in the jurisdiction.
Seek legal advice

13. Alonzo Lively: The taxes are the simple truth about land or property, as well as the self serving oligarchy’s that are practically every government of the world. You can never truly “own” anything from a car to property. It’s like getting taxed to build a highway and then getting a toll to drive on it. You built it with tax money yet you need to pay for it again and again to drive on it. It’s the same for houses. You buy it but if you don’t pay the taxes even if you own it the governments of most nations will simply take it from you regardless of situation. So the actual concept of ownership of anything is just an illusion.

You basically own yourself sort of, and if you don’t pay taxes of some sort you can have your freedom taken away as well. The island deal sounds good because you could possibly start your own government not based on taxes and people could actually own something after paying for it instead of continuous payment forever by way of taxes. I don’t want to even get going on Eminent Domain because that almost pisses me off more then taxes.

14. Tobie Openshaw:
We are having not-so-serious debate about the philosophical implications of property ownership, Avi – not making work for lawyers.

15. Lance Carroll: If we can’t own property – are we allowed to own thoughts or ideas? Just curious since I am currently downloading some nice movies!

16. Alonzo Lively: Yes you can own your thoughts until committed into an institution and force fed thoughts. Then you are renting others thoughts but not being taxed at least.

17. Bad Andy: seems like arguing you don’t “own” something based on your ill-justified dislike of taxes or eminent domain is just using semantics to make a poor argument at best. As James noted, it would seem obvious that in most societies ownership of anything is conditional based on obeying the law, if you break the law then your may forfeit the right to own things based on a reasonable legal interpretation.

If you didn’t pay taxes there wouldn’t be a street outside your house to drive to it on or utility poles to carry your electricity, you couldn’t get mail or water etc etc. Everyone uses the things taxes by therefore you need to pay taxes on your earnings to be a responsible member of society. If you don’t want to do this then go build a cabin in the wilderness or something.

I’m sure I can say the same for eminent domain and freeways etc. Everyone drives on the freeway and uses railroads, if they couldn’t build those then we wouldn’t be able to get where we need to go. I think this is just what George Carlin calls “NIMBY” syndrome, no one cares about eminent domain until it’s their house being imposed upon.

18. Dwayne Young: What if you paid ya taxes and obeyed the laws but the Govt takes your property and gives you what they think it is worth?
Fuck all the technical talk,in layman’s terms that is not ownership. It amazes me how people can go out of their way to justify bullshit…Too many know all’s.

19. Christine Peterson: Nope, we don’t own it…never will the bank owns it for the next 15 years, then town of plymouth owns it if we ever fall behind on our taxes, thats how it goes…and they raise taxes every year

20. Leanie Wessels: as long as I paid for it, it’s mine and I dont care about the government. Should I fail to pay land taxes so be it. move and do the same elsewhere. As long as Im led to believe the property is mine I couldnt be bothered as long as I can do with it whatever I want .

21. Alonzo Lively: Exactly Christine. I have no problem paying taxes, as long as it’s a win win for individuals and the government. I realize that roads and railways, police and fire departments come from taxes so that is a stupid argument. The problem is how these taxes go up and up and are continuously being spent on very stupid things. Also, I lived in the US before I came to Taiwan and was a homeowner. In 4 years during the housing bubble my housing tax went up 220% which is totally BS. Now this may not have affected me as much because I am younger, but the tens of thousands of fixed income elderly homeowners used to paying the same taxes year after year were foreclosed on left and right. Does everybody realize that America and Libya are the only 2 countries that tax citizens on bank accounts when working in foreign countries? I mean it’s really out of hand, and with the bailouts and deficit rising I think the worst is coming.

22. Bad Andy: so keep your money in a Taiwanese bank, no problem

23. Horst Björngobler: I don’t know if we ‘own’ the land or not in any other than a legal sense, but we sure paid for it.

24. John Edward DeShiro: You don’t own anything you pay taxes on. If you think you own it, stop paying your taxes, and see what happens.

25. Steve George: I like that word, allodial. To me Property tax absolutely means that we are merely renting any land we ‘own’ from the government and they will take it back if we stop paying the rent.
There are good reasons for paying taxes in this system we live in, I’m all for income tax and sales tax in order to have many of the services we have. With sales tax we pay it once and then we own something, we don’t keep paying tax on it. It’s fair – the more one consumes the more tax one pays.
I would like to think that if I build up enough resources I could get some nice land to live on and deal with money as little as possible. In this dream world I would use very few of the governments resources and pay a corresponding amount of tax. Annual property tax makes that much harder to do.

26. Bad Andy: well, you choose how much property tax you pay. You’re free to buy property in Alaska, Nebraska, Wyoming, Eastern Russia, Alberta, Africa, most of South America or any one of a multitude of other places where property tax is nonexistent or almost nothing.

In essence I agree with Steve on this point I think. If you don’t want to consume public resources (and thus be taxed appropriately) or be worried about eminent domain, don’t buy land in an area which is highly developed?

27. Alonzo Lively: No actually you choose how much you pay when you buy a house and then state and local governments can jack you up at any rate if it’s not in a tax controlled area such as California where I believe they have a no greater than 5% increase annually. As for Bad Andy’s comment on the Taiwan banks, they are required to report all money in them to the American government where you get taxed on it if you are American for basically the privilege of a passport. That’s basically taxation without representation considering we don’t even have a embassy here. The only way around this is to put all your money into an account in a Taiwanese persons name such as a spouse.

It’s all apples and oranges in America because if you have no irks about paying any amount of tax, state or government for anything they want to spend it on then your exactly what the government wants which is a taxpaying sheeple that does what it is told regardless of fairness. That is what America is being bred for. Taxpaying people who fear the government so much they will pay anything to keep them at bay.

In the 40-50’s the top moneymakers in America were taxed up to 90% and from that period have managed to reverse that entirely to practically little to nothing by comparison. If you read what I said I have no problems with paying taxes and I do believe it is the only way to have services that we have at a level of quality that we are used to. The problem is that the services are going in one direction, down, and the prices are going up. Education is a great example of this decline at a higher price year after year.
*Bad Andy, it’s also not a matter of being forced to buy land or property in areas that you mentioned, it’s unregulated and careless spending of the taxes that is the problem. The places you mentioned are not really the best for employment to begin with. But in places where employment is plentiful, or I should say used to be plentiful, you are usually taxed into the ground. It would be great if we simply and a balanced scale across the country. Buying in an area that is undeveloped for the masses is not an option that is feasible. I don’t think anyplace in America has tax free housing on the state level and if so this is the first I have ever heard of it. Even if this does exist, I would assume the sales tax is higher because they always balance it somehow.

28. Christine Peterson: Alonzo, I pay almost 6,000 a year in taxes, yet they have not paved the road I live on which is town owned, and has ruined a few of my vehicles, and the schools are’nt the greatest…we dont get much for our money here..I also pay a large school bus fee for my daughters to get to school and large dump fees…..
everyone can say sell, and buy somewhere else like South Africa, fat chance…but the market is terrible nothing is selling and our home has depreciated in value we are stuck here to ride out the recession but in the meantime pay ridiculous taxes that are going up as our homes worth is going down…leaving town of Plymouth and banks to own a lot of properties.

29. Alonzo Lively: Yep I have felt your pain tax wise, Christine. Lucky for me I sold my home in Florida about 6 months before the market crashed. I have about a dozen friends in America that are in the same boat. Upside down on mortgages, bad city conditions, unsellable homes and rising property taxes. Sorry you are going through all this and I hope the market improves.

30. Artsees Diner: I have often pondered that. One does not own anything unless they have the deed free and clear, in truth whoever holds the deed to that land and the house on it, is the owner. But more importantly since none of us are the original purchasers of said property, there are no “true” owners, or so it seems. Once again dear BP, you posed a ditty!

31. Boston Paul: Thought provoking posts. I am preparing a note. I have a couple of questions for Andy and James. In the meantime, let’s ponder what ownership is.

What does it mean to own?

Let’s take a look at a few definitions I pulled from dictionaries:

Etymology: Middle English owen, from Old English āgen; akin to Old High German eigan own, Old Norse eiginn, Old English āgan to possess.

*belonging to oneself or itself —usually used following a possessive case or possessive adjective <cooked my own dinner>
*used to express immediate or direct kinship <an own son> <an own sister>
*adj. Of or belonging to oneself or itself: She makes her own clothes.
*n. That which belongs to one: I wanted a room of my own.
*v. owned, own•ing, owns

~To have or possess as property: owns a chain of restaurants.
~To have control over: For a time, enemy planes owned the skies.
~To admit as being in accordance with fact, truth, or a claim; acknowledge.
~ By one’s own efforts: She got the job on her own.
~ Responsible for oneself; independent of outside help or control: He is now out of college and on his own.
~belonging to oneself or itself usually used following a possessive case or possessive adjective
~ used to express immediate or direct kinship
~transitive verb: to have or hold as property
~ possess: to have power or mastery over

*Ownership is the state or fact of exclusive rights and control over property, which may be an object, land/real estate or intellectual property. Ownership involves multiple rights, collectively referred to as title, which may be separated and held by different parties. The concept of ownership has existed for thousands of years and in all cultures. Over the millennia, however, and across cultures what is considered eligible to be property and how that property is regarded culturally is very different. Ownership is the basis for many other concepts that form the foundations of ancient and modern societies such as money, trade, debt, bankruptcy, the criminality of theft and private vs. public property. Ownership is the key building block in the development of the capitalist socio-economic system.

*The process and mechanics of ownership are fairly complex since one can gain, transfer and lose ownership of property in a number of ways. To acquire property one can purchase it with money, trade it for other property, receive it as a gift, steal it, find it, make it or homestead it. One can transfer or lose ownership of property by selling it for money, exchanging it for other property, giving it as a gift, being robbed of it, misplacing it, or having it stripped from one’s ownership through legal means such as eviction, foreclosure and seizure. Ownership is self-propagating in that the owner of any property will also own the economic benefits of that property.

Now please re-read the statements above. Be back soon.

32. Roland Le Lopez: Capt. Jack sparrow owned a jar of dirt. that was owned land. as far as beachfront in taiwan impossible to own the g-men can take it in event of threat to taiwan…we dont own nuttin in the big picture….YOU CANT TAKE IT WITH YA’….

33. Artsees Diner: I own my underwear. That I know for sure. I do not have any credit cards, I do borrow a car that is paid for dearly every month from a horrible American car manufacturer, my creditor owns it, and lets me know every time I dare to be a day late with my borrowed time. I own the food that I am eating at present. In truth, I own me, I might let people take the best of me, but I own that…I will read, and reread.

34. Sammy Hoffa: Nothing is yours till you have paid it off. Seems the world has problems with paying things off.

Boston Paul wrote on January 11, 2010:

35. Boston Paul: ALLODIAL seems to sums up the ‘do you own your land?’ question.

Here is what wiki says about allodial:

*Allodial title is a concept in some systems of property law. It describes a situation where real property (land, buildings and fixtures) is owned free and clear of any encumbrances, including liens, mortgages and tax obligations. Allodial title is inalienable, in that it cannot be taken by any operation of law for any reason whatsoever.

In common legal use, allodial title is used to distinguish absolute ownership of land by individuals from feudal ownership, where property ownership is dependent on relationship to a lord or the sovereign. Webster’s first dictionary (1825 ed) says allodium is “land which is absolute property of the owner, real estate held in absolute independence, without being subject to any rent, service, or acknowledgement to a superior. It is thus opposed to feud.”

True allodial title is rare, with most property ownership in the common law world—primarily, the United Kingdom, the United States, Canada, Australia, New Zealand and the Republic of Ireland—described more properly as being in fee simple. In particular, land is said to be “held of the Crown” in England and Wales and the Commonwealth realms. In England, there is no allodial land, all land being held of the Crown; even in the United States most lands are not allodial, as evidenced by the existence of property taxes. Some of the Commonwealth realms (particularly Australia) recognise native title, a form of allodial title that does not originate from a Crown grant.

In France, while allodial title existed before the French Revolution, it was rare and limited to ecclesiastical properties and property that had fallen out of feudal ownership. After the French Revolution allodial title became the norm in France and other civil law countries that were under Napoleonic legal influences. Interestingly Quebec adopted a form of allodial title when it abolished feudalism in the mid-nineteenth century making the forms of ownership in Upper and Lower Canada remarkably similar in substance.

Property owned under allodial title is referred to as allodial land, allodium, or an allod.

*Legal concept:

Allodial lands are the absolute property of their owner and not subject to any service or acknowledgment to a superior. An allodial title is the opposite of a feudal tenure such as fee simple. The derivation of the word is still doubtful, though it is probably compounded of the Germanic all, whole or entire, and odh, property.  Allodial tenure seems to have been common throughout northern Europe, but is now unknown in common law jurisidictions apart from the United States.  Allodial titles are known as udal tenure in Orkney and Shetland, the only parts of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland where they exist.

*In the United States, “To say that land is owned ‘allodially’ is a fiction. All land under United States government jurisdiction is subject to expropriation by way of eminent domain.”

Before 1774, all land in the American colonies could also be traced to royal grants, usually one grant creating each colony. The original grantee (recipient of the land) then sold or granted parcels of land within his/her grant to private citizens and other legal entities. However, when the colonies won the Revolutionary War, they did not want to retain a feudal system of land ownership. The Treaty of Paris (1783), which ended formal hostilities and recognized American independence, also had the effect of ending any residual rights held by the original grantees or the Crown. Essentially, this merely recognized that no person holding land in the new United States owed any allegiance or duty to the Crown or any English noble. There is no specific reference to allodial title in the text of the treaty. Some states created a form of allodial title while others retained the tenurial system with the state as the new ultimate landholder.

Apart from land that was formally owned at the time of the Revolutionary War, most American landholders can trace their title back to grants by the federal or state governments of land obtained by purchase (Louisiana Purchase, Florida, Alaska), treaty (the Ohio Valley, New Mexico, Arizona, and California), or annexation (Texas, Hawaii). However, in reality, previous grants prior to those territories becoming U.S. possessions were recognized. In fact, in Dartmouth College v. Woodward, the United States Supreme Court ruled a New Hampshire law that attempted to revoke the land grant to Dartmouth College from King George III was unconstitutional.

*Many state constitutions (Arkansas, Wisconsin, Minnesota, New York) refer to allodial title, but only to clearly distinguish it from feudal title, which appears to be illegal throughout the United States. The conditions under which the government can compel the sale of privately owned real property for public benefit are established by eminent domain laws of either the federal or state governments, respectively. The Fifth Amendment to the United States Constitution requires just compensation for eminent domain compelled sale. The right of the several states to tax real estate is preserved in the Constitution. In addition, the government powers of police power, and escheat have been retained in the American legal system.

*Allodial title advocates

Some groups say references to allodial title in state constitutions and (allegedly) the Treaty of Paris give property owners absolute, inalienable title to their property.

These groups include:

Tax protestors: Some tax protesters deny the legal power of municipal and state governments to tax property on the basis that allodial title cannot be alienated by failure to pay those taxes. However, most private property (to include all property in the United States) is not held in true allodial title, which would be the only title exempting the title holder from any tax.

Mortgagors: Persons who have overextended themselves and face foreclosure often try to create an allodial title. As allodial title cannot be alienated by seizure by a creditor, they claim the foreclosure by the mortgagee is illegal. However, by its nature, allodial title cannot be mortgaged in the first place, and an attempt to create allodial title on land that is subject to encumbrance by debt is impossible. Actually a contract can be created by an owner of allodial property with a mortgagee resulting in the transfer of title under certain circumstances such as default on a loan, thus that land falls out of the allodial title domain as it is essentially jointly owned and governed by contract by both the mortgagee and mortgagor. Once the mortgagee releases the contract as satisfied in full, the ownership reverts entirely back to the owner. There was a time when one was considered a fool to mortgage allodial land and thus give up allodial ownership as among other penalties the owner often lost the right of a freeholder to vote.

Anti-zoning groups: Persons who own agricultural land that faces re-zoning due to encroaching urbanization often claim that zoning laws that control agricultural use of property are illegal as they constitute an encumbrance on allodial title. They claim that only the law of nuisance applies to persons holding allodial title. However, the U.S. Supreme Court has upheld the constitutionality of zoning laws on a very broad basis, even though such laws all post-date the 1787 Constitution.
Schemes to obtain allodial title usually advise property owners to file a deed of allodial title with the local registry office, or to publish a notice of allodial title in a local newspaper. However, neither these or any other method is recognised by U.S. courts, and attempts to improperly assert an allodial title in U.S. courts may be classified as a “frivolous claim”.

Boston Paul (continued):  Andy, I am not opposed to taxes per-se. But most Americans do not know where their taxes are going, which is ironic since our Revolutionary Cry was

“NO taxation without REPRESENTATION!”

State taxes go to Public Services such as Roads etc.

But where does your federal tax dollar go?

Most of it goes to paying off the interest on the Federal Debt & Military Spending.

Hardly an ill-justified dislike of taxes, Andy my friend.

~ James, The State has tried (and often succeeded through deceit or violence) in taking ____ away from its Populace. But grab any History book and read about when the People revolted.

The Pen is MINE and all the legislation in the world will not change that.

When William Wallace was finally caught (through deceit) and told to bow before his English King, Wallace replied,

‘this is not my King. I did not choose this King.”

I am an Earthling first.

Governments/The State are meant to SERVICE the People not control them.

People forget this.

Look how out of hand things have gotten.

My Conclusion?

Under the current system,

It is a farce.

Peaces of LUV

36. Tyler Dakin: Yvonne and I have been currently looking at houses, and I’ve often wondered what exactly is up with property tax … I mean it’s not like a sales tax that you pay once and that’s it. What exactly do you get for paying that tax? More taxes? Is there birthing tax that I don’t know about? This has been a very interesting read, thanks.

Boston Paul:

Would still love to hear your thoughts.

The Dangers of SHAMpoo

This article is about your hair and the dangers of shampoo.

Shampoo, you say?

It seems we do not give a lot of thought to taking care of our hair. Often we buy whatever smells nice, whatever is on sale or leave the care of our hair to a professional (who may know how to style your hair, but they are frequently  – and often unwittingly – using products that are damaging to your hair).

This article is going to reveal what SHAMpoo is all about.

A few years ago, I realized that shampoo is really just that, a SHAM with a little poo (or BS) mixed in. It is a huge money-maker that does nothing for your hair, but over the long run could actually have detrimental effects on not only your hair, but your body & over-all Health.

After a fair amount of research over the years, I have come to realize the dangers of SHAMpoo and have subsequently stopped using it.

What a huge, wonderful difference it makes!

Let’s get one thing very clear: Do not get not using shampoo confused with not washing your hair.

More on hair washing below.

Dangers, you say? Come on! This is shampoo where are talking about here!

Now before you laugh and mock; read on.

After reading this document, I urge you to do some further research yourself.

There are references and a dictionary (to get us through the technical bits) at the end.

I have broken down my rant on SHAMpoo into eight parts:

1. SHAMpoo: A Brief History

2. How Does SHAMpoo work?

3. Why Do We Use SHAMpoo?

4. What Is In SHAMpoo & What Are The Dangers?

5. No SHAMpoo? How The Hell Do We Keep Our Noggins Clean & Healthy?

1. SHAMpoo: A Brief History

The word shampoo means to ‘massage’ it comes from the Hindi word champo which means to ‘smear, knead the muscles, massage.’ It was coined in England circa 1760. SHAMpoos as we know them (i.e. synthetic, harsh detergents) have only been used since the about the 1930s. Before that hair washing agents in the west were derived from boiling soap down. And before that, they were derived from plants and other natural ingredients such as herbs. It is my understanding that in the West, both the herbal and boiled down soap versions of shampoo were used.

To understand how SHAMpoo was born in the West, one must understand the history of soap. Soap got its name from ancient Rome. Animals were sacrificed on Mount Sapo. Rain washed a mixture of melted animal fat, or tallow, and wood ashes down into the clay soil along the Tiber River. Women found that this clay mixture made their wash cleaner with much less effort.

By the second century A.D., the Greek physician, Galen, recommended soap for both medicinal and cleansing purposes. Commercial soap-making in the American colonies began in early 1600s with the arrival of soap-makers from England, though soap-making stayed essentially a household chore for many years. Eventually, professional soap-makers began regularly collecting waste fats from households in exchange for soap.

Leave it to the French (and one Belgian) chemists as inventors of modern soap and by default modern SHAMpoo in the West.

These three forefathers of modern soap – and by default modern SHAMpoo – contributed to the chemical basis for cost effective soap.

Their names were:

  • Nicholas Leblanc (French. Published 1791).
  • Michel Eugene Chevreul (French. Published 1823) and
  • Ernest Solvay (Belgian. Published1861).

These scientific discoveries, together with the development of power to operate factories, made soap-making one of America’s fastest-growing industries by the mid -1800s. Its broad availability changed soap from a luxury item to an everyday ‘necessity’. Eventually specialty soaps were made for washing laundry, floors, and just about anything that needed to be cleaned (including hair).

For shampoo this soap was boiled down and used by many to wash their hair, though there were also many of those who used herbal mixes. From ancient times down to the present, shampoo has gone through many changes. Our ancient ancestors made shampoo from herbs &  natural ingredients.

As early as 2800 B.C in ancient Babylon, there is evidence from inscriptions on cylinders that soap was made by boiling fats with ash.

Soap and shampoo have come a looooong way.

Recently, the marketing strategy seems to be Let’s get back to Nature.

Visit any department store or shop and we are bombarded with a plethora of SHAMpoos.

We see organic SHAMpoos; herbal SHAMpoos; SHAMpoo made from fruit; etc.

Back to Nature!

The People have spoken and the Money Making Corporations have (ahem) listened!

Except that these organic SHAMpoos are still a SHAM for they often have dangerous chemicals in them. They still must use bonding agents, preservatives &  foaming agents. A truly organic natural shampoo is one you make yourself. But since it is made out of natural ingredients you must make it all the time. The shelf life of your own home-made shampoo is 3 or 4 days.

More on making your own below.

The Western notion of cleanliness is a dynamic, complex, cultural creation. The Corporation, in order to keep the capital flowing, has devised all kinds of ways to keep the masses thinking they are not clean enough… and that they need to skip off to the shop to buy their products.

The Masses have been Brainwashed. What happened to good ol’ ingenuity?

Mother Nature knows best and has already provided us with ingredients that are more effective, less expensive, healthier and SAFE.

And She has being doing so since Time began.

Who are we to question Her?

The idea of being clean (in the West) has been a slow change indeed. Though the ancient Romans considered cleanliness a social virtue and Jews practiced ritual purity laws involving immersion in water, the early Christians viewed bathing as Hedonistic.

Let’s get nasty for Jesus!

Americans were as filthy as most Europeans before the (American) Civil War, but the Union’s success in controlling disease through hygiene convinced The People that cleanliness was progressive not to mention Patriotic.

2. How Does SHAMpoo work?

Both soap and SHAMpoo contain surfactants. Soap bonds to oils with such affinity that it removes too much if used on hair. SHAMpoo uses a different class of surfactants; balanced to avoid removing too much oil from the hair. But with all the chemicals found in SHAMpoo there are a lot more heinous things being done to our hair – and body – than removing a bit of oil (essential oils that your hair needs anyway!).

Shampoo cleans by stripping sebum from the hair. Sebum is a type of oil secreted by your hair follicles that is readily absorbed by the strands of hair, and forms a protective layer.

Sebum protects the protein structure of hair from damage.

But this ‘protection’ comes at a cost.

It tends to collect dirt, styling products & scalp flakes. Surfactants strip the sebum from the hair shafts and thereby remove the dirt attached to it. The chemical mechanisms that underlie hair cleansing are similar to that of traditional soap. Undamaged hair has a hydrophobic surface to which skin lipids such as sebum stick, but water is initially repelled. The lipids do not come off easily when the hair is rinsed with plain water.

The anionic surfactants substantially reduce the interfacial surface tension and allow for the removal of the sebum from the hair shaft. The non-polar oily materials on the hair shaft are solubilized into the surfactant micelle structures of the SHAMpoo and are removed during rinsing. There is also considerable removal through a surfactant and oil “roll up” effect.

Are you ready for this?

The foamy effect of shampoo is purely aesthetic.

It has NO cleansing properties!

                                                                                                                   More on this below.

3. Why Do We Use SHAMpoo?

The obvious answer of course is to keep the hair clean.
But does it really?

What are the real reasons we use shampoo? It’s all about big business & convenience, isn’t it? They have convinced us that we are too busy with mundane work such as making soap & shampoo. We have been brainwashed into thinking that we must go to The Shop to purchase all of our necessities.

It’s convenient, we say.

I don’t have time to do it myself, you think.

I don’t know how! we cry.

Meanwhile we are unwittingly washing our bodies & manes with Toxic Chemicals.

Corporations have convinced the Public that if they didn’t make it then it’s not good. Natural medicine, natural healing & natural care for the Body have been deemed ‘quackery’ by The Corporation.

Yet (Ironically? Paradoxically?), these very same companies put “natural” ingredients into their products filled with chemicals. The natural ingredients are shouting at you from the label while the toxic chemicals are written in small print on the back of the bottle, where not even a Chemist might not be able to decipher all the Ingredients.

Why not just use the same Natural ingredients found in commercial products minus the chemicals? I will tell you how to do that later in this article.

Natural ingredients are the bane of corporations because it is hard to tax and make money on them. It is difficult for a corporation to have a patent on anything Natural (so far). So they take derivatives and patent them. Often derivatives are suspect or not very good because they are separated from the Original Source.

That is why willow bark is better for headaches than taking its derivative; acetylsalicylic acid (or aspirin). If the Corporation can’t lobby to make Nature illegal (like they do for Hemp) then they either ignore the benefits of an herb or say it doesn’t work i.e. that the said Remedy is a snake oil, quackery or bullocks.

The sad thing is that your average Person believes the Corporation BS Yarn.

How can your average uninformed person NOT believe?

With billions of dollars spent on advertising a year and with social-psychologists like Freud’s nephew Edward Bernays, the Corporate Media/PR Guru (November 22, 1891 – March 9, 1995) using psychology to get People to buy his clients’ – major corporations –products; it is no wonder the Masses think the way they do.

If you stop buying products that you can make yourself, then you essentially stop supporting the Corporations that support corrupt politicians like the Bush Family, Dick Cheney and the rest of the Evil Them.

It is all connected.

Do it yourself and share your Knowledge with Everyone.

We the People can re-take Control of our bodies.

We can take back the Power from the Powers That Be.

4. What Is In SHAMpoo & What Are The Dangers?

Here is the Crux of this report right here.

Read carefully!

I looked at many SHAMpoo products and basically most have the same ingredients. Even the ‘healthy’ ones that claimed to be organic and have ‘no abrasives’ had chemicals in them that are not good for us.

For you, Dear Reader, I have compiled a list of what is commonly used in most brands of SHAMpoo (and other cosmetics, so check your conditioners, make-up, skin lotion, shaving cream, and yes even your toothpaste! Eeeew!).

Listed below are 59 of the most common ingredients in your shampoo. What is disturbing is that this is not a complete list!

Check the back of everything you buy. Make a copy of this list and bring it with you next time you go shopping to see if these ingredients are in what you want to purchase. Though I implore you to make your own like I do; it is safer, fresher and actually enhances your Well Being.

Go Natural, baby!

Details on how to do this are listed below.

Please note that next to many of the chemicals that are in your SHAMpoo, I have added the ‘international chemical hazard symbol’ [X] which indicates that there is a potential risk associated with this ingredient.

It could be a mild irritant; cause allergic reactions or adverse skin reactions.

Oh, and it could be potentially toxic or carcinogenic.

There may be a risk of contamination with harmful by-products which are formed during manufacture. It could also indicate that there are restrictions on the use of the ingredient.

The omission of this symbol does not imply that an ingredient is safe for all individuals. The chemicals that go into SHAMpoo are not good for the Environment. They pollute our water and add to the corrosion of our sensitive Ecosystems which Corporations and the Governments they control insist on destroying.

If the ingredients are the key part of the product they are usually listed first on your product.

Numbers in red are in most SHAMpoo products and are extremely toxic.

If you see a TOP next to the ingredient, this means it is generally found in the top five ingredients of the product.

Be sure to read Ingredient Number 59 at the end of this list!

They are used widely as preservatives by inhibiting the growth of organisms for cosmetics, foods and drugs. As different esters inhibit different organisms, they are often used as a combination of different esters. Paraben mix sensitivity produces classic allergic contact dermatitis reactions. Sometimes it may be seen as a flare or spread of an existing treated rash. Paraben allergic hypersensitivity is not uncommon although rare in relation to its widespread use. It appears that repeated applications of relatively low concentrations of Parabens in medications and cosmetics may lead to sensitivity.

The most commonly used Parabens are methylparaben, ethylparaben, p-hydroxybenzoic acid, propylparaben and butylparaben. Parabens sensitivity is usually caused by medicaments used to treat eczema. Parabens are found in many Pharmaceutical preparations as well.

40. PEG Polyethylene glycol [X]

These compounds have not received a lot of attention from consumer watchdog groups. They should. This family of synthetic chemicals functions in cosmetic formulations as surfactants, cleansing agents, emulsifiers, skin conditioners, and humectants. Many cosmetic manufacturers rely on them extensively and are getting away with what is believed to be a conspiracy of negligence. PEG compounds often contain small amounts of ethylene oxide.

*According to experimental results reported on in the National Toxicology Program’s Eighth Annual Report on Carcinogens, ethylene oxide increases the incidences of uterine and breast cancers and of leukemia and brain cancer. OUCH!

41. Polysorbates Fatty Acid Esters.

Compound derived from sorbitan, which can be manufactured by chemically modifying glucose. Emulsifier / Surfactant / Viscosity adjuster.

43. Polyquaternium

Found in particular application in conditioners, SHAMpoo, mousse, hair spray, and hair dye. Because they are positively charged, they neutralize the negative charges of most SHAMpoo and hair proteins and help hair lay flat. Their positive charges also ionically bond them to hair and skin. The sodium salt of lactic acid which is obtained from milk products. pH control / Humectant

57. Steareth-20 (or 21)

This is a Polyethoxylated Alcohol, which is a fatty alcohol derived from natural oils and fats and is known by its INCI name, Steareth-20. This is a simple and effective emulsifyer. It binds oils and water together to form an emulsion and is essential in the manufacture of lotions and creams. It is not a combination of products and does not contain any thickening agent.

Used on it’s own it will effectively make light lotions and creams, the texture of which will rely on the saturation of the oil/s used. It is one of several ingredients within Emulsifying Wax NF, which is widely quoted as being the most popular emulsifying wax for crafters.

The problem with this is that NF means National Formulary and it refers to American standard formula.

It is not recognized in Britain or Europe and so has to be imported, which can be expensive and is unnecessary.

58. Steareth-2,-4,-7,-10, 20,-30 59. Toluenesulfonic acid [X]

Used for acid-catalyst reaction such as estification, hydrolysis, dehydration, polymerization and alkylation as a catalyst.

  • As hardener of many resin systems, such as resoles, epoxies, amino-Plastics and furniture lacquers.
  • As intermediate of dye chemistry, adhesives and specialized plasticizers.
  • 4. As a hardening agent of furan resin which is applied in foundry Industry (Sand Casting).
  • As an anti-stress additive for electroplating baths.

Serious local effects by all routes of exposure. The substance is corrosive to the eyes, the skin and the respiratory tract. Corrosive on ingestion. Inhalation of aerosol may cause lung oedema. Medical observation is indicated.

59. Sodium Laureth Sulfate & Sodium Lauryl Sulfate [X] TOP

Read this one carefully!

I SAVED THIS ONE FOR LAST. Also known as SLES & SLS, both these chemicals are very effective foaming agents, chemically known as surfactants. It is probably the most dangerous ingredient used in skin and hair-care products. Cleans by corrosion. Dries skin by stripping the protective lipids from the surface so it can’t effectively regulate moisture.

In the cleaning industry SLS is used in garage floor cleaners, engine degreasers, car-wash soaps, etc. It is very corrosive and readily attacks greasy surfaces. In the same way as it dissolves the grease on car engines, SLES also dissolves the oils on your skin, which can cause a drying effect. It is also well documented that it denatures skin proteins, which causes not only irritation, but also allows environmental contaminants easier access to the lower, sensitive layers of the skin. SLS is used throughout the world for clinical testing as a primary skin irritant.

Laboratories use it to irritate skin on test animals and humans so that they may then test healing agents to see how effective they are on the irritated skin.

WARNING: Both SLS and its cousin SLES are very dangerous, highly irritating chemicals. A study at the University of Georgia Medical College indicated that SLS penetrated into the eyes as well as brain, heart, liver, etc., and showed long-term retention in the tissues. The study also indicated that SLS penetrated young children’s eyes and prevented them from developing properly and caused cataracts to develop in adults.

*May cause hair loss by attacking the follicle. It is classified as a drug in bubble baths because it eats away skin protection and causes rashes and infection to occur. How ironic that it is harmful to skin and hair!

Although SLES is somewhat less irritating than SLS, it cannot be metabolized by the liver and its effects are therefore much longer-lasting (this not only means it stays in the body tissues for longer, but much more precious energy is used getting rid of it).

Another report published in the Journal of The American College of Toxicology in 1983 showed that concentrations of SLS as low as 0.5% could cause irritation and concentrations of 10-30% caused skin corrosion and severe irritation.

National Institutes of Health “Household Products Directory” of chemical ingredients lists over 80 products that contain SLS and SLES. Some soaps have concentrations of up to 30%, which the ACT report called “highly irritating and dangerous”. So if SLS can lead to direct damage to the hair follicle, skin damage, permanent eye damage in children and even liver toxicity, then why is a dangerous chemical like these used in our soaps and SHAMpoos?

Because it’s inexpensive and Korporations do not care about you. They care about their bottom line. They care about profit. You are the means to obtain that profit. And they will cut corners to cut down cost and the expense of your Health.

Not to mention that the Powers That Be do not want a healthy, informed, population, they are harder to control!

SLS and SLES are inexpensive detergents that are commonly used in other products besides SHAMpoo.

Here’s a list:

~soaps, bubble-baths, toothpaste, washing-up liquid/dish soap, laundry detergent, children soaps, stain remover, carpet cleaner, fabric glue, body wash, shave cream, mascara, mouthwash, skin cleanser, moisture lotion/moisturizer, sun-cream, cosmetic cleansers, bath and shower gels and other products that we expect to “foam up”.

Look on the back of your product. If it contains this chemical, get rid of it, you will be doing your hair and body a favor.

Remember, the foamy effect of shampoo is purely aesthetic.

It has NO cleansing properties.

There you have it.

Listed here are just a fraction of the chemicals found in your SHAMpoo. We have also learned that many of these chemicals are in other products that you are using. Check the back of your product and see if these chemicals are listed. If so, it is time to get rid of them. I have presented the problems here, and now for a few solutions…

5. No SHAMpoo? How The Hell Do We Keep Our Noggins Clean & Healthy?

Many people are fooled into buying shampoos that are ‘aloe enriched’ or have watermelon or lemon in them… the problem is that these ‘natural’ shampoos still need preservatives to keep them from going bad, and have other chemicals needed to make the product foam up.

We have been duped that if it does not foam up, it does not clean… total BS… re-read above how and why your shampoo and soap foam up (see chemical number 59).

I decided a few years ago to make my own shampoo. I did a little research on natural cleansing agents and I was on my way. I have been washing my hair & body the Natural Way.

I use aloe-vera as a base (Aloe-Vera is a succulent member of the lily&onion family). Aloe is a time-proven healer & cleanser. Even big companies know the positive effects of aloe on the hair and skin; that is why they put it in their products.

The problem of course is the positive attributes of aloe-vera are diminished with the other toxic ingredients that are also added.

Generally, every couple of weeks or as needed, I use a vinegar/aloe mix to wash my hair.

Every couple of weeks I use a Home-made Natural Conditioning Mix (recipe below).

For convenience and because I have always wanted to name something after myself, let’s call this the Boston Paul Remedy or BPR. 😉

Here is how I make my conditioning shampoo:

  • Get a blender throw in washed aloe. I keep the skins of the aloe on and blend them up too (though the jelly part of the aloe is healthy and good for your digestive system… do NOT eat the skins!).
  • Then I take the skins from whatever homemade juice I made myself that morning such as lemon, orange, watermelon rind etc.
  • Wash them and cut them up and with a little rosemary
  • Throw it all into the blender.

*Rosemary is believed to stimulate hair follicles and hair growth.

* Rosemary is generally believed to slow down or even permanently hold off premature hair loss & gray hair.

*It is especially beneficial when mixed with basil, bergamot, juniper, lemon and cedar.

  • Add small amounts of water slowly until you get a fine consistency.

I make this mix a few times a month.

I usually skip a day between washings. Of course it depends on what kind of busy day I have had. Youwill find that after you stop using SHAMpoo, your hair will not get greasy. When you shower, scrub your scalp with your fingernails. Towel dry hair and brush.

Every other week, I add a small amount of vinegar to the mix.

I keep my shampoo in the fridge until needed.

I blend all this with filtered or distilled water.

It is fun and feel free to experiment. I also wash the rest of my body with this mix as well…

NOTES: Before you shower, use a firm brush on your scalp and head for a few minutes. When you hop in the shower take your BPR and apply generously to your hair and scalp. Work it in. Let it sit in your hair while you perform the rest of your routine. I leave it in for about 5 minutes. Take a comb and comb it out slowly while you are in the shower. Rinse well and you can repeat.

Let your hair dry naturally the way humans have right up until 1920 when the hair dryer was invented (though it wouldn’t be until the 60s when they became widely available and common place).

Blow drying is terrible for your hair.

Be sure to brush your hair a few times a day. It feels good and it is good for a healthy scalp.

If you do the math, you will be making out like a Bandit.

How much does the average bottle of SHAMpoopoo – and all the other hair care products you may use – cost? How much do you make an hour? How long does it take to make your own and what are the costs? You will see that 15 minutes once or twice a week is cost effective and over the long run will save you money and could save your health. The mixes that I make last a few days.

My hair is soft, clean, smells great and most importantly (listen up men) fall out has decreased dramatically.

No preservatives; no chemicals. The BPR for hair is not limited to the few simple ingredients I have listed, but it is good to keep aloe as your base. You can try new mixes using some of the other ingredients I have listed here.

Drop me a line and et me know how you fare!

I would love to hear about your experiment results.

Leave your comments below!

Traditionally, herbs such as neem, shikakai or soapnut, henna, bael, brahmi, fenugreek, buttermilk, amla, and almond have also been used in natural shampoos.

It feels good to be healthy, doesn’t it?

Hair conditioners have many of the chemicals that SHAMpoo has. Bonding agents, mulsifyers, fragrant chemicals that are not made from what they are supposed to smell like.

Try these natural remedies instead:

Olive Oil – Put the moisture back into it by warming up about a 1/2 cup olive oil (don’t boil it), and then applying it to your hair. Cover your hair with a plastic grocery bag, and then wrap it in a towel. Let it set for 45 minutes or so, then rinse thoroughly with the BPR Vinegar rinse.

Want to put the life back into your limp or damaged hair? Combine 1 teaspoon apple cider vinegar with 2 tablespoons olive oil and 3 egg whites. Rub the mixture into your hair, then keep it covered for 30 minutes using plastic wrap or a shower cap then wash with the BPR.

Coconut Oil –  a natural moisturizer. Use once or twice a month for soft shiny hair! Take a table spoon scoop put into a glass jar pour a little bit of warm water and shake.  Pour on head, work through hair and scalp then wash out. Towel dry hair then brush.

Baking Soda – A thorough cleansing with baking soda at least once a week will wash all of the gunk and pollution from a drive through the city out of your hair. Add 1 tablespoon of soda to your hair while shampooing. In addition to removing all the chemicals you put in your hair, it will wash away water impurities.

Beer – Before you get into the shower, mix 3 tablespoons beer in 1/2 cup warm water. After you shampoo your hair, rub in the solution, let it set for a couple of minutes, then rinse it off. Results are wonderful. You may want to keep a six-pack in your shower.

6. Conclusion

With all these chemicals that we put on our body and that we ingest everyday unwittingly… Think for a moment; when you are in your 50s, 60s, or 70s, and you have a disease or liver failure or some kind of cancer…

…is it entirely possible that these toxic chemicals – over a period of time – could have contributed to that?

Is it possible that when the doctor says, I don’t know what is wrong with you, I am sorry, you are going to die soon,  this may have been prevented?

The Corporations want Power and money gives them that Power… they govern the governments and they DO NOT CARE ABOUT YOU.

In school we learn basic skills and how to obey. This makes us into nice, little, behaved slaves that will  ‘keep the economy going’ in the future… but we don’t learn about our bodies and how we should take care of them.

Through Public Education (i.e. Indoctrination) we are taught a whitewashed history (the winners rewrite history and the losers never have a Voice).

We are taught to obey. We are conditioned to eat when we’re told to; pee & poo when we’re told to; play when told to, share ideas when told to (often squelched when not conforming to the status quo).

In Public Schools we are conditioned. Our Learning Environment is within the confines of four walls & bright lights.  We are seated in rows.

It makes perfect sense actually.

How else could they get anyone in their right mind to work in an office from 9 – 5?

This is where we get the concept WENT POSTAL from.

Think about it.

Keep your mind strong for Knowledge is Power.

Keep your body strong, it is the only one you got and you might need it to Fight for your Liberty in the future…

Be Healthy & Wise…

7. Dictionary of Terms

Here are a few words you might need to know from the reading:

• Anioic – a negatively charged ion, especially one that is attracted to an anode, either during electrolysis or within a vacuum tube

• Antistatic agent – A compound used for treatment of materials or their surfaces in order to reduce or eliminate buildup of static electricity generally caused by the triboelectric effect. Its role is to make the surface or the material itself slightly conductive, either by being conductive itself, or by absorbing moisture from the air, so some humectants can be used. The molecules of an antistatic agent often have both hydrophilic and hydrophobic areas, similar to those of a surfactant; the hydrophobic side interacts with the surface of the material, while the hydrophilic side interacts with the air moisture and binds the water molecules.

• Chelating agentsCertain organic compounds capable of forming coordinate bonds with metals through two or more atoms of the organic compound. In other words; a bonding agent

• Denaturation – The destruction of the usual nature of a substance, as by the addition of methanol or acetone to alcohol to render it unfit for drinking, or the change in the physical properties of a substance, as a protein or nucleic acid, caused by heat or certain chemicals that alter tertiary structure.

• Dispersants – A liquid or gas added to a mixture to promote dispersion or to maintain dispersed particles in suspension

• Emollient – Emollients are substances that soften and soothe the skin. They are used to correct dryness and scaling of the skin.

• Emulsifier – an ingredient which binds the water and oil in a cream or lotion together permanently. We all know what happens in a salad dressing, when it’s left to settle. The ingredients separate into oil and water-based and need shaking to mix before using. With cosmetic creams and lotions, this problem is solved using an emulsifiera, crylates / Steareth-20 Methacrylate Copolymer Synthetic compound.

• Film Former – Any substance of which will change from liquid to solid in such a manner as to form a film over a surface.

• Humectants – A humectant is a substance used primarily in foods and cosmetic products to help retain moisture. These substances are called hygroscopic, which means that they are able to absorb ambient water. Some humectant additives are beneficial when consumed or used. Others, particularly in some foods, are less helpful, may cause abdominal distress, and should probably be avoided.

• Hydrophobic – chemistry not dissolving in, absorbing, or mixing easily with water • Lipids – constituent of fat a biological compound that is not soluble in water, e.g. a fat. The group also includes waxes, oils, sterols, triglycerides, phosphatides, and phospholipids.

• Micelle – an electrically charged particle formed by an aggregate of ions or molecules in soaps, detergents, and other suspensions

• Opacifier – A chemical agent added to a material, such as rocket propellant, to make it opaque

• 10. pH (control) – per hydron or per hydrogen, also power of the hydrogen. Inadequate control of the pH can result in the growth of undesirable bacteria in the product that could be a potential health hazard to an unsuspecting consumer.

• Sebum – an oily substance secreted by the sebaceous glands that lubricates the hair and skin and gives some protection against bacteria

• Solvent – A liquid that dissolves a solid, liquid, or gaseous solute, resulting in a solution

• Surfactants – The term surfactant is a blend of “surface acting agent”. Surfactants, also known as tensides, are wetting agents that lower the surface tension of a liquid, allowing easier spreading, and lower the interfacial tension between two liquids.

• Viscosity adjuster – Used to make a product thinner or thicker.

RELIGION/POLITICS – Pat Robertson is the Anti-Christ. Discussion.

Pat Robertson’s bigoted, racist remarks concerning the recent Earthquake in Haiti sparked an outcry from not just the liberal left, but even those who chill with him on the Right (we won’t get into my disdain for the terms ‘Right’ and ‘Left’ where based on those terms Hitler and Gandhi would be playing on the same team.  Ludicrous.).
Men like Pat Robertson are dangerous. Kind looking old men they are, but remember, they are the leaders of the ‘silent moral majority’…  AKA Capitalists/Republican/Conservative/Christian (though I am not sure they are the kind of Humans that Jesus would have hung  with.)
I see a whip and the proverbial knocking over of tables.
Angered at how a Community Leader blames natural disasters on the Sin of a People and says that it is His God that is punishing them,  I posted the statement you have already read and the following are responses from my Facebook NetworkConnections (NETCONS).
Boston Paul
Ripped from on line. Link Below. “It was just last week that we posted a collection of old Pat Robertson videos, but since he’s making news once again by saying the tragic earthquake in Haiti stems from the fact that the nation once “swore a pact to the Devil,” now seems like a good time to go back at take a look at some of Robertson’s most outrageous statements from recent years”:

*Robertson and Falwell lay the blame for 9/11.

*Robertson says Muslims should be treated like “some fascist group.”

*Robertson says gays are on their way to hell.

*Robertson says hate crimes legislation would protect someone “who likes to have sex with ducks.”

*Robertson says all other religions worship “demonic powers.”

*Robertson’s advice to the GOP on handling the Rep. Mark Foley scandal: just say that it is “what gay people do so don’t worry about it.”

*Robertson says marriage equality is “so gross” it will lead to the end of our nation.

*Robertson reports that God told him to expect massive terrorist attacks on the United States in 2007, and lists the specific cities at risk.

*Robertson declares that the separation of church and state is “insane.”

*Robertson states that Ariel Sharon suffered a stroke because he was “dividing God’s land.”

*Robertson warned that President Bush was “asking for the wrath of God” for not adequately supporting Israel.

*Robertson explains that various natural disasters and weather events are God’s way of sending a message.

“Explain to me again why incoming Virginia Governor Bob McDonnell invited Robertson to attend his inauguration. Or why Rep. Michele Bachmann, whom Robertson lauds as a “marvelous public servant,” is appearing on his program.”

Fri at 12:55am
I’m more heartbroken and disappointed in Robertson than anything at this point, and I’m tremendously unwilling to regard him as anything but a badly, badly misguided soul who has let his own thirst for control and own perspective cloud the love and grace available in the relationship he claims to have in Christ. His entire ilk come from such a different world than the rest of us, and I’m hesitant to declare openly that anyone is burning in hell (or conversely, that anyone is resting peacefully in heaven). That deal rests between said person and God and it is not ours to declare the result of someone’s salvation.

However, I will say that his words do not reflect the same God that I know, and he certainly does not speak for all Christians – or even a significant minority of Christians at this point. He, Falwell, Oral Roberts and Bob Jones are all men of their own kind, and hopefully it is one attitude toward humanity that will soon be extinct.

I thought this was interesting:  In an ABC News poll conducted in the wake of Hurricane Katrina in 2005, 23 percent of Americans said they believed hurricanes were “a deliberate act of God.”

Amerika has 308,480,000 people. Who’s good at Math?

I’m not, but that is still a scary number.

Corporate Christianity, Dianna.

I know some Good People that also happen to be Christian. We have nice scholarly debates and they are nice to be around.

Unfortunately, Amerika has way too many of the type you mention above… capitalist, fundamentalist, military supporting republicans (whether they vote democrat or not).

And they have millions of Sheep in their Flock.

Sheep. The Bible hit the nail on the head with that one.

Sheep are one of the dumbest species of mammals on the planet.

Indeed, BP (and I hope I am one of those Good People you think of). The influence of Robertson, et al, is a little frightening, but, in the younger church (read: my generation), there’s definitely a sense of movement away from such brazen “us vs. them” evangelicalism. Granted, the persistent presence of their schools of thought in media, politics and education speaks volumes to how much influence those men (notice that it’s mostly men, too…) have had on American Christianity – the “religious right” and “moral majority” are still incredibly loud.

But, on the ground here in America, I’m sensing much more of a change toward more gracious, ecumenical Christianity and much less fire and brimstone. Essentially, 30 years ago, Robertson would have been the voice of the Christians in our nation, but most of the negative reaction to him now in 2010 speaks to the fact that he has been moved to the fringe. My parents’ generation of fiery, militant-rhetoric infused evangelicalism is fading.

I don’t know what to do with 23% there except to say that 1. It’s a very unscientific poll, and 2. Is the group polled solely comprised of American Christians? Is it purely those who claim Christian as their religion and go to church every Sunday, etc, i.e., exhibit all the ‘signs’ of being an American Christian? If it is not (which I suspect is the case), then you have crazy people from all walks of life, agreeing that Katrina may have been divine retribution – it doesn’t speak to that sort of movement within the Christian church. That 23% would include Muslims, Hindus, Buddhists, Taoist, Shintos, etc…anyone claiming to be religious, and therefore, you end up culling what looks like a large number, but is really just a bunch of people on the fringe of all religious walks. Just sayin’, the 23% doesn’t really surprise me.

Also, the “sheep/shepard” metaphor is one used all over the Bible, and, while I get your use of the metaphor here, I have to confess I was a little insulted by it as well. Just saying.

It’s good to talk to you again, by the way. Chase and I had a few conversations about you and your stances on things while in India. 🙂

I had to take a statistical analysis class when I was in college and my take on “polls” is that you can make numbers say anything you want and it was one of the primary cautions I learned from my prof.

“Christian” has been used to lump together a very large and diverse set of beliefs in the U.S. I cringe every time I see the word Christian used as a label.

Is a person that believes the Pope is the mediator between God and Man actually a Christian?
Is a person that believes they can buy their way, either by good works or lots of monetary donations, into eternity really a Christian?

Is a person that believes that a set of plates presented to a drunk in the woods by an Angel that identified himself as the Angel Moroni and interpreted as the New Gospel really a Christian?

I stopped calling myself a “Christian” a long time ago, right around the time my church snubbed me for my stand against their hypocrisy, which is a story for some other time, haha

1. There is no hell,
2. There is no anti-christ.
3. Your response – revulsion and repugnance – is mostly perfect.
4. Don’t grant the premise.
Great thread Paul!

Religion= organized superstition for profit

i agree with everything Pat Robertson said…

theres no anti christ ,unless you create it!

PROSE: Universe Within

AN ENERGY STARTING FROM HIS TOES, worked its way through his body…
Through his intestines, through his arteries replacing his blood with honey.
This energy worked its way through his liver, his spleen, his stomach, and alas his heart.
It moved slowly from his bosom, to his throat and then finally to his head where the cells in his brain began to bounce off each other in a frenzy.
The neurons in his cerebrum transmitting at the speed of Light…
Allowing different perceptions of Reality throughout the brain.
The raphe system discerning what realities he would and would not perceive…
And then alas when he saw everything at once, he thought he would explode and he welcomed it.
He wanted to explode with a happiness he could not explain.
He knew now.
He had the Answer to give to the masses.

He finally realized that he was Alive…
And before he realized the populous Would not, Could not, understand this message, he started to cry out…
But it was too late.

They looked at him scornfully as they walked by.
They crossed the street when they saw him coming.
They laughed at him behind his back and to his face.
They pointed at him and sneered.
Mother’s grabbed their children and pulled them away.

He opened his mouth and let the message come out and the people became frightened and began to fight.
Like ants scurrying about in confusion when their path is interrupted.

A Chinese fire drill.
A hive of angry bees.

Thorns upon his Head.

A wound in his side.

Drinking hemlock for corrupting the Youth.
Dancing with Bella Donna and Atropos.
The thread of life still dangling.
He stretched and cast a suffering shadow upon the ground.
Appearing as though it were hung from a tree.
Spindles driven into his limbs.
He does not cry out now, he has felt the happiness and longs to feel it again.
He looks upward as the honey runs like a stream, a river, down his body.
Flowing from his side. Dripping from his brow.
Exuding from his hands and feet.
He looks upward, and the echo of the Voice still rings in his ears,

…and is still ringing in his soul.

Stoned at The Fair

Rasta cartoon smoking

I was 17 when I decided to hitch hike from Boston to California. I don’t remember why I wanted to leave. Perhaps I was trying to find myself. Maybe I was running away from something. Or perhaps, just maybe, I was running to something. I am not a psychiatrist, so I don’t know the complexities of the mind and why we do the things we do – though I do ponder the whys sometimes. And though that time in my life is over it helped shape who I am today.

This is a story about a boy who thought himself a man and was on a quest.

Aah yes, that’s it.

A Quest.

I started walking down a country-town road, a road in a town just north of Plymouth. A road I had walked and rode my bicycle on many times. I headed towards the highway, thumb out, duffel-bag in tow and was barely out of Massachusetts when I ran out of money.

I left home with only 40 dollars in my pocket (I didn’t think this venture through enough) and I needed to find a way to eat. I could rob a gas station I mused, but I knew I could never go through with it. No, no, my money making scheme had to be somewhat legit.

I got a ride here and a ride there, but as I was hitchhiking through the countryside nearing New York, a driver picked me up. He was an elderly looking gentleman, perhaps in his sixties.  And as he listened to my sad, pathetic tale of leaving home and having no money, he took pity on me.

He told me about a fair in a small town called Great Barrington. He said they were always looking for help and I should check it out.

There was nothing really great about this town. It was a small town. Imagine the neighborhood that you saw in the old black and white TV shows Leave it to Beaver  or The Andy Griffith Show and you’d be close. There were actually people driving up to convenient stores on their tractors and other farm equipment… and I thought that I lived in the country!

But the fair was quite the attraction and people came from miles around.

There were about ten of us that made up The Help and our duties were pretty straightforward. They had some of us parking cars in the morning and I made a few tips from the men that wore big hats and spent a lot of money betting on the horses.

Watch my car, here’s ten bucks. Pocketing the cash, I would watch his car for about thirty seconds and then move on. In the afternoon, I walked around picking up trash and keeping the place orderly. They also had me doing little odds and ends for those in the hierarchy. “Take this over to the office…” or “Pick up that horse-shit over there.

When the fair closed at the end of the day, we swept up the garbage. Nothing like the smell of fair garbage at the end of the day. Instead of chanting, Get your hot dogs here! We would all cry out, Get your garbage here! and laugh. Only we thought it was funny though.

One day, the Head Grunt said he wanted me to work the horse track.

Woah! The Track!

I thought of it as a bit of a promotion. No more parking cars and no more garbage! The work was simple enough. The track was shaped like the lower case letter b. The stem of the b is where the horse gate was. That is where the horses were loaded up to get ready to race. Our job was to pull a special gate across the stem so that the horses only saw an O. They didn’t want the horses to round the circle and then take a right back up the stem, so the gate was there to prevent that. After we pulled the gate across, we had to take rakes and smooth out the dirt – where the horses had just run – and then get the hell out of the way, because by that time, the horses had already started making their way around the track and were heading right toward us. An easy enough job. Each race I worked about three minutes with my partner and then we chilled out until the next race was ready to start.

My partner was this manly woman named Jill. She was great. A kind of Flower Child Lesbian. I was a skinny, seventeen year old going on thirty, she was thirty and took me under her wing. We worked together pulling out the gate and smoothing out the dirt, that was our job.

Pull gate. Rake dirt. Pull gate. Rake dirt.

The first part of the week this job was interesting and even a bit exciting. That wore off quickly. The job became monotonous. Everyday for six hours it was the same thing. At first we had lots to talk about and got to know each other pretty well. But after a few days, we just kind of did our work and then stared up at the sky until it was time to go to work for three minutes again.

One day, Jill asked me if I wanted to smoke a little weed with her. She told me it was great stuff and would knock my socks off for sure. She also said that it might make our job a little more interesting.

I quickly agreed.

We lit up right there. A big wide open space. She lit a cigarette as well and away we smoked. We got nice and stoned in front of a few thousand spectators and not one of them knew, although in retrospect, there were people with binoculars, perhaps they did see us but doubtful they would have known or cared.

We finished the joint, sat on the grass and watched the horses get into the gates. This usually takes a little while because some of the horses don’t want to get into the gates. Horses love to run and be free, and now here they were being crammed into this little metal box until the bell went off. Getting the horses in the start gate could be very amusing. Sometimes a horse would simply refuse to go in. They were yelled at, tugged at, pushed, threatened, sworn at, bribed.

Well, as luck would have it, for this race, the Number Four horse refused to go into the gate. They tried everything. Jill and I, high as kites, were laughing our asses off. My side hurt and the back of my skull was aching. Jill was in tears. The Number 4 horse was kicking and bucking. They tried using food, a big stick, and other methods including about ten people all around the horse trying to push and pull it to get in the start box… to no avail.

Number Four’s ears were flat back. It looked really pissed off. They delayed the race and decided to pull the horse to the owner’s chagrin. Then we heard this little Japanese looking guy, “No, No No!” he yelled. “No race… No money! No money… No eat! We put horse in gate! I help!” He began cooing and blabbering something in his language that no one seemed to understand but Jill and I.

“Jill,” I said, “can you understand what he is saying, too?”
“I told you this was good shit!” she laughed.

A few more minutes went by and the Japanese jockey had coaxed the horse into the box. He stroked the horses face and kept whispering in its ear. Jill and I were over by the gate, waiting to work, but laying down in the grass. We were both comfortable and no one seemed to notice us. We heard the warning buzz signaling the start of the race.

A second and a half later we heard the bell and the announcer over the loud speaker announce “Aaaaaand they’re off!”

Jill and I watched as the horses, in slow motion, burst from the gate and speed down the track. We watched in awe as they got farther and farther down the track going into the first turn.

I heard Jill say, “Can you hear it?”
“Hear what?” I asked over the din of the crowd cheering.
“The patter of their hooves as they run.” she answered.
I listened and watched as they rounded into the second turn. “Yes, I can hear their hooves. Wow!”

I could hear everything, and smell everything. My senses were so keen I thought I could even hear the horses thinking. This was very good weed. Too good. They sped towards the third turn. The pit pat of their hooves became louder and more real as they neared us. We watched them run. They were so beautiful. I rooted for Number Four. The horses passed us and rounded the last turn and headed for the straight-away where the winner would be determined.

We both sat up.

“Go Number Four!” I yelled.
“Come on white horse with the black spots!” Jill blurted out.

I looked at her. “That was quite a mouthful,” I said.

She ignored me.

“GO! GO!” she yelled.
“Come on!” I screamed.

And then the race was over.

It was a photo finish and we would have to wait a moment for the result of the race. It was between the Number Four horse and the Number Six horse. Jill swore. “Dammit! I thought for sure the white horse with the black spots would have won!” She wiped a tear from her eye, “but that was beautiful wasn’t it?”
“Yes, it was. That was the most beautiful race I had ever seen.” I replied.
We laid back down in the grass and looked up at the sky. We both let out a long sigh and waited for the results of the race.

“Hey, can you hear footsteps?” asked Jill.
“Yes, I can,” I replied.
“This stuff makes you so aware doesn’t it?” she asked.
“Yes it does,” I agreed.

The footsteps got closer and closer and got louder and louder.
The ground vibrated.

“WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU TWO DOING?” It was the Head Grunt.
“Taking a break,” Jill said.
“Taking a break?!” He screamed. “You take a break AFTER you work. You forgot to bring the gate out and smooth out the dirt!” My heart sank. Damn! We forgot. We really forgot.
“Do you know how dangerous that is?”
he yelled. “You two are lucky nothing happened to the horses!”

“Aahh, aahh….” I stammered.
“Oh shut up!” ordered The Grunt. “Stand up! You’re going back to park cars and sweep up garbage and horse-shit.”

That took a second to sink in. My raking the dirt dream job was instantly over.

“No I’m not,” I heard myself blurt out. The Grunt looked me up and down.
“Yes you are! And you are going to do it now!” He bellowed.
“I’m going to California.” I turned to Jill, “Jill, it was nice getting to know you. Thanks for the moment.” I walked past the Head Grunt to the office to collect my wages for the day.
“Hey! You have work to do! You just can’t leave!” he yelled after me.
“I think he just did,” I heard Jill say. “Bye my friend!  I hope you find what you’re looking for!”

I went into the office and told them I was on my way.
“Can’t you just stay and finish out the week?” said one of the office workers.
“You can’t just leave,” said another.
“You are going to stay,” said a rough-looking, fat guy. “We’ll up your salary a bit, how does that sound?”
Right when I was about to give in to their country bumpkin hospitality, I looked out the window and saw Jill laughing and waving. Then I saw her point to the finish line where the results from the race were posted.

Number Four lost by a nose.

The horse that was pushed, tugged at, yelled at, sweet talked and bribed to get into that box, only to lose the race anyway.
“No,” I said firmly. I began to feel hot and I swear I felt my ears go back flat against my skull. “Give me my money, please – I’m outa here.”

They weren’t going to stuff me into any box, no siree!

My mind wandered for a bit during the commotion I caused by my abrupt resignation when I realized someone was asking me, “Did you just say we can’t stuff you in a box?”
“What the hell are you talking about?” said another.
“If that’s the way you want it,” said the rough-looking, fat man. He pulled a few bills out of his wallet and gave them to me.

“Thanks,” I said as I stuffed the bills into my front pocket and walked out the door.

As I was leaving, I had one last look at the stands with the colorful crowd in their various Hillbilly garb. I looked over at the horses getting ready for the next race and I swore that I could hear the pit-pat of their hooves as they were led to the gate.

I saw Jill in the distance sitting on a fence waiting for the start of the race and staring up at the sky.

I raced to California.

Ended up in Arizona…
