The Meat Eater’s Bull Shit Argument: Plants Have Feelings, Too!


I responded to a blog post about the treatment and killing of animals when an apparent meat eater posted – to me specifically – that Plants are Alive! Insinuating that Plants have Feelings too!

I hear this statement often, and usually don’t respond as I assume they are either taking the piss, or I feel they’re just too fucking dumb to explain that while plants and animals are both ‘alive’ their ‘Alive-ness’ is fundamentally different.

But this guy seemed pretty cool, and so I began to respond until I realized my response was longer than anticipated and decided to make it a blog post… because why not?

Here it is:

Paul, and what about those who eat plants? aren’t those alive too?
Some manner of consistency must be attained.
What we need is balance, not black and white statements. We eat everything like pigs and destroy the lives of many animals without need. We even torture them like this poor bear. That is the problem. Meat-eating itself is not the problem.

While I applaud your realization that the torture of animals is wrong (so I assume you hunt and/or raise your own animals to eat, or know exactly where your meat is coming from? Or are you playing Devil’s Advocate?)… your response “plants are alive too!” is typical for meat eaters who need to feel justified because of their addiction to meat.

Now, I’m going to assume you’re a rational person. If so, please continue reading.

People that consume meat (Meaters) argue that “plants have feelings, too” to justify their meat eating. The Meater is implying that these feelings the plant may have are comparable to the feelings of animals… because you know, plants are ‘alive’ too… so they have feelings… which seems to be your argument.

But have you really thought about this?

(I’m glad you did not pose the even more ridiculous argument – that there is far more killing of plants by vegetarians than the killing of animals by meat eaters. I’ll get to that in a moment, you know just in case you or anyone else reading this brings it up.)

The Evolution of Plants and Animals

Plants have been around for more than a billion years, while animals have been gracing our planet about 600 million years and over time plants and animals have evolved in different ways.

Plants – specifically plants that animals consume – have also evolved where they are dependent on an animal species to survive (corn – not GMO that’s a whole other can of worms- is a good example of this).

About 350 million years ago plants that have seeds were evolving and their very survival relied on animals to spread their seeds. Birds ate certain plants and pooped out the seeds (this still happens). Nectar-eating bees transferred pollen from one plant to another (that still happens too though the Shitty Habits of our species are killing the bees off)…. So while animals fuck to perpetuate their ‘seed’  plants – especially plants that produce stuff that can be eaten like grains, legumes and fruit – evolved to perpetuate their seed in this way.

If I came after you with a baseball bat, a knife or a gun and you had a chance to run… would you? Would you be scared? Would you run for your life?

Well that is Evolution at work. Fear saves us, Pain also has a function in our evolution… and we fear pain and death.

This is how we evolved and survived as a species and were THUS able to propagate our ‘seed’ – this is the way it works for animals,,, cause ya can’t propagate if you’re dead.

It is not how it works for plants, however. Please note that plants are many times older than animals. Do plants feel pain? Certainly not the way animals do. Do plants have a central nervous system sending pain stimulation/signals to any sensory receptors on their body like animals do? No, they don’t, and if they did, plants would have evolved a helluva lot differently than they have, and we would be eating other stuff (thus making how we live far different too).

This is the beauty of evolution and why shit works and why we are the way we are today… and why plants are the way they are.

Pain is an unpleasant feeling often caused by intense or damaging stimuli, like getting cracked in the face with a baseball bat and breaking your nose or skull or knocking out your teeth. Pain motivates animals – ALL FUCKING ANIMALS –  including the tortured chickens, pigs and cows you most likely eat, to run away from damaging situations (except the animals you eat CAN’T run away, can they?).

After animals (which includes our species) experience pain from an injury, and they don’t die from what gave them the  pain/injury, they protect the damaged body part while it heals… cast on a broken arm? Bandages on a head wound?

And then animals avoid similar experiences in the future… and if they don’t, their species most likely dies out. That’s Darwin.

Plants did not evolve this way.

Do plants have feelings? Perhaps, there are a few interesting studies about plants & feelings out there.

Do they feel pain like humans?  Do they feel pain like animals that are killed for food do.. with no central nervous system?

No. Making the argument plants have feelings too! moot.

Do plants run away? No. Why? Because they did not evolve that way. Why? Because they didn’t have to.

Logic at work here. Reread above if you don’t get it.

Moving on.

Early Humans Eating Meat To Survive

The very act of eating meat by our species 100,000 years ago or so was for survival... not because they thought eating an animal was yum yum.

What was easier 100,000 years ago? 60,000 years ago? 5000 years ago? Hunting an animal that:

A. doesn’t want to be killed and runs away, forcing you to expend valuable energy to try to catch it and eat it (and waste your energy on the chance you might not catch it)?

B. doesn’t want to be killed and might fucking kill and eat you?

C. or picking some stationary plant (that also uses you for their survival – though some plants CAN kill you and our species learned that pretty goddam fast) that you waste almost NO energy on and won’t rip your F@#$%^&* head off then eat you and your family?

So generally, eating meat was a seasonal thing when there was nothing left to pick (we hadn’t picked up farming yet). We evolved out of Africa between 200,000 and 100,000 years ago… and humans didn’t start leaving the continent til about 60,000 years ago… which means we all evolved pretty much the same way concerning what we consumed for food.

Next, my Meat Loving Acquaintance, let’s quickly discuss how meat is raised.

Raising Animals for Food and the Effects on the Environment


Do you know how much fucking plant food it takes to raise a fucking cow? Do you know what the cost of meat production is?

Twenty Pounds of plant protein for one fucking pound of beef.

So every time you enjoy a big fat steak, we could be feeding a bunch of other humans on our planet with no food (I won’t get into how certain corporations are fucking up our planet with their various money making productions at the risk of not just people that live in the area of their production, but the entire planet).

The animals that are consumed are generally vegetarian (cows)  or omnivores (pigs/chickens). Factory farmed animals live in shitty torturous environments… then are murdered in the most heinous ways you can imagine.

Then, their often diseased carcasses with much less nutrients than the meat your great grandparents ate (as they probably ate free range everything and a LOT LESS OF IT) is frozen and shipped all over the world and put on the plates of the Ignorant, the Apathetic or those Addicts in denial who say, Plants are alive! or Plants have Feelings, too!

We do not have to eat meat to get our protein. Protein is in everything. Humans eat meat in this day and age because they are addicted to it. Just like people are addicted to alcohol or video games….

You don’t have to drink.
You don’t have to sit in front of a computer screen for 16 hours playing a video game.

But there are those who do, because that’s what addicts do.

Why Meat Taste Good

But meat TASTE SO GOOD!  I hear this bullshit all the time. Ignorant ass bullshit.

I’ve had enough with the snarky little jab: “if humans weren’t meant to eat meat why did god make it delicious?”

Yeah? Start eating fucking rats, pig balls, cow intestines and fucking rabbit ass and tell me how delicious that is you fucking half a fucktard.

Let’s take a fun digression and make a list of other stuff people think taste good:

*People in China think Chicken Ass tastes good.

*Some people eat stinky ass smelling bleu fucking cheese because they think it tastes good.

*People in Korea and Vietnam eat dog meat.

*Rednecks and cowboys eat fucking Rocky Mountain Oysters AKA Pig Testicles.

*Scottish People eat a dish that is made from a sheep’s stomach stuffed with diced sheep’s liver, lungs and heart, oatmeal, onion, suet and seasoning called Haggis. YUM.

*In Asia there is a fruit that smells like socks that have been worn for a week on sweaty feet, it’s called Durian… though it taste better than it smells.

*Here in Taiwan they eat something called Chou Dou Fu or stinky bean curd. They fucking love it… and it smells like someone stepped in shit (the first time I smelled it – I thought I DID step in shit. I checked my shoes and everything)… but I will say that if someone put a gun to my head, I’d eat the stinky tofu before I ate that fucking bleu cheese.

People around the world eat fucked up shit that they think tastes good because they grew up with it and associate this food with good memories.

So enough with the selfish “It taste good” bullshit.

Try not cooking your meat and keep it unseasoned and see how fucking ‘delicious’ your dead animal is.

So to those who think eating an apple is the same as eating an animal… it’s time to get your head out of your ass.

You’re on the right path, good sir. At least you care enough to comment, recognize there is a huge fucking problem in the meat industry and seem willing to do something about it.

It’s a step in the right direction.

Cleanse Now And Again, Make Minor Diet Changes and Live Healthy

Greetings & Welcome! This article was originally written in 2008 for the Health Section of the Taichung Voice (now defunct).

This article is meant as an introduction/synopsis. My hope is that there is enough information provided so that you may make important life changes. We only go around once in this life, so let’s live it (healthy) for all it’s worth.
I have broken my educational rant down to a few sections:


Who is cleansing for? Is it for the Vegan or the Hippy? Is a good Cleanse meant for the Beatnik or the Long-Haired, bead wearing, Flower Child promoting Peace & Love? These are certainly the stereotypes. But do you ever wonder why all these types of people seem happy and calm (except when talking about Politics that is)? It may have something to do with their diets. Many disregard the many forms of Vegetarianism as odd or eccentric.

Cleansing & Health often get thrown by the wayside because the thought of a cleanse or changing one’s Lifestyle seems too difficult. Many often laugh at or scorn the Vegetarian. But maybe there is something to it, eh?

I have studied Wellness &  Health for about thirty years. My Library has a plethora of books about the Human Body. I don’t just read about Health, I practice & experiment on my body. By doing this, I have seen the Light. Much of what I have discovered concurs with much of what I have read. The Proof is in the Pudding, they say… though you better stay away from the Pudding.

I have included a list of very helpful books and sources at the end that I urge you to take a look at. I hope this article serves as an eye opener and that you will do some investigating on your own.


Nutrition & Health are seldom taught at home or in our schools. Being a skinny kid, I got into weight lifting when I joined the army at eighteen. This in turn got me into Nutrition – though it took years before I realized that many bodybuilders don’t eat right either. One thing that helped me take the Healthy Path was that I learned how the digestive system worked. I was fairly knowledgeable about vitamins & minerals, but researching and collecting a variety of  information has transformed my Life.
I have scoured one book after another and have found an abundance of information on-line. I’ve spoken with nutritionists & medical doctors many of whom have been of great assistance.

Why health? I figure we only have one Body. We can’t trade it in for a new one. It makes sense that we should take care of the one we got.  Knowledge is Power. You can have the power over your own body with just a little knowledge.

2. MEAT:

Growing up I always heard, ‘don’t eat too much red meat’. Why? I asked. I was told that it was not good for my heart. Yet it is in one of the ‘food groups’ recommended by the government. If professionals are claiming that red meat is not good for us, then why are the masses consuming such large quantities of it? Marketing & Education (indoctrination) may have something to do with it. People still go to McSwindle Burgers, Burger Krap and The Dirty Bird all the time. Why would people go to these fast food places when they know it is not good for them?

It amazes me.

Being a hardcore meat-eater for many years ( a typical day would be steak & eggs for breakfast, beef tips for lunch and a nice sirloin for supper) I felt meat was an important part of my diet as a body builder. I felt ‘justified’ eating enormous amounts of dead animal because I hit the gym hard everyday and ‘needed’ the protein. But a few years ago, I realized I could not ignore the dangers of meat any longer… I also realized that if one is eating meat for protein, they are not getting as much protein as they think they are because much of the meat is not properly digested.

Other sources of Protein:

Legumes: Garbanzo beans, kidney beans, soybeans, split peas, lentils, lima beans, navy beans,

Grains: Brown Rice, Barley, oatmeal, quinoa, rye, wheat germ, buckwheat, millet, wheat, wild rice

Vegetable Protein: Cauliflower, cucumbers, eggplant, green peas, green pepper, Artichokes, beets, broccoli, brussels sprouts, cabbage,  kale, lettuce, mushroom,  watercress, yams, zucchini, mustard green, onions, potatoes, spinach, tomatoes, turnip greens,

Protein in Fruit: honeydew melon, orange, papaya, peach, pear, pineapple, strawberry, apple, banana, cantaloupe, grape, grapefruit,  tangerine, watermelon

Protein in Nuts & Seeds: Almonds, cashews, filberts, hemp seeds, peanuts, pumpkin seeds, sesame seeds, sunflower seeds, walnuts (black)

Mind you, initially I did not give up meat because I felt bad for the little creatures, though now my philosophies have changed since then. I gave up meat strictly to stay Healthy. I knew I had to give it up. And believe me, I didn’t want to. It tasted so good! But I realized that really it’s all just programming. We can train ourselves to think almost anything tastes good. That’s why many Taiwanese like chou dou fu (stinky tofu) & chicken ass/feet… we must de-program ourselves.

I know now that eating meat really boils down to animals suffering and dying for the taste buds only.

I also thought that if I gave up meat, then what would I eat? I found out easily enough. And have expanded my food options like never before. I don’t miss meat anymore, though the smell of a good BBQ always makes me smile.

Purely psychological.

One reason I gave up meat is that a lot of it is genetically modified. For example, much of the chicken used for the fried chicken patties you get at the roadside stall , are now bred with no heads and just enough of a brain stem to keep their bodily functions going to keep them alive. Generally it takes a chick a full six months to reach adulthood. A chick now can become a ‘chicken’ with lots of meat on it in about a month… enormous profits are being made by the Corporations at the cost of your Health. And I am not just talking about meat. I’m talking about additives in processed food, so it looks good, tastes better and is more addictive.

Unless I am raising an Animal by myself in my backyard for food, I don’t trust any meat that is mass-produced. I also trust no government agency that says the Dead Animal you are munching on is safe to eat. The FDA is a joke. I do not trust the corporations either; they exist to turn a Profit.

Some time ago, here in Taiwan where I reside, there were a few tons of diseased pork that was supposed to have been disposed of, but instead ‘disappeared’. I wonder where it went. These are just the People that got caught! I hope you have not been eating pork lately.

Here are some of the problems with eating meat:

• A lot of meat is genetically modified.
• The living conditions of these animals are often unsanitary which goes directly into you when you eat it.
• The breeding practices for animals meant for consumption are questionable ( i.e.; animals eating their own species mixed in with their feed, shot full of Hormones and shot full of Antibiotics to keep them from getting too sick in their tightly packed living areas etc).
• Too much ingested meat is NOT good for you (See INTESTINES).
• Cooked meat can be cancer causing.

Animals now carry diseases that infect humans and symptoms might not show up for years. Mad Cow Disease is the perfect example. Symptoms for this debilitating disease might not show up for over 10 years. I watched a documentary of a young women late 20s dying of this. So when they say that was an isolated case, or, that happened in another country or ‘our’ meat is fine… it is all BULLSHIT –  no one has any way of knowing you ate contaminated meat.

Our fowl have the flu and our swine have foot & mouth disease. They tell you it is safe… but how can you ever be sure? Again there are documentaries and information out there concerning fellow humans dying of these diseases. And I don’t believe these poor souls thought that they were eating any contaminated meat at the time. After all, that meat was FDA or USDA approved right? Then it should be fine. Right? They do not give a shit about you. They care about money. If you want to be healthy, it is up to you to take charge of what goes into your body.

Remember, you are ingesting all that crap and it is doing a number on your body. Cows eat GMO feed that has pesticides in it, you eat the cow. I won’t get into the Bovine Milk thing here, that’s another article, but it is appalling.

Here’s a disturbing thought; many of you reading this already have cancer and do not even know it. Think about it. A man, say 47 years old, gets cancer. It is not something he got yesterday; it is something he had growing in him for years. And though genetics and environment have their roles with him getting cancer, it is arguably his diet that gets him into trouble  (We will get to FREE RADICALS and ANTI-OXIDANTS in a moment).

With all this in mind, quite a few years ago, I decided to give up meat and only eat raw vegetables and fruit for a week and then fast for a couple days to see what would happen. That was when my life started to change.


After what was supposed to be a week of organic fruit & vegetables, I tried it another week and then another. As a body builder, this was difficult for me, especially when I went from 85KG  (and less than 15% body fat at any given time) or so to less than 70 KG in about 3 weeks. I had lost all my fat (I was only about 10% body fat right before my cleanse), a little muscle I’m sure (I got that back later) and pounds of toxic waste. What came out of me was indescribable. Those of you who have done a Cleanse before know what I am talking about… those of you that don’t, try experimenting yourself.  You’ll be amazed. It is not le poo poo that comes out… but a Toxic Monster that takes on all shapes, colors and odor; the likes that you have never experienced coming out of you in your life.

It freaked me out.

Had I not been researching the Art of Cleansing & Building the Immune System, I would have checked myself into a hospital or found an exorcist. The evacuation did not look ‘natural’ and emitted a chemical smell that one might smell when traveling up the east coast through New Jersey.

The Monster that emerged was years of Dead Animal accumulation, a hardened mucous (like a plaque) see INTESTINES.

After my first Cleanse, I felt more energetic. My skin looked better. I had no more indigestion. In fact, it has been years and I have never been sick. Not a cold. Flu. Fever. Nothing. My weight eventually leveled off. I fluctuate between 73 KG and 78 KG depending on the season and what kind of exercise program I am following. But most importantly my immune system is strong. My aggressive nature is also less prevalent. I have also reduced my risk of heart problems, cancer and anything else that bombards human beings.

And all it took was a little discipline and a little research.

Though I refrain from eating meat, I do not believe – like some Vegetarians – that Early Humans did not eat meat. I disagree. Early humans did ingest meat sometimes, especially when fruit and vegetables were not in abundance. In most parts of the world meat was never the main focus of the diet however. In fact, eating habits for most Human’s right up until recent times were generally low in carbs with lots of fruit & vegetables. Some meat was eaten when it was available (ever try hunting? It’s not as easy). Compare that to diets today that consist of high carbs and lots of meat. It is not natural. I don’t believe our bodies are equipped to handle that everyday of our lives. Heart attacks victims are getting younger and younger. Obesity is rampant. Heart attacks & obesity were almost unheard of in the early 1900s. I have a few conspiracy ideas about why heart disease and obesity are such a problem… I won’t get into them in detail here… but take a glance at the DOCTORS section.


Here is a list of why I might go to the doctor:
• To sew me back up if I get bit by a shark.
• To set my bones if I high dive into a pool and I find out too late that there is no water in it.
• Remove tattoos with a laser. (It hurts too!)
• Delivering a baby (though a midwife might be better).
• To perform surgery for removing cancer (though there are other options depending on how far along the cancer is (see GOOGLE below).
• Doctors are also good at pumping us full of antibiotics when we are sick (antibiotics do not work very well against a virus)

Doctors are good at cosmetic things too like:
• Liposuction (eeeewwww)
• Making your breasts bigger (or smaller)
• Doctors are pretty good at changing the features on your face i.e. making your teeth straight or giving you a pretty nose.

Doctors are not good at finding a cure. They generally are there to make you feel comfortable and promote Pharmaceuticals.  ‘Cures’ can also be very expensive and might not work.

Technological advances in the Medical Field are certainly an achievement for Human Kind. Knee reparation is a a good example. Knee surgery is now common place and has eased the suffering of millions through-out the world. But surgery should always be used as a last resort.

Unfortunately surgery is often abused, but hey, it’s Profitable.

Did you know that your average medical doctor is not required to take any nutrition courses in order to get their medical degree?
How can one trust doctors whom are not required to take any Nutrition courses? And why do they want you to be healthy anyway? They make money from you when you are sick. They want to prescribe you drugs and make appointments for this often pays for that long vacation and new BMW. Not all doctors of course, but take away the high salaries and see how many doctors we get.

Allow me to digress a moment…

If you are a Truth Seeker, then you know that the government does not want smart, healthy people in its dominion. They would be too difficult to manage and god forbid if the government was overthrown. They want dumb, docile people that are easy to control.

Sun Zi in the ‘Art of War’ writes that there are two ways to control the masses:

1. Keep them ignorant; fed and entertained, so they will not meddle in government affairs.

2. Keep them living in a constant state of Fear (sounds like the States, huh?)
Call me crazy, but that is why medical treatment is so expensive and is not very good, it is also why education systems around the world basically suck. More on that another time.


They are all bullshit. They are DIE with a T. I love when I go back State-side and I hear things like, “oh I am trying the Oprah diet. It worked for her.”

Yeah right, she practically starved herself … took some pictures, and all the sheople were like,  ‘oh Oprah, our hero… you go girl!” And then she gained it all back plus some. These fad diets are all BS because they pump you full of hope, then break you down with no way to build you back up again. And if you fail, it is YOUR fault not theirs. You have been duped. These diets all have sexy people do commercials for them and make you think that you need to be like them, but you know what? It’s all a farce. The diets usually do not require the vitamins needed for your average person. The Grapefruit diet? Come on. Eating nothing but grapefruit to lose weight? That could do some serious damage to your body and immune system. Stay away from these diets promising you that you will be the sexiest thing alive… they are missing the whole point.

What is the point? The point is being Healthy. If you live Healthy and take care of your body (the only one you got) you will lose weight by default. I’m not going to be polite here. I am not going to give fat a cute name like pleasantly plump. If you are fat and have health problems (it is connected), it is because of your eating habits/Life-style. Fat bogs down your system, makes your heart work overtime, clogs up the arteries, makes your immune system sluggish and generally makes you feel overall crappy. And the ironic thing is that you don’t know how crappy you felt until after a Cleanse/Life-style change. Most often fat is a by-product of being unhealthy. Our bodies were not meant to be lugging around all that extra poundage. There is nothing good to be said about it. If you are fat, statistically,  you will die earlier. I have had some people say that they don’t care if they die early… What a selfish copout.

Many North Americans and Europeans (members of my family included) are over-weight, obese and unhealthy. How many times have we heard, “I have a weight problem.” I love that one. The problem is not the weight, my dear. The problem is YOU. Stop stuffing yourself with the highly addictive garbage food! What the hell do you do that for? With a little discipline and understanding, you can be Healthy. You don’t want to focus on losing weight. You do want to focus on being Healthy. You will lose weight by default. Stop getting on the scale to see how much you weigh… who cares? Throw the scale away. It is a terrible barometer, because our weight fluctuates from hour to hour!

A lot of what we lose the first few days is water weight. You really must understand your body so you know what kind of weight you’re losing. Muscle weighs more than fat remember. If you are cleansing, a few KG will be ‘evacuated’ when it is scraped off your intestine walls.

Also remember, our parents are our teachers. Remember being sad when you were a kid… what did mom or dad or a grandparent do often? They gave you candy or ice cream to make you feel better…. or to make you stop crying. Fast forward to when you are an adult, what makes you feel good? Eating sweets? Why? Because they taste good… why? I’ll tell you why, because we were all TAUGHT that they do.

So now Ms. Chubs feels down because she does not look like the pictures in the magazine… she eats a few chocolate bars and feels good .. briefly. Then it all goes to her thighs & ass AND it is not nutritious; thus the body is lacking nutrients it NEEDS to survive. Almost like putting something in the gas tank besides a combustible fluid. She feels bad… to make herself feel good again she eats MSG laden potato chips that are all the same shape.

Mr. Chubs eats a big chili dog or a Philly steak & cheese. He gets fatter, his heart is under more strain, and he feels terrible… so what does he do? He binges again.

This shite accumulates in your body.  And it also disrupts your body getting the nutrients it needs. How you may ask? Read INTESTINES.

Do you want to be Healthy? Do you want to live to be a ripe old age? Then watch what you put into your body. It is that simple. Get a little exercise. It doesn’t have to be too much. Just get the heart rate up. Do a couple Cleanses and get that disgusting toxic waste – yes TOXIC – out of your body. I have done a few… and let me say it again…  you will not believe what will come out of you.

If you joined the gym and some big muscle guy is telling you how to be fit and healthy… be wary. A lot of these guys are regurgitating Fitness mag BS. But he looks so good, he must be doing something right. Not necessarily. Generally, a lot of these guys at the gym… believe me I know, I was one of them… are big meat eaters. They stuff themselves and then work out all day. Many do know about how the digestive system works, they know about the body but only in relation to bodybuilding or power lifting. Though I do have bodybuilding friends that are very knowledgeable, they are few and far between.

Aaahh, so what do we do? We can’t trust the magazines, we can’t trust Mr. Universe, can’t trust the FDA they are always screwing up and recalling shit. So who do we trust?

Mother Nature. She hasn’t failed us yet.

It is almost a no-brainer.


First, prepare you body for a little basic training. You have to cleanse. Get the crap that has been in your body for YEARS  to come out. It will be reluctant… but after a while… you will be clean on the inside… everything else will just fall into place. But don’t do it cold turkey… though you are welcome to try. It would be like trying to get off heroin… you may be addicted to carbs, meat and probably garbage food that has addictive things added to it so that you will eat it and keep eating it.

Prepare your body. For the next week. Eat fruits and vegetables, if you eat meat, allow yourself to eat meat every other day. You can alternate meat on Monday carbs on Tues. Do not mix your proteins and carbs (Read INTESTINES). Eat as much fruit, vegetables and legumes as you want. Eat until you are not hungry. You may be hungry every ½ hour and that is OK. Eat often, just make sure it is fruits, vegetables and legumes. You will become quite creative in ways to make your dishes. The second week, cut the meat and carbs out. Continue to eat raw vegetables and fruit, with one cooked dish a day. The third week, only raw fruits & vegetables. By this time you are already noticing differences in your body, you might have even had an interesting evacuation experience.

On the last day of the third week. Try not to eat anything. Fast for the day. Keep yourself busy, but don’t do anything too strenuous. If you can, give two days a try. Perhaps you fast for the daylight then have a very light meal of fruit in the evening. It’s ok. Over the next 5 weeks or so, your body will be going through many changes. You are building up your immune system. In two months you will be a new person.

I know people that have been trying to get healthy or lose weight since I was a youngun’, they are still trying to lose weight twenty-five years later. Two months doesn’t seem like much. There are many types of cleanses you can do, do a bit of research, talk to me if you see me, or look for the books I have listed below.


You got to keep the intestines clean for the following reasons:

• Keep digestion normal.
• To make sure you are getting all the nutrients from your food.
• To keep your immune system strong.
• To keep the parasites (you probably have them, yes) at bay.
• To keep free radicals from accumulating and doing their dirty work.

The intestines should be like a processor, taking the food you eat, breaking it down taking out what it needs through osmosis in the small intestine and then the large intestine and finally to the colon where it is evacuated as waste. The problem is that most people do not digest their food well. They eat too much (going to all you can eat places and gorging is a bit stupid) and they eat the wrong food combinations (carbs and proteins). With the enormous amount of information out there, it can be a bit overwhelming to sift through it all, but in a moment you will see a few Guidelines I have boiled down for you (See COMMANDMENTS).

Our bodies were not designed (I use the word design loosely)  to eat proteins and carbohydrates together. This is what I was talking about when I mentioned food combinations. For example, when you eat beef noodles or chicken and rice or a ham sandwich or a BK Burger with cheese, these are the worst food combinations you can put into your body! Your body digests the noodles i.e. the carbs first. Your body naturally goes after the sugars first (yes carbs are a sugar).

Meat takes a lot longer to digest… some of it doesn’t get digested. The dead animal that you ingested sits in your small intestine in a very humid 98.6F (and is still rotting by the way discharging lots of free radicals which are the building blocks for diseases such as cancer) an ideal breeding ground for parasites and free radicals. Now the body has to protect itself, so it excretes this mucous to keep the walls of your intestines from rotting too. If you eat meat and carbs together once in a while, then this mucous would be flushed out with the bile naturally, but since people are eating carbs and protein together almost everyday for every meal, this mucous gets hard and turns into a plaque… and it accumulates and stays in you forever unless you cleanse it out. This causes parasites (that feed on this plaque) and can eventually make you sick.


What is a free radical? Basically it is a molecule missing an electron making it is an unstable and reactive. It then seeks other cells to cannibalize their electron  – making it a free radical as well. This is cancer, heart disease and the rust on your car. Sounds dismal doesn’t it? There is hope. The enemy of the free radical is the antioxidant. It engulfs the molecule and lets itself become a ‘weak’ free radical that won’t do any damage to your tissues. Lipoic Acid, Q10, vitamin C and E, they stop free radicals and in some cases restore them as active anti-oxidants.

And the rest….

9. The Eleven Healthy Commandments:

With the glut of information out there, it can be a bit overwhelming to sift through it all, but here are a few rules I have boiled down for you. Your best bet for healthy living (and by default keeping your weight down) is to do the following:

1. Eat when you are hungry. Most people are conditioned to eat three meals a day. This is ludicrous. People started eating like this when they were made to work in the factories. Eating at appointed times is not natural. Our species is the only animal  on earth that does this.

2. Eat until you are not hungry. I know this sounds weird, but eating until you are ‘stuffed’ is bad for you. It makes your system work harder than normal and you are robbed of vitamins your body usually processes easily if not burdened with being over taxed. If that means putting your fork back down and literally walking out of the room and then walking back in to see if you still have those hunger pangs then do it. Pack up what you didn’t eat and eat it later.

3. Do not eat proteins and carbs together. If you must eat meat, then try to at least skip a day. Eat meat on alternate days like Mondays and carbs on Tuesdays etc. Eat nuts, legumes, fruits and vegetables everyday.

4. Do not eat carbs after 6ish PM if you go to bed at midnight. We do not get much exercise when we sleep. The carbs are just kind of feeding the fat cells.

5. Drinks LOTS of water. Water is a great cleansing agent.

6. Try to fast one day a month. Don’t forget to drink water mixed with lemon and chili peppers that day.

7. At least once a week, eat fruits and vegetables only. You will be doing your body a great service with these slight changes.

8. Use ‘green drinks’ if you are able to get a hold of them. They replenish everything.

9. Generally, if man made it, be wary and use sparingly. This includes bread, noodles, all junk food, and most carbohydrate.

10. Get a little exercise in to get your heart rate up. You don’t have to pump iron or run 10 miles a day. A 10 minute walk around the block or climbing stairs for about 10 minutes every other day will suffice. I recommend doing more, but try to do at least that.

11. Deep breathing and stretching a couple times a week for 10 minutes. Take 20 deep breaths every day.



1. Prevention is the best cure.
2. It takes less money to live healthy than going to see the doctor when you are sick.
3. You will lose weight by default the healthy way and will not gain it back if you continue with the lifestyle. You do not have a ‘weight problem’ you have a YOU problem, easily fixed with eating habit changes.
4. Your sex life will be better.
5. Your thinking will be clearer.
6. You will become agitated less (while cleansing though sometimes agitation is heightened, but that is because your body is de-toxing).
7. You will drastically slow the aging process.
8. Your immune system will be stronger.
9. Your heart will be healthier.

I agree we eat only when hungry.
Few years ago, I was eating when I was happy, sad, or nervous or wanted to celebrate something and even just only smelt the food or saw the food commercials.
I ate all the time. I gained lots of weight and felt unhappy, and then I quit those eating habits.
Now, I eat only when I am hungry. I feel happy, healthy and appreciate the food.
My rules for healthy life are very simple–eating right and working out.
Avoid eating dairy products( alfredo pasta taste good but makes me diarrhea), confectioneries, deep fried foods, and meats.
Exercise at least 4 times a week, every time for 45 mins.
Very Simple, right?
Ya, I have done a short, medium and a monster fast… it’s just too bad I don’t have the discipline to cutting out all the junk after and keeping on a regular exercise program. I was looking into doing a kidney flush… but there are lots of roots that i don’t know how to find. I will do more research on it. Do you know of any foods that are good for kidneys?
I know cherries, grapes, and strawberries are good for flushing out toxic wastes from the kidney.
Stick to fresh vegetables and fruits and drink plenty of water.

The Dangers of Bovine Milk

The purpose of this article is to let Readers know about the Dangers of Bovine Milk and dispel any Myths.

MILK: Nothing For Everybody I first introduced this topic in The Taichung Voice June 2008 (Vol. 5 Issue 6).

Milk is UNhealthy and long-term use could be detrimental. I know this may be hard to swallow since we have been brainwashed since children to believe that milk is good for us. This report includes detailed information on a substance that is Taboo to talk about negatively in the Mainstream Media.
The DANGERS of Milk. Milk? You ask.
I grew up on milk! You exclaim.
It’s healthy! You cry out.
It MUST be good for me! The Commercials say it’s true!

How did Milk get to the status it enjoys now? Good marketing to be sure. Not just from the corporations, but even the Bible talks about the Land of Milk and Honey… Now who can argue with GOD? I won’t get into the Bible here, but there was definitely meaning Lost in Translation. I mean, really, ask yourself:

How Natural &  Healthy is an animal’s milk for a Human?

When a puppy is weaned off its Momma’s Milk, does it seek the milk of a goat or a cat? Why do people think drinking milk from an animal is Natural, yet when a pregnant woman (for fun – and I have seen this) asks: Would you like to try some of my milk? People crinkle their noses and shudder? They would rather drink milk from another species than from their own?!

Think about that.

Generally, mammals are exclusively breast-fed until they have tripled their birth weight, which in Human Infants occurs around the age of one year-ish (though there are no adverse effects in drinking Mother’s milk until after two years old.) In no mammalian species, except for the Human, is Milk consumption continued after the weaning period. NONE. Calves thrive on cow milk. Cow’s milk is for baby cows. Human milk is specific for the development of the Brain. Bovine milk is specific for rapid body growth for the calf. So yes, there are stats for breast-fed babies on average having higher I.Qs than an Infant that was raised on cow milk or formula. No pun intended, but it seems to be a no-brainer! 1.What We’re Led To Believe

The advantages of milk, they say, are numerous. Millions of dollars a year are spent in corporate advertising so that We the People are kept up to date on the ‘value’ of milk. The corporation spends these millions of dollars every year because they’re selling a Product. They won’t tell you the adverse effects of milk because it’s not in their best interest. It’s business. Let’s break down what we’re led to believe. We are told that the benefits of drinking milk include:

  • CALCIUM: The myth is that the calcium in milk builds strong teeth & bones. What they don’t tell you is that you need vitamin D and magnesium to synthesize the calcium. That is why you see “Vitamin enriched!” on the bottles.

If milk is the Perfect Food, as the industry claims, then why are they adding vitamins to it?

*NOTE: synthetic vitamin D is known to be toxic to the liver.

Do we really need milk calcium for strong bones & teeth? Have you ever thought where the cows get calcium for their big bones? The calcium they consume from plants has a large amount of magnesium which is necessary for the body to absorb to use the calcium.

The calcium in cow’s milk is basically useless because it’s lacking magnesium content. Isn’t it interesting that those nations with the highest amount of milk/dairy consumption also have the highest rates of osteoporosis?


Although the calcium & protein in milk are important nutrients, telling us that dairy sources of calcium are required for strong bones is pathetic.

You’re probably wondering what happens to your bones & teeth if you stop drinking milk.


The majority of the world’s Population takes in less than half the calcium that Americans do and much of the world Population is also to some degree lactose intolerant.

There is a reason why most of the world is lactose intolerant.

This is Nature’s way of telling us enough is enough.

  • PROTEIN: Ok, so you might think; I drink milk for the protein benefits! Let’s look at that for a moment too. Milk has been called “liquid meat” because of its high protein content. BUT the way bovine milk has evolved (proteins working in concert together), actually leaches the calcium from the body. Countries that consume high protein diets (meat, milk and dairy) have the highest rates of osteoporosis.

*Also please note that 80% of the protein in milk is casein. Read about that below. It’s a Myth that you need to eat meat or drink milk for Protein. Protein is in everything. *Also note that some of the biggest Land Mammals on Earth- the elephant for example –  are Vegetarian. Where do they get their protein? We are told that we need to consume milk to prevent bone diseases, yet if we consider what happens in Nature we can look to our Paleolithic ancestors; these skeletal remains reflect great strength, muscularity (the size of the muscular insertions show this), and total absence of advanced osteoporosis. We should consider this since our modern Human genes are programming our bodies in almost exactly the same way as our ancestors of 50,000 years ago.


When do mammals excrete Milk? If I walked up to a woman with a cup asking for some of her milk, would she be able to part with a bit? ANSWER: Only if she was pregnant, and er…  willing. Are we then to believe that millions of cows stay pregnant all year long and year upon year? Of course not. How are they able to produce all this Milk then? Un-natural ways to be sure!

2.What’s in Milk and its Dangers

The UN-informed may think that Milk is the secretion of a Cow intended for human consumption (isn’t it interesting that we automatically think “cow” milk when we hear the word milk) and that there is Protein & Calcium in milk which is good for a Human’s muscles & bones. They may urge you to drink quantities of it. Indeed, there is calcium & protein in milk, as discussed earlier, but we have learned that it doesn’t matter because our bodies have better/safer ways to get these Nutrients. If you’re drinking milk because of what’s in it… …then let me tell you what else is in Milk:

  • BACTERIA from FECES: Cow’s milk is allowed to have a bit of poo in it. This is a major source for the bacteria in your milk. Milk is typically pasteurized more than once before it gets to your table… each time for only 15 seconds at 162 degrees Fahrenheit. To sanitize water, it should boil (212 degrees F) for several minutes. Hhmmm. At room temperature the number of bacteria in milk doubles about every 20 minutes.


That’s why milk quickly turns rotten.

  • PUS: A cubic centimeter (cc) of commercial cow’s milk is allowed to have up to 750,000 somatic cells (i.e. pus) and 20,000 live bacteria… before it is kept off the market. That amounts to 20 million live bacteria and up to 750 MILLION pus cells per liter.

Would you suck the pus out of someone’s wound?

Would you rather suck it off a cow?

  • CASEIN: Casein is a powerful binder… a polymer used to make plastics… in other words, a glue that’s better used to make little projects with kindergarten kids or stick labels on beer bottles. Casein is in thousands of processed foods as a binder. Look for it as ‘something’ caseinate. Casein is a powerful allergen… a histamine. 80% of the protein in milk is casein.


  • Growth Factor ONE (IGF-1): By a freak of nature, IGF-1 is identical in cows and humans. Consider this hormone to be a “fuel cell” for any cancer. Even the medical world says IGF-1 is a key factor in the rapid growth and proliferation of breast, prostate and colon cancers. Many scientists suspect that most likely it will be found to promote ALL cancers. IGF-1 is a normal part of ALL milk… because a newborn is supposed to grow quickly.
  • Bovine Growth Hormone (BGH): This is the latest high-tech onslaught on the poor cow. The government agency that’s supposed to protect The People from harm concerning food & drugs AND has not failed to make itself the Laughing Stock of the World, is called the FDA. If the FDA had not been guilty of approving drugs in the past that have actually killed people or made them sicker (oops we better RECALL that drug!), they’d certainly be comical.

Unfortunately, they’re not to be taken lightly. BGH is FDA approved and used by dairy farmers to increase their milk production. BGH also decreases the body fat of cows. Unfortunately, the body fat of cows is already contaminated with a wide range of carcinogens, pesticides, dioxin, and antibiotic residues. When the cows have less body fat, these toxic substances are then transported into the cows’ milk. Bovine Growth Hormone (BGH) is a genetically engineered drug that is supposed to stimulate milk production but, according to Monsanto, the hormone’s manufacturer, does not affect the milk or meat (coming from Monsanto Corporation… look at their track record… I smell BS). There have been no long-term studies on the hormone’s effect on humans drinking the milk. Other countries have banned BGH because of safety concerns. One of the problems with adding molecules to a milk-cow’s body is that the molecules usually come out in the milk. I don’t know how you feel, but I don’t want to experiment with the ingestion of a growth hormone. A related problem is that it causes a marked increase (50 to 70 per cent) in mastitis. This, then, requires antibiotic therapy, and the residues of the antibiotics appear in the milk.

  • Posilac: Cows have been tweaked and shot-up with Posilac to produce up to 55 or more pounds of milk per day… almost all year long.
  • Estrogen: Cows are milked even while they are pregnant. As a result of the pregnancy, cows secrete high levels of estrogen into their milk. This is very interesting because 10 year old girls in America are developing breasts and ‘maturing’ earlier and earlier… and so are the boys.
  • Anti-biotics: Because of the living conditions of milking cows, they are often sick or carrying diseases (which you also ingest) they’re shot up full of medicine that is ingested every time you pour yourself a glass or use it in your corn flakes.
  • Cow Blood/Pus: This is pretty gross. The inspectors are asked to keep it under certain limits. The USDA allows milk to contain from up to one and a half million white blood cells per millilitre. The white stuff that oozes out of scabs is also found in your milk.
  • LIQUAMYOCIN 200. The FDA recently approved this powerful liquid antibiotic for lactating dairy cows.

The U.S. government does not deny the above information. They support what’s revealed here by ‘allowing’ a certain amount of it in your milk. They have ‘standards’ to ensure you are not getting ‘too much’ of these substances in your milk. I equate this with the following example: If I were to make a chocolate cake and put just a minute bit of dog feces in it and then bake it… would you eat it? There would be no smell, you wouldn’t taste it, but you knew it was there. You are getting lots more than that in your milk.

The Adverse Effects of Milk:

1. CROHN’S DISEASE: Mycobacterium paratuberculosis causes a bovine disease called “Johne’s.” Cows diagnosed with Johne’s Disease have diarrhea, and heavy fecal shedding of bacteria. This bacteria becomes cultured in milk, and is not destroyed by pasteurization. Occasionally, the milk-borne bacteria will begin to grow in the human host, and the results are irritable bowel syndrome and Crohn’s Disease.

2. MAD COW DISEASE: There may also be prions (PREons) in milk and meat. This crystalline substance acts like a virus with an “incubation” period of 5 to 30 years. So that steak you ate last night could manifest itself in your body and make you into an incapacitated dribbling invalid in a few years and there is nothing you can do about it.

3. POLLUTION: There are over 9 million dairy cows in the U.S. A cow excretes around 275 pound of urine and feces per day for a daily total of 2.53 BILLION pounds of pollution. Per year… that amounts to around 923 billion pounds of UNTREATED pollution entering our streams, rivers, lakes… and drinking water systems (add that to the extremely toxic fluoride they put into the water and you have quite the cocktail.).

4. OTHER DISEASES and DISORDERS: Cow’s milk is the number one allergic food in this country. It’s been well documented as a cause in diarrhea, cramps, bloating, gas, gastrointestinal bleeding, iron-deficiency anemia, skin rashes, atherosclerosis, and acne. It’s the primary cause of recurrent ear infections in children. It’s also been linked to insulin dependent diabetes, rheumatoid arthritis, infertility, and leukemia. According to Consumer Advocate, Mike Adams; milk consumption is linked with constipation, sinusitis, digestive disorders and hearing disorders.

3. The Milk Industry * Politix * Corporations full of Cow-dung

Do you remember the “Basic Food Groups Pyramid?” I remember these charts in the classroom.  Dairy was usually placed near the top. What I didn’t know, and what most of us don’t think about, is that the dairy industry provided the chart for free! Here are a few tidbits concerning what goes on behind the ‘milk’ scene:

  • 1. Corporate-owned factories where cows are warehoused and treated like milk machines have replaced most small family farms. Fifty years ago an average cow produced 2,000 pounds of milk per year. Today the top producers give 50,000 pounds. Over 20 times more than they would produce naturally.

How was this accomplished?

Drugs, antibiotics, hormones, forced feeding plans and specialized breeding with genetic manipulation and intensive production technologies. To keep milk production as high as possible, farmers artificially inseminate cows every year. Growth hormones and unnatural milking schedules cause dairy cows’ udders to become painful and so heavy that they sometimes drag on the ground, resulting in bleeding and frequent infections, thus the overuse of antibiotics.

You are drinking all this.

Cows— like all mammals— make milk to feed their calves— not humans.

  • 2. The American Dairy Board has done a very effective job of marketing this product. Most people believe they need to consume large, daily quantities of milk to achieve good health and as we are learning: NOTHING could be further from the Truth.
  • 3. MONSANTO (Monsanto Chemical Co.), maker of fine poisons such as DDT, agent orange, Roundup, rbGH (Posilac), and more… spent half a billion dollars inventing a shot to inject into cows.
  • 4. After genetically engineering BGH, Monsanto learned that cows were getting mastitis, painful ulcers on their udders which resulted in an increase in pus, blood and bacteria in milk. Monsanto arranged to have their top scientist, Margaret Miller, who was hired by the FDA. She reviewed her own research. Aware that dairy farmers would have to treat cows with more antibiotics, Miller simply raised the allowable levels of antimicrobials farmers could put in milk. Corporations do this ALL THE TIME.
  • 5. The Dairy Industry is big business, with milk sales over $11 billion annually in the USA alone. Expect hard-line marketing from them. Would one expect them to aggressively sell their products if they were known to be harmful to people, especially to women & children?

The Dairy Management Inc.’s purpose is to build demand for dairy products on behalf of America’s 80,000-plus dairy producers.

  • 6. A vice president for public policy at Monsanto was opposed to labeling because the labeling would create an ‘artificial distinction’. In other words, people using Monsanto products (and you use many of them whether you realize it or not), do not know what is going into their body.

Why not give conscience labeling? Are there any reasons why a company would not want to label what is in their product?

I can only think of one answer why.

  • 7. If you are an American vegan, you’re paying for dairy products! The industry produces more milk than consumed. Tax payers pay for storage costs because the law requires the USDA to buy any surplus of butter, cheese, or non-fat dry milk at a support price set by Congress! For example, in 1991, the USDA spent $757 million on surplus butter, and one billion dollars a year on average for price supports during the 1980s (Consumer Reports, May 1992: 330-32).
  • 8. The dairy industry is diligently trying to convince humans that a nutritionally formulated beverage designed for baby cows should be routinely consumed by human beings.
  • 9. Authorities test for only 4 of the 82 drugs in dairy cows. Yet the Milk Industry Foundation’s spokesman, Jerome Kozak claims, “I still think that milk is the safest product we have.”

Question Authority.

  • 10. The United States General Accounting Office (GAO) tells us that the FDA and the individual States are failing to protect the public from drug residues in milk.
  • 11. Michael Hansen of Consumers Reports testified and brought attention to Congressional committees that 52 drugs are known to be used as antibiotics to treat mastitis. According to Consumer’s Union, FDA had approved only 30 of those antibiotics. Milk is routinely tested for the presence of six different antibiotics. Farmers are aware of the antibiotics being tested. Could they be tempted to use any of the other 46 not currently being tested?
  • 12. When something doesn’t work for the dairy industry, the FDA often helps private industry by changing the standard. This does not make the product any safer but it does allow the FDA to officially state that the drug residue is “well within safe levels.” This is usually done at the expense of the consumer.
  • 13. In her book Food Politics, Marion Nestle writes how lobbyists have influenced the government’s nutritional guidelines. “It’s the profit motive;” she explains in her book. “Food lobbyists ask government officials to make rules or laws that will benefit their clients’ companies, whether or not they benefit anyone else.” If a particular type of food gets the governments’ stamp of approval, then sales will probably increase. The dairy industry spends millions promoting consumption, such as the “Got Milk” ad campaign. Most recently there have been charges that the dairy industry is trying to boost sales by claiming that eating more dairy helps with weight control.


  • 14. The milk of each of the over 4,700 mammals on earth is formulated specifically for that species. There are special lactoferrins and immunoglobulins (cow specific immunizing stuff) that in humans serve as allergens.

Doctors tell pregnant women that they should not take any medicines and be careful what’s put into their body, toxins in lactating mothers are transferred to the baby. All lactating mammals can excrete toxins through their milk. Why is it then that milk with all these toxins are deemed safe for humans?

This is absolutely RIDICULOUS.

Why don’t people think about this? When you drink bovine milk, YOU ARE DRINKING antibiotics, pesticides, chemicals and hormones. No matter how healthy you think milk is for you, it DOES have these poisons it. Why would they still sell it then? Because The CORPORATIONS DO NOT CARE ABOUT YOU.  They care about profits. Will the FDA protect you? Hell no. Many higher-ups in the FDA were also in private business and visa versa… it’s about money & power. It’s a club for the chosen few… and we’ll never get membership to that club… unless of course you’re an apathetic moron and are willing to hurt others so you prosper. There is no lack of scientific information on the subject of milk. The information many Truth Seekers have read is appalling. Concerning scientific studies, no independent scientist publishing a report on milk promotes cow’s milk as an excellent food that is free of side-effects. We’ve been led to believe by the industry that milk is the perfect food. But as I have shown,  indeed (cow) milk is NOT the perfect food.

4. Milk Alternatives

While the focus on calcium intake appears to have resulted from the prevalence of osteoporosis among Caucasian women (and the influence of the dairy industry), this isn’t to say that a certain amount of dietary calcium isn’t needed by those in other demographic groups. However, calcium is readily available in sources other than dairy products. What do green leafy vegetables such as broccoli, Brussels sprouts, mustard greens, kale, turnip greens, beans (e.g., pinto beans, black-eyed peas, and navy beans), bean products (such as tofu) and collards have in common? They’re rich in a form of calcium whose absorption is better than that of milk with advantages (excellent sources of phytochemicals and antioxidants, containing little fat, no cholesterol, and no animal protein) that dairy products lack.

6. Conclusion

Human milk is ‘designed’ specifically for humans. It has the right amount of nutrients in it for Brain Development. Human milk is for the development of Human Brain. Humans must think to survive. Bovine milk is for the calf to become big as possible as fast as possible. Cows are dumb animals. So yes, a baby drinking mother’s on average will have a higher IQ than a baby who has had formula. It’s a no-brainer (this time the pun was intended). Vegetarians will need about 50% less calcium than meat-eaters because they lose much less calcium in their urine. People always ask vegetarians, ‘if you don’t eat meat where do you get your protein from? (Especially if one is not your stereotypical, skinny vegetarian) Remember,  EVERYTHING has protein in it. How do you think those big lumbering cows (before humans injected hormones, fed them meat, did not let them exercise. ETC) get their protein? We do a lot of things we are not supposed to do as a Species. Often we do this out of naiveté, ignorance or brainwashing (subtle and otherwise). Many of us are resistant to change or feel that our one voice does not make a difference. Those who seek Truth are often shunned, ridiculed or ignored. We have developed considerably as a species over the last few hundred thousand years, yet we still hold on to what Timothy Leary called 2nd circuitry (mammalian) thinking. We have the ability to use our Minds rationally & logically. We have the ability to Reason, and all we need is Good Information to be able to make rational, logical decisions about how we lead our lives.

Shampoo, you say?


It seems we do not give a lot of thought to taking care of our hair. Often we buy whatever smells nice, whatever is on sale or leave the care of our hair to a professional (who may know how to style your hair, but they are frequently  – and often unwittingly – using products that are damaging to your hair).

This article is going to reveal what SHAMpoo is all about.


A few years ago, I realized that shampoo is really just that, a SHAM with a little poo (or BS) mixed in. It is a huge money-maker that does nothing for your hair, but over the long run could actually have detrimental effects on not only your hair, but your body & over-all Health.

After a fair amount of research over the years, I have come to realize the dangers of SHAMpoo and have subsequently stopped using it.

What a huge, wonderful difference it makes!

Let’s get one thing very clear: Do not get not using shampoo confused with not washing your hair.

Now before you laugh and mock; read on.

After reading this document, I urge you to do some further research yourself.

1. SHAMpoo: A Brief History

The word shampoo means to ‘massage’ it comes from the Hindi word champo which means to ‘smear, knead the muscles, massage.’ It was coined in England circa 1760. SHAMpoos as we know them (i.e. synthetic, harsh detergents) have only been used since the about the 1930s. Before that hair washing agents in the west were derived from boiling soap down. And before that, they were derived from plants and other natural ingredients such as herbs. It is my understanding that in the West, both the herbal and boiled down soap versions of shampoo were used.

To understand how SHAMpoo was born in the West, one must understand the history of soap. Soap got its name from ancient Rome. Animals were sacrificed on Mount Sapo. Rain washed a mixture of melted animal fat, or tallow, and wood ashes down into the clay soil along the Tiber River. Women found that this clay mixture made their wash cleaner with much less effort.

By the second century A.D., the Greek physician, Galen, recommended soap for both medicinal and cleansing purposes. Commercial soap-making in the American colonies began in early 1600s with the arrival of soap-makers from England, though soap-making stayed essentially a household chore for many years. Eventually, professional soap-makers began regularly collecting waste fats from households in exchange for soap.

Leave it to the French (and one Belgian) chemists as inventors of modern soap and by default modern SHAMpoo in the West.

These three forefathers of modern soap – and by default modern SHAMpoo – contributed to the chemical basis for cost effective soap.

Their names were:

  • Nicholas Leblanc (French. Published 1791).
  • Michel Eugene Chevreul (French. Published 1823) and
  • Ernest Solvay (Belgian. Published1861).

These scientific discoveries, together with the development of power to operate factories, made soap-making one of America’s fastest-growing industries by the mid -1800s. Its broad availability changed soap from a luxury item to an everyday ‘necessity’. Eventually specialty soaps were made for washing laundry, floors, and just about anything that needed to be cleaned (including hair).

For shampoo this soap was boiled down and used by many to wash their hair, though there were also many of those who used herbal mixes. From ancient times down to the present, shampoo has gone through many changes. Our ancient ancestors made shampoo from herbs &  natural ingredients.

As early as 2800 B.C in ancient Babylon, there is evidence from inscriptions on cylinders that soap was made by boiling fats with ash.

Soap and shampoo have come a looooong way.

Recently, the marketing strategy seems to be Let’s get back to Nature.

Visit any department store or shop and we are bombarded with a plethora of SHAMpoos.

We see organic SHAMpoos; herbal SHAMpoos; SHAMpoo made from fruit; etc.

Back to Nature!

The People have spoken and the Money Making Corporations have (ahem) listened!


Except that these organic SHAMpoos are still a SHAM for they often have dangerous chemicals in them. They still must use bonding agents, preservatives &  foaming agents. A truly organic natural shampoo is one you make yourself. But since it is made out of natural ingredients you must make it all the time. The shelf life of your own home-made shampoo is 3 or 4 days.

The Western notion of cleanliness is a dynamic, complex, cultural creation. The Corporation, in order to keep the capital flowing, has devised all kinds of ways to keep the masses thinking they are not clean enough… and that they need to skip off to the shop to buy their products.

The Masses have been Brainwashed. What happened to good ol’ ingenuity?

Mother Nature knows best and has already provided us with ingredients that are more effective, less expensive, healthier and SAFE.

And She has being doing so since Time began.

Who are we to question Her?

The idea of being clean (in the West) has been a slow change indeed. Though the ancient Romans considered cleanliness a social virtue and Jews practiced ritual purity laws involving immersion in water, the early Christians viewed bathing as Hedonistic.

Let’s get nasty for Jesus!

Americans were as filthy as most Europeans before the (American) Civil War, but the Union’s success in controlling disease through hygiene convinced The People that cleanliness was progressive not to mention Patriotic.

2. How Does SHAMpoo work?

Both soap and SHAMpoo contain surfactants. Soap bonds to oils with such affinity that it removes too much if used on hair. SHAMpoo uses a different class of surfactants; balanced to avoid removing too much oil from the hair. But with all the chemicals found in SHAMpoo there are a lot more heinous things being done to our hair – and body – than removing a bit of oil (essential oils that your hair needs anyway!).

Shampoo cleans by stripping sebum from the hair. Sebum is a type of oil secreted by your hair follicles that is readily absorbed by the strands of hair, and forms a protective layer.

Sebum protects the protein structure of hair from damage.

But this ‘protection’ comes at a cost.

It tends to collect dirt, styling products & scalp flakes. Surfactants strip the sebum from the hair shafts and thereby remove the dirt attached to it. The chemical mechanisms that underlie hair cleansing are similar to that of traditional soap. Undamaged hair has a hydrophobic surface to which skin lipids such as sebum stick, but water is initially repelled. The lipids do not come off easily when the hair is rinsed with plain water.

The anionic surfactants substantially reduce the interfacial surface tension and allow for the removal of the sebum from the hair shaft. The non-polar oily materials on the hair shaft are solubilized into the surfactant micelle structures of the SHAMpoo and are removed during rinsing. There is also considerable removal through a surfactant and oil “roll up” effect.

Are you ready for this?

The foamy effect of shampoo is purely aesthetic.

It has NO cleansing properties!

3. Why Do We Use SHAMpoo?

The obvious answer of course is to keep the hair clean.
But does it really?

What are the real reasons we use shampoo? It’s all about big business & convenience, isn’t it? They have convinced us that we are too busy with mundane work such as making soap & shampoo. We have been brainwashed into thinking that we must go to The Shop to purchase all of our necessities.

It’s convenient, we say.

I don’t have time to do it myself, you think.

I don’t know how! we cry.

Meanwhile we are unwittingly washing our bodies & manes with Toxic Chemicals.

Corporations have convinced the Public that if they didn’t make it then it’s not good. Natural medicine, natural healing & natural care for the Body have been deemed ‘quackery’ by The Corporation.

Yet (Ironically? Paradoxically?), these very same companies put “natural” ingredients into their products filled with chemicals. The natural ingredients are shouting at you from the label while the toxic chemicals are written in small print on the back of the bottle, where not even a Chemist might not be able to decipher all the Ingredients.

Why not just use the same Natural ingredients found in commercial products minus the chemicals? I will tell you how to do that later in this article.

Natural ingredients are the bane of corporations because it is hard to tax and make money on them. It is difficult for a corporation to have a patent on anything Natural (so far). So they take derivatives and patent them. Often derivatives are suspect or not very good because they are separated from the Original Source.

That is why willow bark is better for headaches than taking its derivative; acetylsalicylic acid (or aspirin). If the Corporation can’t lobby to make Nature illegal (like they do for Hemp) then they either ignore the benefits of an herb or say it doesn’t work i.e. that the said Remedy is a snake oil, quackery or bullocks.

The sad thing is that your average Person believes the Corporation BS Yarn.

How can your average uninformed person NOT believe?

With billions of dollars spent on advertising a year and with social-psychologists like Freud’s nephew Edward Bernays, the Corporate Media/PR Guru (November 22, 1891 – March 9, 1995) using psychology to get People to buy his clients’ – major corporations –products; it is no wonder the Masses think the way they do.

If you stop buying products that you can make yourself, then you essentially stop supporting the Corporations that support corrupt politicians like the Bush Family, Dick Cheney and the rest of the Evil Them.

It is all connected.

Do it yourself and share your Knowledge with Everyone.

We the People can re-take Control of our bodies.

I looked at many SHAMpoo products and basically most have the same ingredients. Even the ‘healthy’ ones that claimed to be organic and have ‘no abrasives’ had chemicals in them that are not good for us.

For you, Dear Reader, I have compiled a list of what is commonly used in most brands of SHAMpoo (and other cosmetics, so check your conditioners, make-up, skin lotion, shaving cream, and yes even your toothpaste! Eeeew!).

Listed below are 59 of the most common ingredients in your shampoo. What is disturbing is that this is not a complete list!

Check the back of everything you buy. Make a copy of this list and bring it with you next time you go shopping to see if these ingredients are in what you want to purchase. Though I implore you to make your own like I do; it is safer, fresher and actually enhances your Well Being.

Go Natural, baby!

Please note that next to many of the chemicals that are in your SHAMpoo, I have added the ‘international chemical hazard symbol’ [X] which indicates that there is a potential risk associated with this ingredient.

It could be a mild irritant; cause allergic reactions or adverse skin reactions.

Oh, and it could be potentially toxic or carcinogenic.

There may be a risk of contamination with harmful by-products which are formed during manufacture. It could also indicate that there are restrictions on the use of the ingredient.

The omission of this symbol does not imply that an ingredient is safe for all individuals. The chemicals that go into SHAMpoo are not good for the Environment. They pollute our water and add to the corrosion of our sensitive Ecosystems which Corporations and the Governments they control insist on destroying.

If the ingredients are the key part of the product they are usually listed first on your product.

Numbers in red are in most SHAMpoo products and are extremely toxic.

If you see a TOP next to the ingredient, this means it is generally found in the top five ingredients of the product.

1. Acrylates [X]

Used in Hand / Dish soap and SHAMpoo. Salts or esters of acrylic acid used as thickening agents and is in nail polishes. Strong irritant.

2. Acrylates copolymer [X]

Ingredient used in styling products to add body, provide hold and protect hair from humidity

3. Alcohol [X]

A group of compounds that includes ethanol, methanol, and others. Acts as carrying and antifoaming agent as well as a water and oil solvent. It dries quickly, and if synthetically produced is carcinogenic, mutagenic, toxic and can cause adverse reactions. Prepared by the fermentation of carbohydrates or synthetically from petroleum. Solvent.

4. Ammonium Laureth Sulfate [X] TOP

Synthetic detergent. A surfactant used in SHAMpoo, bubble baths, hand wash, dishwashing liquid. Detergent.

*May be contaminated with carcinogenic nitrosamines.

5. Babassuamidopropalkonium Chloride

Semi-synthetic compound derived from babassu oil. Antistatic agent.

6. Benzyl Alcohol [X]

Synthetic alcohol derived from petroleum or coal tar. Preservative / Solvent / Fragrance.

7. Butylene Glycol

Synthetic compound. Humectant / Solvent

8. Calendula Officinalis [X]

Oils obtained from Calendula officinalis or Garden Marigold, a plant of the daisy (Compositae) family. Emollient / Moisturizer.

9. Caramel

Obtained by the controlled heat treatment of various sugars or by treating the sugars with food-grade acids, alkalis, or salts. Anti-foaming agents may be present as impurities of manufacture. Brown Colorant

10. Cetearyl Alcohol [X]

Semi-synthetic compound derived from fatty acids. Emollient / Moisturiser / Emulsifier / Emulsion/ stabiliser / Opacifier / Viscosity adjuster.

11. Chamomilla Recutita [X]

Oils obtained from Matricaria recutita or Scented Mayweed, a short, flowering plant of the Compositae family (also includes daisy; dandelion; goldenrod; marigold; lettuces; ragweed; sunflower; thistle; zinnia) This ingredient is often mistaken for Chamomile extract. Emollient / Moisturiser.

12. Citric Acid [X]

Natural extract of citrus fruits. pH control / Chelating agent / Exfoliating agent.

13. Cocamide MEA [X]

same functions as 10. Cetearyl Alcohol

14. Cocamide MIPA [X]

same functions as 10.Cetearyl Alcohol

15. Cocamidopropyl Betaine [X] TOP

Semisynthetic compound derived from coconut oils. Surfactant.

16. Coconut Acid [X] TOP

Fatty acids obtained from coconut oil. Emollient / Moisturiser / Emulsifier / Surfactant.

17. Dimethicone [X]

Synthetic silicone polymer. Antifoaming agent / Emollient / Moisturiser.

18. Disodium Cocoamphodiacetate TOP

Synthetic compound derived from fatty acids obtained from coconut oil. Surfactant.

19. Disodium Laureth Sulfosuccinate [X]

Synthetic compound derived from fatty acids and ethylene oxide. Surfactant.

20. EDTA [X]

An artificial chemical that is used as an antioxidant and as a complexing agent in SHAMpoos, which means that it binds metallic irons so that the surfactants can work more effectively.

*Potential for causing contact dermatitis.

21. Ethoxylated surfactants [X]

Widely used in cosmetics as foaming agents, emulsifiers and humectants. As part of the manufacturing process the toxic chemical 1.4-dioxane, a potent carcinogen, is generated.

On the label, they are identified by the prefix “PEG”, “polyethylene”, “polyethylene glycol”, “polyoxyethylene”, “-eth-“, or “-oxynol-“. *

22. Ethylene Diamine Tetraacetic Acid [X]

Synthetic compound. Chelating agent. When handling this chemical in the warehouse one must observe the following guidelines: Sweep spilled substance into containers. Carefully collect remainder, and then remove to safe place. Do NOT let this chemical enter the environment (extra personal protection: self-contained breathing apparatus) The substance is harmful to aquatic organisms. The substance irritates the eyes, the skin and the respiratory tract.

*The substance may cause effects on the kidneys.

23. Fragrance [X]

A combination of mainly artificial chemicals, typically 50 to 100, used to impart a fragrance. Fragrance.

24. Glycerin (also spelt Glycerine or Glycerol) [X] TOP

A naturally occurring compound that can be processed from natural fats and oils of plant or animal origin. It is a by-product of the soap manufacturing industry. Denaturant / Humectant / Solvent.

25. Glycine

A naturally occurring amino acid obtained from various proteins or it can be easily and cheaply prepared artificially. Antistatic agent/ pH control.

26. Glycine Soja

Various extracts and derivative of soya beans, including soya bean flour, soya bean oil and proteins and amino acid obtained from Soja hispida, a member of the pea (Leguminosae) family. This may be genetically modidfied or contaminated with GM material. Botanical additive / Emollient / Moisturiser.

27. Glycol [X]

A synthetic compound made from petroleum and used as antifreeze in cars because it’s also resistance to freezing. Solvent.

*NOTE: This name and its cousins are running rife in the world of cleaning products and personal-care items.  Glycol is in countless cleansers, liquid soaps, SHAMpoos, conditioners, hair coloring products, lotions and many baby-care products. Glycols are alcohols that serve many purposes in manufacturing, thanks to their emulsifying and moisturizing properties and their ability to impart a desirable “pearled” appearance to cosmetics.

Ethylene glycol, by any other name, is antifreeze.

Look at the glowing color of the stuff. Who would want to touch it to their skin?

28. Glycol Distearate TOP

Synthetic compound derived from glycol (from petroleum) and fatty acids. Emollient/Moisturiser/Emulsifier/Opacifier/Viscosity adjuster.

29. Hyaluronic Acid

Obtained from skin tissue and from the synovial fluid that surrounds the joins in animal skeletons where it acts as a lubricant.

Humectant / Lubricant / Antistatic agent / Humectant.

30. Hydrolyzed Conchiorin

Protein. Alternative spelling, Conchiolin, this is a fibrous protein found in the shells of oysters, which is broken down by enzymes or by treatment with acids or alkalis. Biological additive.

31. Hypericum Extract

Obtained from Hypericum perforatum or Perforate St. John’s Wort, a member of the St. John’s Wort (Hypericaceae) family. Botanical additive.

32. Lauramidopropyl betaine

A synthetic compound obtained by the extensive chemical modification of lauric acid, a natural fatty acid. Antistatic agent / Surfactant

33. Laureth-3 [X]

A synthetic compound obtained by the extensive chemical modification of lauric acid, a natural fatty acid, and oxirane (ethylene oxide). Emulsifier / Surfactant.

34. Laureth-4 [X]

same def as 33 Emulsifier / Surfactant.

35. Laureth-16 [X]

same def as 33 Emulsifier.

36. Parabens [X] a group of closely related chemicals which are ‘esters’ of p-hydroxybenzoic acid. They are used widely as preservatives by inhibiting the growth of organisms for cosmetics, foods and drugs. As different esters inhibit different organisms, they are often used as a combination of different esters. Paraben mix sensitivity produces classic allergic contact dermatitis reactions. Sometimes it may be seen as a flare or spread of an existing treated rash. Paraben allergic hypersensitivity is not uncommon although rare in relation to its widespread use. It appears that repeated applications of relatively low concentrations of Parabens in medications and cosmetics may lead to sensitivity.

The most commonly used Parabens are methylparaben, ethylparaben, p-hydroxybenzoic acid, propylparaben and butylparaben. Parabens sensitivity is usually caused by medicaments used to treat eczema. Parabens are found in many Pharmaceutical preparations as well.

37. Parfum

A mixture of fragrance compounds, usually of synthetic origin. This is the most concentrated form of synthetically prepared fragrance. Fragrance

38. PEG Compounds (4-200) [X]

(polyethylene glycol or polymers of ethylene oxide) a solvent, emulsifier, bases, carriers, and dispersants. A manufacturing by-product. Dangerous levels of the toxin dioxane has been found in this product. Many allergic reactions, as well as hives and eczema are known to occur from these synthetic plant glycols. Artificial. Solvent.

39. PEG-120 methyl glucose dioleate [X]

Toxic to humans, including carcinogenicity, reproductive and developmental toxicity, neurotoxicity, and acute toxicity. Regulatory Links to world-wide registration status as well as regulatory information for the U.S. and California. Ecotoxicity Toxicity to aquatic organisms. (see number 40).

40. PEG Polyethylene glycol [X]

These compounds have not received a lot of attention from consumer watchdog groups. They should. This family of synthetic chemicals functions in cosmetic formulations as surfactants, cleansing agents, emulsifiers, skin conditioners, and humectants. Many cosmetic manufacturers rely on them extensively and are getting away with what is believed to be a conspiracy of negligence. PEG compounds often contain small amounts of ethylene oxide.

*According to experimental results reported on in the National Toxicology Program’s Eighth Annual Report on Carcinogens, ethylene oxide increases the incidences of uterine and breast cancers and of leukemia and brain cancer. OUCH!

41. Polysorbates Fatty Acid Esters.

Used in many cosmetics as emulsifiers. Polysorbates are assigned different numerical values according to their formulas and whether they’re intended to be used in foods or cosmetics.

42. Polysorbate 20 Synthetic

Compound derived from sorbitan, which can be manufactured by chemically modifying glucose. Emulsifier / Surfactant / Viscosity adjuster.

43. Polyquaternium

Found in particular application in conditioners, SHAMpoo, mousse, hair spray, and hair dye. Because they are positively charged, they neutralize the negative charges of most SHAMpoo and hair proteins and help hair lay flat. Their positive charges also ionically bond them to hair and skin. Followed by any number they are carcinogenic, mutagenic, toxic and cause adverse reactions.

*Induced contact dermatitis, causes fatal drug allergy (anaphylactic shock).

*May cause increased sensitivity to muscle relaxants.

44. Polyquaternium-7

A synthetic cationic (positively electrically charged) polymer derived from nitrogen-containing organic compounds. Antistatic agent / Film former.

45. Polyquaternium-10

A synthetic cationic (positively electrically charged) polymer derived from nitrogen-containing organic compounds. Antistatic agent / Film former.

46. Potassium Cocoate TOP

A mixture of soap-like substances derived from fatty acids obtained from coconut oil. Emulsifier / Surfactant.

47. Potassium Hydroxide Synthetic

compound that is strongly alkaline. An emulsifier buffer found SHAMpoo, liquid soap, hand lotion, cuticle removers, household cleaners, button batteries. pH control.

48. Potassium Sorbate

The potassium salt of sorbic acid, a natural acid found in the berries of the mountain ash. Preservative.

49. Propylene Glycol [X]

Synthetic compound derived from petroleum. Humectant / Solvent.

50. Quaternary ammonium compounds [X]

A synthetic compound obtained by the extensive chemical modification of lauric acid, a natural fatty acid. The substance is very toxic to aquatic organisms. Used as water repellents, fungicides, emulsifiers, paper and fabric softeners, antistatic agents, and corrosion inhibitors. Their use in cleaners & laundry fabric softeners, aerosol deodorants, aftershave lotions, anti-dandruff and regular SHAMpoos, hair colorings, mouthwashes, hand creams… just to name a few. Comes from the paper and fabric industries. Eye & skin irritants. Concentrations as low as 0.1 percent are irritating to the eye & mucous membranes. Antistatic agent/Surfactant.

*Ingestion can be fatal.

51. Sodium Benzoate [X] TOP

Synthetic compound derived from benzoic acid. Preservative.

52. Sodium Chloride TOP

Extracted from the sea or from underground salt deposits. Viscosity adjuster/Astringent/Isotonic control.

53. Sodium Coceth Sulfate [X]

A semisynthetic detergent-like compound derived from fatty acids obtained from coconut oil, modified using ethylene oxide (oxirane). Surfactant.

54. Sodium C14-16 Olefin Sulfonate TOP

A synthetic compound derived from petroleum or coconut oils. Surfactant

55. Sodium Hydroxide [X]

Synthetic compound that is strongly alkaline (caustic soda). pH control /Denaturant

56. Sodium Lactate

The sodium salt of lactic acid which is obtained from milk products. pH control / Humectant

57. Steareth-20 (or 21)

This is a Polyethoxylated Alcohol, which is a fatty alcohol derived from natural oils and fats and is known by its INCI name, Steareth-20. This is a simple and effective emulsifyer. It binds oils and water together to form an emulsion and is essential in the manufacture of lotions and creams. It is not a combination of products and does not contain any thickening agent.

Used on it’s own it will effectively make light lotions and creams, the texture of which will rely on the saturation of the oil/s used. It is one of several ingredients within Emulsifying Wax NF, which is widely quoted as being the most popular emulsifying wax for crafters.

The problem with this is that NF means National Formulary and it refers to American standard formula.

It is not recognized in Britain or Europe and so has to be imported, which can be expensive and is unnecessary.

58. Steareth-2,-4,-7,-10, 20,-30 59. Toluenesulfonic acid [X]

Used for acid-catalyst reaction such as estification, hydrolysis, dehydration, polymerization and alkylation as a catalyst.

  • As hardener of many resin systems, such as resoles, epoxies, amino-Plastics and furniture lacquers.
  • As intermediate of dye chemistry, adhesives and specialized plasticizers.
  • 4. As a hardening agent of furan resin which is applied in foundry Industry (Sand Casting).
  • As an anti-stress additive for electroplating baths.


Serious local effects by all routes of exposure. The substance is corrosive to the eyes, the skin and the respiratory tract. Corrosive on ingestion. Inhalation of aerosol may cause lung oedema. Medical observation is indicated.


59. Sodium Laureth Sulfate & Sodium Lauryl Sulfate [X] TOP

Read this one carefully!

I SAVED THIS ONE FOR LAST. Also known as SLES & SLS, both these chemicals are very effective foaming agents, chemically known as surfactants. It is probably the most dangerous ingredient used in skin and hair-care products. Cleans by corrosion. Dries skin by stripping the protective lipids from the surface so it can’t effectively regulate moisture.

In the cleaning industry SLS is used in garage floor cleaners, engine degreasers, car-wash soaps, etc. It is very corrosive and readily attacks greasy surfaces. In the same way as it dissolves the grease on car engines, SLES also dissolves the oils on your skin, which can cause a drying effect. It is also well documented that it denatures skin proteins, which causes not only irritation, but also allows environmental contaminants easier access to the lower, sensitive layers of the skin. SLS is used throughout the world for clinical testing as a primary skin irritant.

Laboratories use it to irritate skin on test animals and humans so that they may then test healing agents to see how effective they are on the irritated skin.

WARNING: Both SLS and its cousin SLES are very dangerous, highly irritating chemicals. A study at the University of Georgia Medical College indicated that SLS penetrated into the eyes as well as brain, heart, liver, etc., and showed long-term retention in the tissues. The study also indicated that SLS penetrated young children’s eyes and prevented them from developing properly and caused cataracts to develop in adults.

*May cause hair loss by attacking the follicle. It is classified as a drug in bubble baths because it eats away skin protection and causes rashes and infection to occur. How ironic that it is harmful to skin and hair!

Although SLES is somewhat less irritating than SLS, it cannot be metabolized by the liver and its effects are therefore much longer-lasting (this not only means it stays in the body tissues for longer, but much more precious energy is used getting rid of it).

Another report published in the Journal of The American College of Toxicology in 1983 showed that concentrations of SLS as low as 0.5% could cause irritation and concentrations of 10-30% caused skin corrosion and severe irritation.

National Institutes of Health “Household Products Directory” of chemical ingredients lists over 80 products that contain SLS and SLES. Some soaps have concentrations of up to 30%, which the ACT report called “highly irritating and dangerous”. So if SLS can lead to direct damage to the hair follicle, skin damage, permanent eye damage in children and even liver toxicity, then why is a dangerous chemical like these used in our soaps and SHAMpoos?


Because it’s inexpensive and Korporations do not care about you. They care about their bottom line. They care about profit. You are the means to obtain that profit. And they will cut corners to cut down cost and the expense of your Health.

Not to mention that the Powers That Be do not want a healthy, informed, population, they are harder to control!

SLS and SLES are inexpensive detergents that are commonly used in other products besides SHAMpoo.

Here’s a list:

~soaps, bubble-baths, toothpaste, washing-up liquid/dish soap, laundry detergent, children soaps, stain remover, carpet cleaner, fabric glue, body wash, shave cream, mascara, mouthwash, skin cleanser, moisture lotion/moisturizer, sun-cream, cosmetic cleansers, bath and shower gels and other products that we expect to “foam up”.

Look on the back of your product. If it contains this chemical, get rid of it, you will be doing your hair and body a favor.

Remember, the foamy effect of shampoo is purely aesthetic.

It has NO cleansing properties.



There you have it.

Listed here are just a fraction of the chemicals found in your SHAMpoo. We have also learned that many of these chemicals are in other products that you are using. Check the back of your product and see if these chemicals are listed. If so, it is time to get rid of them. I have presented the problems here, and now for a few solutions…

5. No SHAMpoo? How The Hell Do We Keep Our Noggins Clean & Healthy?

Many people are fooled into buying shampoos that are ‘aloe enriched’ or have watermelon or lemon in them… the problem is that these ‘natural’ shampoos still need preservatives to keep them from going bad, and have other chemicals needed to make the product foam up.

We have been duped that if it does not foam up, it does not clean… total BS… re-read above how and why your shampoo and soap foam up (see chemical number 59).

I decided a few years ago to make my own shampoo. I did a little research on natural cleansing agents and I was on my way. I have been washing my hair & body the Natural Way.

I use aloe-vera as a base (Aloe-Vera is a succulent member of the lily&onion family). Aloe is a time-proven healer & cleanser. Even big companies know the positive effects of aloe on the hair and skin; that is why they put it in their products.

The problem of course is the positive attributes of aloe-vera are diminished with the other toxic ingredients that are also added.

Generally, every couple of weeks or as needed, I use a vinegar/aloe mix to wash my hair.

Every couple of weeks I use a Home-made Natural Conditioning Mix (recipe below).

For convenience and because I have always wanted to name something after myself, let’s call this the Boston Paul Remedy or BPR. 😉

Here is how I make my conditioning shampoo:

  • Get a blender throw in washed aloe. I keep the skins of the aloe on and blend them up too (though the jelly part of the aloe is healthy and good for your digestive system… do NOT eat the skins!).
  • Then I take the skins from whatever homemade juice I made myself that morning such as lemon, orange, watermelon rind etc.
  • Wash them and cut them up and with a little rosemary
  • Throw it all into the blender.

*Rosemary is believed to stimulate hair follicles and hair growth.

* Rosemary is generally believed to slow down or even permanently hold off premature hair loss & gray hair.

*It is especially beneficial when mixed with basil, bergamot, juniper, lemon and cedar.

  • Add small amounts of water slowly until you get a fine consistency.

I make this mix a few times a month.

I usually skip a day between washings. Of course it depends on what kind of busy day I have had. Youwill find that after you stop using SHAMpoo, your hair will not get greasy. When you shower, scrub your scalp with your fingernails. Towel dry hair and brush.

Every other week, I add a small amount of vinegar to the mix.

I keep my shampoo in the fridge until needed.

I blend all this with filtered or distilled water.

It is fun and feel free to experiment. I also wash the rest of my body with this mix as well…

NOTES: Before you shower, use a firm brush on your scalp and head for a few minutes. When you hop in the shower take your BPR and apply generously to your hair and scalp. Work it in. Let it sit in your hair while you perform the rest of your routine. I leave it in for about 5 minutes. Take a comb and comb it out slowly while you are in the shower. Rinse well and you can repeat.

Let your hair dry naturally the way humans have right up until 1920 when the hair dryer was invented (though it wouldn’t be until the 60s when they became widely available and common place).

Blow drying is terrible for your hair.

Be sure to brush your hair a few times a day. It feels good and it is good for a healthy scalp.


If you do the math, you will be making out like a Bandit.

How much does the average bottle of SHAMpoopoo – and all the other hair care products you may use – cost? How much do you make an hour? How long does it take to make your own and what are the costs? You will see that 15 minutes once or twice a week is cost effective and over the long run will save you money and could save your health. The mixes that I make last a few days.

My hair is soft, clean, smells great and most importantly (listen up men) fall out has decreased dramatically.

No preservatives; no chemicals. The BPR for hair is not limited to the few simple ingredients I have listed, but it is good to keep aloe as your base. You can try new mixes using some of the other ingredients I have listed here.

Traditionally, herbs such as neem, shikakai or soapnut, henna, bael, brahmi, fenugreek, buttermilk, amla, and almond have also been used in natural shampoos.

It feels good to be healthy, doesn’t it?

Hair conditioners have many of the chemicals that SHAMpoo has. Bonding agents, mulsifyers, fragrant chemicals that are not made from what they are supposed to smell like.

Try these natural remedies instead:

Olive Oil – Put the moisture back into it by warming up about a 1/2 cup olive oil (don’t boil it), and then applying it to your hair. Cover your hair with a plastic grocery bag, and then wrap it in a towel. Let it set for 45 minutes or so, then rinse thoroughly with the BPR Vinegar rinse.

Want to put the life back into your limp or damaged hair? Combine 1 teaspoon apple cider vinegar with 2 tablespoons olive oil and 3 egg whites. Rub the mixture into your hair, then keep it covered for 30 minutes using plastic wrap or a shower cap then wash with the BPR.

Coconut Oil –  a natural moisturizer. Use once or twice a month for soft shiny hair! Take a table spoon scoop put into a glass jar pour a little bit of warm water and shake.  Pour on head, work through hair and scalp then wash out. Towel dry hair then brush.

Baking Soda – A thorough cleansing with baking soda at least once a week will wash all of the gunk and pollution from a drive through the city out of your hair. Add 1 tablespoon of soda to your hair while shampooing. In addition to removing all the chemicals you put in your hair, it will wash away water impurities.

Beer – Before you get into the shower, mix 3 tablespoons beer in 1/2 cup warm water. After you shampoo your hair, rub in the solution, let it set for a couple of minutes, then rinse it off. Results are wonderful. You may want to keep a six-pack in your shower.

6. Conclusion

With all these chemicals that we put on our body and that we ingest everyday unwittingly… Think for a moment; when you are in your 50s, 60s, or 70s, and you have a disease or liver failure or some kind of cancer…

…is it entirely possible that these toxic chemicals – over a period of time – could have contributed to that?

Is it possible that when the doctor says, I don’t know what is wrong with you, I am sorry, you are going to die soon,  this may have been prevented?

The Corporations want Power and money gives them that Power… they govern the governments and they DO NOT CARE ABOUT YOU.

In school we learn basic skills and how to obey. This makes us into nice, little, behaved slaves that will  ‘keep the economy going’ in the future… but we don’t learn about our bodies and how we should take care of them.

Through Public Education (i.e. Indoctrination) we are taught a whitewashed history (the winners rewrite history and the losers never have a Voice).

We are taught to obey. We are conditioned to eat when we’re told to; pee & poo when we’re told to; play when told to, share ideas when told to (often squelched when not conforming to the status quo).

In Public Schools we are conditioned. Our Learning Environment is within the confines of four walls & bright lights.  We are seated in rows.

It makes perfect sense actually.

How else could they get anyone in their right mind to work in an office from 9 – 5?

This is where we get the concept WENT POSTAL from.

Think about it.

Keep your mind strong for Knowledge is Power.

Here are a few words you might need to know from the reading:

• Anioic – a negatively charged ion, especially one that is attracted to an anode, either during electrolysis or within a vacuum tube

• Antistatic agent – A compound used for treatment of materials or their surfaces in order to reduce or eliminate buildup of static electricity generally caused by the triboelectric effect. Its role is to make the surface or the material itself slightly conductive, either by being conductive itself, or by absorbing moisture from the air, so some humectants can be used. The molecules of an antistatic agent often have both hydrophilic and hydrophobic areas, similar to those of a surfactant; the hydrophobic side interacts with the surface of the material, while the hydrophilic side interacts with the air moisture and binds the water molecules.

• Chelating agentsCertain organic compounds capable of forming coordinate bonds with metals through two or more atoms of the organic compound. In other words; a bonding agent

• Denaturation – The destruction of the usual nature of a substance, as by the addition of methanol or acetone to alcohol to render it unfit for drinking, or the change in the physical properties of a substance, as a protein or nucleic acid, caused by heat or certain chemicals that alter tertiary structure.

• Dispersants – A liquid or gas added to a mixture to promote dispersion or to maintain dispersed particles in suspension

• Emollient – Emollients are substances that soften and soothe the skin. They are used to correct dryness and scaling of the skin.

• Emulsifier – an ingredient which binds the water and oil in a cream or lotion together permanently. We all know what happens in a salad dressing, when it’s left to settle. The ingredients separate into oil and water-based and need shaking to mix before using. With cosmetic creams and lotions, this problem is solved using an emulsifiera, crylates / Steareth-20 Methacrylate Copolymer Synthetic compound.

• Film Former – Any substance of which will change from liquid to solid in such a manner as to form a film over a surface.

• Humectants – A humectant is a substance used primarily in foods and cosmetic products to help retain moisture. These substances are called hygroscopic, which means that they are able to absorb ambient water. Some humectant additives are beneficial when consumed or used. Others, particularly in some foods, are less helpful, may cause abdominal distress, and should probably be avoided.

• Hydrophobic – chemistry not dissolving in, absorbing, or mixing easily with water • Lipids – constituent of fat a biological compound that is not soluble in water, e.g. a fat. The group also includes waxes, oils, sterols, triglycerides, phosphatides, and phospholipids.

• Micelle – an electrically charged particle formed by an aggregate of ions or molecules in soaps, detergents, and other suspensions

• Opacifier – A chemical agent added to a material, such as rocket propellant, to make it opaque

• 10. pH (control) – per hydron or per hydrogen, also power of the hydrogen. Inadequate control of the pH can result in the growth of undesirable bacteria in the product that could be a potential health hazard to an unsuspecting consumer.

• Sebum – an oily substance secreted by the sebaceous glands that lubricates the hair and skin and gives some protection against bacteria

• Solvent – A liquid that dissolves a solid, liquid, or gaseous solute, resulting in a solution

• Surfactants – The term surfactant is a blend of “surface acting agent”. Surfactants, also known as tensides, are wetting agents that lower the surface tension of a liquid, allowing easier spreading, and lower the interfacial tension between two liquids.

• Viscosity adjuster – Used to make a product thinner or thicker.
